After confirmation of reservation, we showed up for dinner to find the restaurant dark and locked! Very disappointing and inconvenient to say the least. Really have loved this place in the past.
They did not answer phone. They are not Open. Why are they allowed to take reservations on open table?
We arrived for our reservation and the restaurant was closed! Perhaps permanently?
Dark and closed up tight when we arrived. Are they permanently closed?
restaurant was closed.
I wish I could give no stars. I had a reservation for this past Saturday at 6pm. I got to the restaurant, excited about some delicious food, only to find the door locked and all the lights off. Double checked Google and the hours posted said they were open. This is the second time this exact scenario has happened to me - I figured the first was a fluke, but obviously not. I don't understand how they can just not be open when they say they are, and take reservations? Extremely disappointed and after reading some recent reviews, it doesn't even sound like the same great place I visited over the summer. There will be no third try to visit.
We booked last Saturday through Open Table. When we arrived at Manzo's, it was closed. No sign on door. Just an empty restaurant.
Made a reservation for seven people to celebrate a birthday. I confirmed it the day before. When we arrived the restaurant was closed and the doors locked. According to neighborhood businesses, this had been happening regularly with patrons with reservations knocking at the door of a closed restaurant. Really bad business practice!
Very tasty food and hip place. Oysters were delicious.
Nice place, limited menu, high ceilings cud use ceiling fans or other ventilation for better air circulation, some tables are too close to each other, restauranteurs need to take covid issues into account to make patrons comfortable and there should be a rating for this as well on all reviews, 2.5 stars on that one.
First time here, we loved it. Great Décor, Food, Service. I had the CT Lobster Roll and The wife had the mussels pot, both excellent. We will be back
Excellent food and service. Oysters were excellent as were Mussel Pots. Fun cocktails. Staff checked in on us a lot and worked together to give us a great date night! I
Great ambiance. Presents very well. Greeted right away. They were ready for our reservation. Host was friendly and professional. Service was good to strong. Menu was very limited. Online it said they offered a steak fillet oscar. Wasn't available night of our event. Oyster tour was fun and very tasty. Oysters had not been cut from shells which made them very difficult to remove with the 1 seafood fork for all to use. Calamari was good. Our party of 5 had an assortment of meals but I had the traditional lobster roll and my SO had the warm lobster with butter roll. I don't mind paying for a good meal but we both felt the portions were really lacking for a lobster rolls that are $27 each. A small roll, about 6", that is mostly bread. In fact, had to pick a lot of bread away just to get a bite of meat. Both tasted good but way over priced for what you get.
First visit 16 months ago was terrific, this time not so much. If a place is going to call itself an oyster bar, separating meat from shell should be core competency. Uneven service cost waitstaff a 2nd bottle of wine and likely dessert. Loved the beet salad and mussel pot, though.
I'm really trying to give this neighborhood restaurant a chance, but they need to get their inventory levels worked out. If you don't go before 6 pm, be prepared to be told "sorry we're out of that" very disappointing, bad planning/management. Ordered oysters, which were not clean cut and had to ask for lemons...they were having a rough night! Patrick the bartender was great though!
Food tasted fine, but arrived at the table cold and the restaurant wasn't busy. Also, very little lobster in the lobster roll which was cut shallow to make it appear like there was more lobster. Ultimately it is hard to justify the cost and I am the type of customer that doesn't about the cost when the food is great.
Felt bad that it was so empty as food and service and bar service were all very good-excellent. Denver needs places like this. Casual yet unique offerings. Similar places in other cities are packed. Why not in Denver when parking fairly easy and menu for Denver is not the same old same old?
They ran out of lobster
The oysters and mussels were delicious, as well as the drinks, but the calamari was a little cold and dry - slightly disappointing. I love this restaurant though and I’ll be going back again (just not for the calamari)
Delicious fare and great service. Wine list very complimentary of menu
The lobsters were delicious! Lot's of fresh seafood to pick from!
Get to this restaurant ASAP! Such a great place with amazing food and staff.
Location, Food and Service was Great! Will return without hesitation. Our server Cruz was Phenomenal!
The food was subpar on our visit. We did not feel well after the oysters. The service was the only plus
We had a lovely celebratory dinner there on a Friday night at 5 before the crowds hit. It was quite a treasure to find. The wait staff was incredible. The decor was really fun. The food was excellent. Very pleased with this place.
Awesome food music ambiance and service!
This was our first time here. The atmosphere was nice, food was good but it was loud. Since the tables are so close together, you can hear everyone’s conversations. Our waitress was awesome and knowledgeable about the oysters which was nice. Overall experience was great! We will be back for another date night!
Nice space and very friendly staff. Drinks were great. The menu was ok …. Limited. The food was hit and miss. Oysters and mussels were good and the rest was just ok too…and took forever! We waited almost two hours to get our order. We were with two other couples. One couple received there food and it was almost 45 min later before everyone else received their food. The waitress did a great job and the guy tending our water and clearing table was very attentive and polite. Overall it was just ok…not sure I’d go back.
Service was great but this place is not what it used to be. Completely new menu. Very lacking. Calamari was soaked in sauce.
We were excited to try Manzo, however came out very underwhelmed. Prices were high for the food that was provided, for example the lobster roll is $24 with maybe $5 worth of lobster on it and was served on a plate with nothing else. The oysters were poorly shucked and cooked. There was shell in every bite and the oyster itself did not easily slide away from the shell to eat. Finally, The Calamari appetizer was mostly breading and sauce.
They were out of lobster rolls and many other items
Fresh, fresh, fresh seafood! Get there early because they sometimes run out as they procure their seafood 24 hours after it was caught. Staff was excellent and very attentive. We had oysters, lobster and the mussels and all were served perfectly! As a side, their French Fries were some of the best I have had! We will be coming back!
Wonderful dining experience and food was very good.
The service was great, very friendly, but the food wasn't nearly as good as prior times. Only a few selections of oysters, the yellowtail crudo was chewy and in huge slices. The red curry mussels were excellent however. Didn't seem as fresh as in the past.
Delicious lobster rolls! I'm from New Hampshire and know a good lobster roll when I have one and these are fantastic.
terrible all around
The food was horrible. Everything was very over cooked. Some training on how to cook seafood is needed. Everything else was fine
Beautiful decor. Good wine list. Good food sustainably sourced.
Super yummy food and cocktails ☺️
Good Place. Restaurant was totally empty and dishes service was very very slow
