Food was good but not great. Overpriced. Proportions not as expected (too much ropa vieja for a little white rice side). Mojitos not that very tasteful for what you expect of a Cuban restaurant. Waitress was not tracking how we were doing (we had to ask her to refill our water).

The positives: the food was delicious and fresh, the atmosphere is nice and the location is perfect. The negative was the server wasn’t very attentive. She kept walking past me and I had to ask for everything without her noticing. I had to ask for water repeatedly and I had to finally ask the hostess to tell my waitress that I was ready for the check, after sitting at an empty table for about 30 minutes while she continued to walk past the table.

Marabú is a wonderful twist on Cuban food. My wife, who is Cuban-American, loved her dinner of lechón con mojo, which came with two super crispy pieces of chicharrón and arroz moro. Beautiful presentation and large serving. The roasted, fresh grouper with shrimp and black bomba rice seared in the coal oven and served in a cast iron pan were delicious. Drinks were phenomenal, especially the rum old fashioned with Zacapa 23 and the Marabu Mojito. Our sever Cindy was amazing. She was extremely attentive to us, super nice, had a beautiful smile and she knew all of the dishes. Her recommendations were right on. She made us feel welcome ans totally at home. We definitely recommend Marabu! Food: 5/5 |
