   This was an amazing experience! Each course was fantastic and special and both beautiful to look at and delicious to eat. The servers were wonderful explaining the paired wine and each course. I highly recommend this experience in fine dining!

   Food is fabulous and very consistent with the other restaurants of Chef Walter. Line up of food and choice of ingredients was superb. Be mindful though of tipping made a mistake in leaving in the amount of tip since I considered the LA-Labor Gratuity was part of the tip and what we provided was commensurate for the service apparently the manager didn't think so and he made us feel guilty that we did not leave enough for the service staff . On hindsight they should have explained the 4% tip was completely different and separate from the regular tip. Considering the cost of the food and labor my husband and I have been generous whenever the opportunity arise to acknowledge good service, since I do work in the service industry myself.

   The experience was amazing from the moment you enter to the attention given the entire time you are there. They made our evening one of the best, and definitely one for the books, so much that we will definitely be returning. My wife was extremely happy with everything, and that is the most important part. Definitely get the wine pairing with your course as you will enjoy some excellent wines, and enjoy each, and every wine brought out with all your courses.

    This is such a marvelous restaurant experience-- the food, the service-- the food! It's VERY expensive so it's really a special occasion restaurant but it's amazing for that special occasion. Everything about our experience was A+. Loved it.

    Some of the best food in LA did not compensate for the worst tasting menu experience I’ve ever had. After 90 minutes, we had two small courses and three glasses of wine. We spent $800 per person yet our wine glasses sat mostly empty even though we paid up for the most expensive wine pairing option. They use a Coravin “to protect the rare wine” but the pours are incredibly stingy—3 sips per glass. We literally had to order a bottle so we could have something to drink while we waited for the next minuscule pour. The service was ice cold and inattentive. We miss Maude

    A great start! Although most of the courses were excellent, I would have to say that the brioche was amazing and the placement in the middle of the various courses was perfect. Service was attentive. We especially appreciated the somm - Rasmus, who was knowledgeable, engaging, and the wine service was exceptional. He is definitely an asset to the Manzake Team. It was a delightful evening and would recommend!

    Had high hopes for this place given all the rave reviews since they opened and the owners' outstanding other restaurants. Overall I would say it's a fine spot for a special occasion (or an expensed meal) but given the value it is not on the list to immediately return to. A little more detail: Food: Everything was good, but our group agreed only 1/4 - 1/3 of the tasting menu that evening was spectacular (it apparently frequently changes, so we could have been less lucky). Compared to Mélisse and Providence though, we agreed those other restaurants had a much higher proportion of spectacular courses. Wine Pairing: Great selections, but by far the stingiest pours of any fine dining restaurant I have been to in LA (though surprisingly one of the servers topped off one of the larger pours - so this seems like it may have been an attempt to ration bottles for the evening). Also, this may have been user error, but it was hard to time the pairings and to know which dish they were for (e.g., with only 1-2 small sips per glass, you cannot really try the wine without food, but at the same time the team would bring an empty new glass and leave it on the table - so it was unclear if that was for the next or current course). Service: Outstanding. Staff were friendly, professional, and almost always watching (in a good way). I think this was the highest staff to customer ratio I have seen. One minor note: given such a high staff ratio, we were surprised plates were not presented simultaneously to all guests (this is very much nit-picking though and did not diminish the great service). Ambience: Brighter than Bicyclette downstairs but did not feel terribly special. The butter and herbs in the middle of the restaurant were a nice touch, but it was surprisingly difficult to hear our server explain the food and wine (half of our small table could not really hear her). Fairly certain it was the "acoustics" of the space.

    The service was very attentive from the beginning, almost to an anal degree of clearing plates before we finished eating. The food was very good and all was enjoyable until the experience was altered by the female waiter/sommelier? Who stated that they do offer a small taste of wine before ordering a glass, so I asked for a taste of one wine and then she gossiped audibly in Plainview to her colleague about how annoying I was to accept her offer of a taste of a wine. This rude behaviour made us nervous and took away from the overall joy of the meal. When we addressed this with her she further patronised us instead of apologising, which did not help. Other than this very rude staff member, the experience was good

    This the second time I went to Manzke. The menu items changed slightly, I guess based on diner's feedback. Overall, I think the change is for the better although I do greatly miss the Japanese Wagyu Short Rib a lot! I guess guests are not used to the texture of the truly high quality authentic very fatty Japanese Wagyu Beef. The Monterey Bay Red Abalone course is cooked to perfection where the abalone is tender and soft with a slight chew. The Live Atlantic Sea Scallop is incredible, very refreshing and just a hint of a spicy kick at the end of the throat from the Mexican Chili. Also, what can I say about the European White Asparagus with Kaluga Caviar and Potato however, they are improving fast with much better coordination between team members! I find the service at my second visit to be greatly improved. A shout out to Ricardo, our server who has been absolutely the best! He is a keeper and don't ever let him go! I will definitely return with my friends. It is wonderful to see a restaurant here in LA who finally can rival the haute-cuisine shrines of NYC. We also have an edge where here we are more modern, innovative, more willing to experiment and think outside of the box in my opinion. Cheers!

    Manzke is awesome! I have been taking my Daughters on a tasting tour recently. So many great dishes...we all had different favorites, mine were sea scallop, asparagus and quail dishes...well, the desserts were great too (and the hot chocolate to die for). The ladies had the wine pairing, and the Som really took the time and effort to educate them on each wine. Best service recently in a higher end restaurant (sorry Maude, Citrin/Melisse and others), the interior was welcoming and spacious, and service flowed like a well oiled machine. My advice is Go, Enjoy and Relax at Manzke! Our best evening out all year!

    A refreshingly casual approach to fine dining with a leisurely pace that fills an entire evening. The dishes run the gamut from complex combinations of delicate flavors to rich, explosive minimalism. You get a little of everything. The old-world wine program is well thought-out with a traditional structure on paper but offering unique takes on well-known appellations. The restaurant itself is absolutely gorgeous and the staff were fantastic, seeming to be able to easily adapt to the personality of each table, mirthful and jocular with some and more formal and reserved with others.
