We love Maple Block! It was very cold and rainy and I was freezing at the 2 top table from the door draft. Unusual weather for LA, so I cannot hold it against them.
Great food! Solid barbeque in west LA. Definitely recommend to friends.
Maple Block was excellent as usual. The food was great, the value is good, the seats were good (outside but warm with the heaters). My only complaint was that service was extremely slow, but I also know that it’s hard to find workers right now and I don’t think their service is any worse than other similar tier restaurants in the area.
Solid meats and good vibes for business or casual meet ups
Great restaurant! Tasty and thoughtfully prepared food. My son wanted BBQ for his birthday so we trekked out to Culver City from South Pasadena just to eat here, and I'm glad we did. I love good brisket and theirs did not disappoint. Unfortunately, they did not have links the day we went -- which is my 2nd fave thing to eat BBQ'd -- but the rest of the food was great, so we didn't miss it. Loved all the sides and pickles too!
Food was not that good … and very over priced !! Not worth the money. I thought the pictures of the food online looked too good , won’t be back.
The smokiness of the brisket and chicken was decent. The side dishes (mac & cheese and slaw) were trash. I also ordered the burger and would have been better off going to Carl's Jr. Overall, the food was not satisfactory.
Great service, food and ambiance
Best bbq I’ve had outside of Texas.
Outdoor seating made for a nice open area. The servers were super helpful in deciding and very nice. The food was amazing – the sauces are fantastic with the meats & the mac and cheese is a must!
Amazing bottomless mimosa brunch! Cute outdoor patio, felt very covid-safe. Great place to catch up with friends over delicious food and drinks.
Biscuits were perfect. The ribs were flavorful and meaty. The brisket was tender. The Mac and cheese was adequate.
Great fun! Great food. Best biscuits we’ve ever had. Terrific service. No rush. Fantastic outside dining. A perfect birthday meal
A carnivores delight. Enjoyed a scrumptious smoked brisket lunch with friends. Homemade sides as well as their in-house soft drinks added a special touch
Love the outdoor area for lunch. Tables were the perfect width apart for COVID safety. Excellent food. Enjoyed the restaurant.
Accommodating service, delicious food. Their smoked pork dishes are the best, along with their Mac & cheese and desserts.
We went to NC and tried BBQ down there that was not as good as Maple Browns.
We ordered off the dine LA menus. They were out of one of the items. The did not offer another selection therefore the Dine LA menus was of no value. This clouded the experience. Why participate in dine LA and then not have enough food. We were there at 6:30.
All our food came out cold, and the brisket was dry for the cuts we had. The flavors were good.
Awesome food and service!
Love Maple Block. So much food on the my plate at 🍽 "Dine LA" dinner. We will be back soon.
We been coming to Maple Block since opening day - We were there for the glass partition incident.
Needless to say we've been coming back ever since, for birthdays, special occasions, and a few of MB's special events & fundraisers.
I don't think we've ever missed going there during the Dine LA weeks as it's always been a great deal and we leave with enough leftovers for the next day.
If you've been thinking of trying their food, Dine LA is a good time to give it a go.
And did I mention that the side patio, and now the parking lot, is quite "Dog Friendly" which means alot to us folks with four footed friends who hate to be left behind...
Very tender yet flavorful BBQ. Unique side dishes and I would recommend the Southern greens. Fresh biscuits never hurts and they are great here.
This is terrific barbecue with an excellent beer on tap selection. Super casual, really sophisticated appetizers like grilled romaine and a very creative beet salad. I would suggest getting there early as they sold out of quite a few items. Would definitely go back- lots of outside dining and big screens to watch sporting events.
Maple Block’s brisket, smoked wings, smoked chicken and biscuits are the best I’ve ever had. These are the reasons to eat here for sure. The flavor profiles are savory, not sweet and the sauces really round out the experience with a bit of pickled onions.
Made 6:00 reservation. Once we sat down server came and told us oven was broken. They were out of multiple items so we bounced. Super disappointed after seeing chef Roy Choi eat here and pump up the venue. Went to Baby Blues instead and had a phenomenal time.
The food is not the same quality as it used to be a few yrs back.
I love this place. I requested that the kitchen make certain that our food was hot. They came through big time! Excellent meal, excellent service!
Great service. Great cold beer. Ribs and brisket were a bit bland and disappointing. Sauces not to my taste. My wife had chicken. It was moist and have a good taste. Highly recommend the potato salad.
Terrible food it tasted like it was buffet food (pre-made and heated by warmers) or left from the day before. The only thing that was good was the French toast.
My friend and I got the breakfast plate and it wasn’t fresh or hot. The biscuit hadn’t risen (like they forgot the baking powder) and was greasy. The potatoes tasted freezer burned and ‘fresh’ out of the microwave. The French toast was good but I’d have like for it be cooked on both sides but at least it tasted like it was freshly made. The coffee tasted like brown water so they need to make it much stronger or buy a different brand.
Also they had so many flies! We kept having to fan the table to try to keep them away unsuccessfully.
The host, waitress and busboy were very nice and friendly but I go to restaurants for hot and fresh food not flies. Also why do the women wear blue jean shorts but the men blue jean pants?
I would have ordered BBQ but I didn’t smell the smoker or grill so thought breakfast was better but I was wrong. Very disappointing and will not go back.
We order the feast and it was great to try a little of everything. Our only disappointment is that they were out of the sausage. They gave us the pork shoulder as a substitute and by the end of the evening we forgot about the sausage.
We will be going back!
Sitting outside became a bit of challenge as there was A LOT OF Flies flying around our food. The food was alright but I guess we could have enjoy it more if we weren't trying to fend off the flies as much.
None of our food was not piping hot. We mentioned it the waiter who said he'd tell the chef. Food quality was good though, especially the macaroni and cheese.
It’s was a nice experience. I took my family out to have dinner. We really enjoyed ourselves. Everybody was friendly and professional. The food was great. The brisket melted in my mouth. The Maple Block Meat Co. is a keeper.
I should have sent the brisket back. It was 80% fat. Other reviewers had mentioned this but enough people liked the restaurant that we decided to try it anyway. We will not go back. There is much better barbecue in this city!
Good but not great. There are better choices for bbq in LA.
The meats were delicious and well prepared. We ordered the variety platter for 4 people and we all enjoyed.
Dropped by for lunch. Party of eight. Decent outside seating. Loud because it’s next to Sepulveda.
We all ordered the three meat combo. Brisket was tasteless. Chicken was dry, ribs were not that special.
The brisket sandwich was awesome! Lemonade says "homemade" but tastes like it's from a machine so just meh. Mac and cheese was delish. Cookie was "okay"
My wife asked for lean brisket and it was extremely fatty, and I asked for fatty brisket and it was almost all fat with very little meat. Flavor was good, however nobody explained the two different sauces that were brought out and both were with lots of vinegar. Mac and cheese was awesome as also the tomato and cucumber salad. Willing to try again.
