Our server, Bailey, was phenomenal. It was my husband’s birthday , and she went out of her way to make us feel special. Food was excellent, too.
had to send back the salmon because the fishy smell was horrible. the waiter appeared to be upset at us because he never came back to our table. the manager helped us at one point and was wonderful. probably will not go there again or recommend.
Wonderful service by Steve Garrett and food was fabulous! Crab cake was crunchy outside and fluffy inside with a bit of heat around the plate. The short ribs and volcano cake were extremely delicious. Can't wait to go back again!
One of the best pork chops I’ve ever had
I was impressed. Beyond my expectations. The dining room was a bit loud but I was warned. The food and the wait staff were phenomenal. The Maitre’ D was attentive and quick to signal the wait staff that a new diner just walked in. The waitress of the next table was a bit chatty. But that’s OK.
Great dinner. Service was wonderful and the food was top notch. Noise level was loud with kids around and value of appetizers should be less but overall, I would go again and recommend to friends.
This is my third visit to Maple, and will be my last. The room is always freezing in the winter, with very bright unattractive white lighting. We ordered a Manhattan cocktail and were told the bartended didn't know how to make it. We then ordered two apps and one entree to share for the two of us. All items were served at the same time. The salmon entree had been sitting so long the sauce was congealed and the edges were crispy from the heat-lamp. I so want to like this place, and keep trying, but it always sadly misses the mark. Plus side the waiter was great.

Waitress was super sweet and accommodating, even though she was working on New Year’s Day. The food was scrumptious. We shared the appetizers and desserts, so we were able to taste several of the options. We weren’t sure what to expect, as this was our first time, we were all very happy.
Service was good. Took 10 minutes for my husband to get his drink. Tables were in close proximity to each other. Luckily, the groups on either side of us were friendly. Food was good--although the salmon and the chicken were both a bit dry.
A casual-appearing restaurant on the grounds of Descanso Gardens making it quite convenient for a visit.
Maple is a member of the Pinot group and the dining choices are upscale and delicious. The wait staff was friendly, accommodating and fun.
Loved the farm-to-table experience. Very fresh veggies, chicken and sustainable salmon. Our server was very friendly and bubbly, which made the dining experience all the more enjoyable.
We had a wonderful dinner at Maple before we saw the Enchanted Garden Light Show at Descanso Gardens!
The meal was fantastic! Harvest salad, salmon, braised short rib! And terrific cocktails! The staff were really friendly and well informed!

This is another great Patina restaurant, this one at Descanso Gardens. Great food creatively prepared and beautifully served. I am sad that Descanso has ended their bond with Patina. The restaurant coming in is just a run-of-the-mill joint in Pasadena. Certainly a step down. Too bad!
We had family visiting from out of town and we’re very excited to have a special meal prior to the light show. I was a bit startled by my first impression peeking in the doorway it had the ambience of a cafeteria, after a short wait we were brought inside and seated at a corner table right next door to a service area my husband asked for our table to be removed immediately. The service was great the food was just OK and the bill was $300 for the four of us. My salmon was a little dry and slightly overcooked sitting on top of room temp acorn squash, my husband and son both ordered The beef which was tasty but way too small a portion for a hungry man, my son’s girlfriend had the chicken and again just OK nothing to write home about. We did have an appetizer and three desserts and a bottle of wine but still $300, really? Next time we come to the annual Light thing we will eat the tamales at the kiosk outside the restaurant they were very hot and very good my son had to stop for another meal before we left he was so hungry after the dinner at Maple. Don’t waste your money either eat before you come or eat at a kiosk outside.
Nice, simple menu. Excellent selections. Excellent food. Excellent service. Mediocre ambiance. Not commensurate with quality of food and service. A bit pricey for the overall experience.
Food was very fresh and absolutely delicious. Good wine list. I highly recommend the crab cake and short rib plates. Our server was friendly, attentive and accommodating. Overall, our party had an awesome experience.
I think it is a bit pricy for the ambiance! 14.00 for a margarita and 26 for pork chop. No bread or tolls served. The bill was 130 for 3 and we had 2 orders of pork chops and a soup and salad did the 3rd entree. We each had a cocktail. But I think I would much rather enjoy the decor and ambiance at Taylor’s or The Proper.
The food at Maple Restaurant was fine, but nothing special. Also, it was not hot, what really bothered me.
Sorry to be negative, but the room was extremely noisy while we were there.
I had pork chop with a cabbage wedge and farro. Pork chop was dry and overcooked, cabbage was room temperature at best. My wife had the roasted pumpkin ravioli. They were cold and dried out and served with way too little sage brown butter. Our service, on the other hand was excellent. We would not consider dining at Maple again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Maple restaurant after viewing Descanso Gardens Festival of Lights. I won't spend much time talking about the good food, attentive service, etc. because the restaurant is closing its doors at the end of this year. I've eaten here twice and both times I had a memorable meal. I hope the restaurant that replaces Maple at this location will maintain the same high quality of food and service. We'll see...
The door was left open next to us with waiters coming in and out with trays. We all had to leave jackets on to stay warm enough. After being bumped several times, my son squished in the bench side. The food was tasty enough, but the portions were ridiculously small for their price. Conversation was difficult with noise level and the constant in and out of waiters and bus service. I would maybe dine here for brunch but never again for dinner. As a long time member, I was disappointed.
We went to the enchanted Forest and had dinner here beforehand. The food was better than expected but the atmosphere felt more like a café. It was also so cold that we had to wear our coats the entire time.
Probably amazing spot during the spring but was way too cold! All doors open on a winter night didn’t settle well as food was cold before it hit the tables. Took little too long to get cocktails. Highly recommend if your doing the gardens.
Server and food were excellent! Moderate noise level but not objectionable. Two of us asked to share or split a martini. It came in two small wine goblets. About two swallows each. Very unusual for a Patina Group restaurant. Since we were with family we didn’t make a fuss. Otherwise, food outstanding!
Visited Desconso gardens for the enchanted lights Festival and stayed for dinner at Maple. Overall it was a very good experience and extremely convenient to the events of the evening I would recommend giving it a try.
We went here for dinner prior to seeing the lights at enchanted. We were seated right in front of the door to the patio which was kept open so it was quite chilly. Luckily we had our heavy coats. The food was excellent. I had the short rib with mashed potatoes. I don’t think there was more than a quarter cup of mashed potatoes on my plate but what was there was delicious. Two people in our party had the pork chops which they really enjoyed one person had the salmon which they enjoyed.
It is what it is. I wouldn't go here just for the food, but if I'm going to the Garden's it's okay.
My pork chop was over cooked, but the remaining dinner items were very good. The salmon plate we had was very good.
The service and wait staff were the highlight of the evening.
Combined with the gardens it was overall a good experience worth the price.

Place is casual, and waiter was super friendly and accommodating! It was our 25th anniversary. We ordered the braised beef and roasted chicken - bother excellent in flavor but the braised beef had an edge. Must have the bignet for dessert!
Totally enjoyed our evening. Dinner and dessert were amazing. The waiter was friendly, helpful, and let us leisurely enjoy our two-hour dinner.
Such a great location at Descanso Gardens. I would recommend anyone of the fall/holiday drinks and food items. Truly a must if you visit Descanso during the holiday season.
We enjoyed our dinner at Maple Restaurant. The food and cocktails were absolutely delicious, service was great.
For options haven’t expanded or changed since the last time we went which was somewhat disappointing. Additionally the service was good when the server did come by but there was a long duration between visits to our table.
The food is very average and expensive. I only ate here because of the light show. Do not recommend it.
The menu was diverse and sophisticated but the food itself was over cooked and not very well executed. Too expensive for the quality. The ambiance was pretty absurd for the intention of the restaurant. Large plastic composite tables. Lighting was absurdly bright and the noise that particular night was cacophonous. Very little changes would have greatly improved the experience. Table cloths a must. Just mute the lighting. Add some drapery to absorb some of the sound with the added tablecloths. Easy.
The harvest salad had about 5 pieces of the squash, the manchego cheese was dusted on the plate, the dressing was sweet and didn't match the other ingredients. We complained and it was taken off the check. The waiter said they use a lot of squash in other dishes as an explanation for the scarcity of it in the salad. The crab cake was OK but under cooked. We were hesitant to try an entree so stuck with veggies. Mashed potatoes excellent. Cauliflower was good for the top pieces but gaggingly salty for bottom. No bread is available. The room feels like a cafeteria, no ambiance. VERY LOUD. There are no separate bathrooms for the restaurant so we had to wait in a long line with park patrons. We only had ice T. The whole thing cost over $50. Save your money and eat off site.
Wonderful way to start the evening before a walk through the gardens. We loved the special dinner and drink menu, and our service was amazing (Jamie was the best server - ask for her - thank you for a great experience!). It was on the pricey side, but the quality of the food and service was in line.
