As usual, we prefer to eat on their lovely patio. Inside is insanely loud and the patio is quite nice.

Great find near the Renaissance at the Arboretum. Beautiful presentation, fresh, unique food with much more of the Mex than the Tex flair.

Manuel's at the Arboretum is fantastic. Authentic interior Mexico cuisine, handcrafted cocktails, always superior serve, great variety. Can't say enough nice things about this fantastic restaurant.

Would have given a better rating but waitress was really bad. HOWEVER: management stepped in and did everything possible to make it right. So overall it was good. Definitely will go back. Food is outstanding and some unique dishes. It's a favorite place.

A group of 5 of is gathered for a birthday dinner. Our waitress was excellent. Most of our food was delicious, but one person thought their quesadilla was to dry. Out only real complaint was was the noise level. There are very few soft furnishings making the noise level quite high.

I don't know what happened to this restaurant. It use to be one of my easy go to restaurants, but there was a lot of burnt food smoking the kitchen..service was off the mark and the black drum dish was not as good as previous times. It was a party of 7 celebrating a bday. I called ahead to ask if if would be ok to bring a bday cake/candles, no prob they say. When it was time, the waiter just set the big cake box on the table..didnt even take it out of the box or put the pre purchased candles on. Then I ask to keep the box for leftover cake and the waiter throws the box away!?! So I proceed to unbox the cake put the candles on and light the candles..( I was prepared to have tipped generously for the extra service).only to wait on the forks. I left wishing we had celebrated elsewhere.

The restaurant was moderately busy. Drinks were expensive but too small to share. They brought us some stale chips and salsa, then had fajitas for two which came with cheese, Pico, and guacamole which helped to enhance the bland tasting fajitas. The coconut flan was the best part of the meal. Overall not a satisfying experience.

With a hurricane rolling inland, we headed to the theater for a good movie conveniently located at Regal Cinema across from Manuel's. Food was good, service was great. Probably an improvement from previous visits.

We go to Manuel's about once a month for a relaxed, early dinner. Drinks are consistently good, food is fresh with a decent number of creative choices. We've found service to be overall good to above average and friendly. We will return and would recommend to friends.

This place is a neighborhood gem - great ambience, including music during Sunday brunch and the food is honestly some of the best Mexican food Austin has to offer. Fresh, nicely plated and many unique dishes on the menu.

You won't be disappointed!

We've had several mediocre meals here in the last couple of years, but have kept coming back thinking that it *must* be better than it seems -- after all, the place has been in business a long time, and has a generally good reputation around town. But to my mind (and palate), it has never amounted to much more than just your average Mexican restaurant. Last Friday night was even a little less satisfying than our prior experiences: a beer and a margarita came quick, chips with no salsa then appeared, but with a promise of salsa 'when it's ready'. Then a long wait for so-so pork enchiladas (though with a very nice mole sauce) and mediocre battered, fried shrimp. The salsa appeared when we had about 2 or 3 bites of our entrees left. I don't think I'll keep trying; there are better places in town for a Mexican dinner.

This is the second time my wife and I had dinner here and the food was very good. Their patio dining area has a lot of ambiance which is surprising considering the location is next to a parking lot. They have created an area where you feel like your in garden and have no idea there is a parking lot on the other side of wall.

I took my team out to lunch here, and the food and atmosphere was great. The weren't a lot of vegetarian options, but the few they had for some team members were very tasty. Everyone was happy with what they ordered (we ordered from the lunch menu, plus appetizers), and the service was great. I would eat here again.

Even the night before UT graduation, Manuel's gracious staff made thennight fun for the huge parties there and also for the unsuspecting regulars. The garden is great day and night, maybe especially at night.

We dropped by for Happy Hour. Great margaritas and decent wine selection. Since we were there mainly to munch and visit, we stuck with appetizers. Really liked both the grilled chicken nachos (as would be expected from Manuel's, not a pile of "drunk nachos" drowned in Velveeta) and the campechana. As chilled seafood cocktail goes, Manuel's campechana was more flavorful than many I've had, and packed just enough heat to add extra interest to the dish. Two small drawbacks... we found the salsa to be a bit bland and service about halfway through the meal tapered off noticeably. Otherwise, all good and we'd definitely return.

Great food. Very slow to seat us even though we had a reservation. To be fair, the place was packed and it was a Friday night. Very nice margaritas.

Lively atmosphere, yet conversations could take place and at the same time not overheard. The best part of the experience was the wait staff. They are very professional with great attention and detail to each table, much like a $$$ or $$$$ restaurant. We will definitely return soon.

Our meal was good, but the service was horrible. We placed our drink order and, when the server came back with our drinks and chips, she left our drinks and chips to the side and proceeded to serve and take the entire order of the table next to us. We were totally dumbfounded at the lack of training and civility. Management recovered the evening for the most part, but Miss Congeniality hovered around our table for the entire evening. Plain unprofessional experience.

My out of town guest and I both had the Relleno del Mar. It is a very tasty dish with the perfect blend of scallops, lump blue crab and shrimp topped with a chile creme which provides the perfect finish. I have had several of the other menu options, which are excellent, but the Releno del Mar is my go to dish and never disappoints.
We had also had a sampling of their signature margaritas which were top notch.
