Realice la reserva para celebrar un cumpleaños, al momento de realizar la misma el sistema me permitía realizarla más tardar a las 10:15pm, por lo que tomé la decisión de hacerla a las 8:30pm creyendo que era una hora prudente y considerada con el horario del local. Sin embargo a las 5:22 de la trade me llaman indicando que la cocina cierra a las 9pm que me recomendaban llegar antes, resaltando que solo hablaron de la cocina, llegamos a las 8:00pm, a pesar que nos complicó nuestra agenda y causó que dos de los invitados optarán por no llegar, al llegar el local nos estuvieron insistiendo en la necesidad de ordenar rápido, lo cual cumplimos antes de las 8:30. Al realizar la orden pedimos platos que luego nos indicaron que no estaban disponibles y nos sirvieron sustitutos sin consultar solo lo llevaron. Cabe resaltar que se ordenó todo junto y que la carta está dividida en 3 partes y la última de la cual se ordenaron 3 platos, está titulada “main dishes”. Al comenzar la entrega de los platos tuvieron demora de sobre 10-15min entre ellos a pesar de que nos vendieron un risotto aparte como si fuera un “side” de una langosta y una pescado que se ordenó. En medio del desagrado de todo el desenlace nos notifica la mesera que la barra también cerraba a las 9. A lo que exigimos hablar con el inepto de David quien nos indicaron que era el gerente de turno. El mismo no tuvo ni siquiera la dignidad de disculparte por tan horrible experiencia, apenas nos sirvieron un solo trago después de todo eso y no nos ofrecieron más nada así que ordenamos la cuenta molesto después tan pésimo servicio, para sorpresa de nadie nos entregaron la cuenta completa y sin ningún descuento por todo el maltrato. Pese a eso hicimos el pago completo y hasta propina dejamos. Al volver a intentar conversar, obviamente ya molestos, con el supuesto gerente de nombre David, el mismo dio la espalda y siguió caminando. Luego se acercó la mesa de al lado comentando que tuvo la misma experiencia que nosotros.

I really wanted to like this place, especially because I planned to propose that evening — but unfortunately, the experience left us both disappointed. Let me start with the reservation issues. I had a confirmed reservation for 8:30 PM. However, around 5:30 PM, I received a message saying my table was “ready,” which caused unnecessary anxiety and made me second-guess whether I had booked the wrong time. After confirming it was still 8:30, I thought all was well — until 20 minutes later when I received another message and a phone call telling me I needed to arrive earlier because the kitchen closes at 9 PM. If that’s the case, why offer 8:30 PM reservations at all? This forced us to rush. My girlfriend and I were three towns away and now had to scramble to get ready and make it in time. We still managed to arrive by 8 PM, only to wait to be seated anyway. Our waiter was actually quite good, and the food was decent — good but not great. What really undercut the ambiance was the rooftop experience. The view, which is supposed to be a highlight of this restaurant, was completely blocked by large shades. There was no bad weather, so it felt unnecessary and really killed the vibe. It was just… flat. To top it off, the rushed dining experience led to a bill of $98 for just three dishes and two non-alcoholic drinks — not exactly the memorable foodie moment I had hoped for, especially considering the occasion. I’m not one to leave bad reviews lightly, but I expected more care and attention for an upscale spot with such a strong reputation. Unfortunately, the night didn’t live up to it.

I had a birthday dinner here with my husband and daughter and really enjoyed the whole experience. The restaurant and views are beautiful and the service (I believe his name was Al) was outstanding. They did not have the bottle of wine we ordered but Al brought over a tasty replacement and gave it to us at the same price. The queso frito and ahi tuna aguachile appetizers were both delicious. on this night, the scallop escargot presentation was a miss as the whole preparation was too dry. We sent it back and they removed it from our bill without issue. We enjoyed our entrees and the birthday sparkler was a nice touch on our dessert. I would recommend this restaurant, especially for special occasions.

My mother, son and I heard that Mar Y Rosa had the best rooftop in San Juan and it did not disappoint. Though it rained off and on, mostly off, the views were spectacular, the service was excellent and the food was delicious. Would definitely recommend and visit again.

Aesthetically, this place is very nice! However, I was shocked when it came to the food. I personally had the lobster with the truffle butter (I am not a fan on truffle butter) and subbed the butter for regular/ garlic butter expecting it to elevate the taste but it was just something off about it. A friend who joined us for dinner ordered a medium steak and it came out medium rare. While they offered to remake it, it just simply wasn’t something we would order again. Also, the fries were extremely salty, mind you I actually like my food to be pretty savory. Ultimately, one thing that rubbed me wrong was they asked my friend AFTER we had already ordered, if he would be willing to put on a shirt. He had on swim trunks. He asked if they had a shirt he could use (work shirt), apron, SOMETHING, and they said no. What left me super confused about this is the fact there’s a whole pool/ jacuzzi tub on the backside of the rooftop as if they expect people to take a dip with their “formal” attire on lol. Overall, this place was okay for content, but we probably will not come back or recommend for food.

Great brunch experience! I had the Mofongo carbonara and my wife had the Lobster Benedict. Cocktails perfectly matched with our meal, a pleasant sea breeze on the rooftop and a South Beach feel except far better service and attention than any place I’ve eaten in Miami.

Very bad service, no attention to customer service. Spent $400 between 2 and felt as if I was bothering the staff. Would not recommend to others.
