Fajitas were amazing. Wish they would have had a burrito option and more options for kids. Our server did a great job as well.
While Austin has a number of great Mexican restaurants, this is truly one of the best. Located on Congress Avenue, it's close to everything.
Great hospitality and fresh ingredients.
Excellent well prepared meal. Delicious flautas and enchiladas. Fresh guacamole and thick chips were great. Service was great and very friendly.
Super friendly service - reception, bartender, and wait staff. They accommodated my request to add people to my reservation during a super busy time - SXSW. Great spicy margarita and Pescado con Espinacas (recommended by the waiter). Very tasty. I really like the art and ambiance, especially the dining area which is quieter than the bar area.
Can't wait to go back next year!
Best food we had during our trip to Austin. Try the featured beef dish - OUTSTANDING. The mole sauce is fantastic too!!!Service was great. A must do next time we are in town!
Manuel's was lovely. The service was great. We had a nice time. The chips were yummy and different. The whole experience was good.
I got very sick from the food. Service poor as well.
Established Mexican restaurant in center of Austin. Comfortable dining rooms with low noise levels - a pleasure that one could talk without shouting over music or TVs. Food was as one would expect, margaritas were good, service was excellent - attentive while not being overbearing. We would go back.
Manuel’s was great. The chips and guacamole were great, and the frozen guava margarita was excellent! I had the chicken flautas with the suiza sauce. They were good, but a little bland.
The food came out cold, wine list was sub par. Much better dining choices in Austin and I thought the prices were high as well.
Wait staff was very busy (Saturday night dinner crowd.) Food was good but we waited quite some time for cocktails to come (ordered before appetizer served after appetizer.) Not sure I would go back.
Fabulous Food great atmosphere we had a wonderful time!!
Margaritas were so weak that we ordered shots of tequila to add to them. Pollo Mole appetizer was good. Beef fajitas were average. Special crab enchiladas delicious. Waiter was friendly and competent. Overall, our experience was good, but there are so many better choices in Austin. We would not return.
Good food in a great spot! The service was excellent.
We had a great time; good food and service and fun over all. We were all from out of town and one of the guys at the Four Seasons told us about Manuel's. He was right and when we are again in Austin, we'll be back
My family went here for my birthday dinner and were greeted nicely by the hostess but once we got sat down our server very much acted like she didn't want to be at work or serve us. She didn't like answering any questions and every question she did answer was answered with a tone that seemed like we didn't "belong" there. The food was okay but wasn't "Tex-mex" like advertised. I probably wouldn't go there again or recommend.
A friend visiting from Seattle. Good food and atmosphere.
Manuel’s is one of the best restaurants in Austin. Service is great, the ambience is warm and friendly, and the food is spectacular. I especially recommend the shrimp dishes.
Met a couple of friends while in town for a conference. I found most restaurants in Austin to be somewhat aloof. Few take reservations and it feels like they are wanting to have lines of people waiting to get in. That approach turns me off. Manuel's was very different. First of all they took reservations and they were happy to have us with all staff very welcoming and attentive.
The craft cocktails were imaginative, delicious and reasonably priced. The menu was diverse with lots of options. Food was tasty. We were able to hear each other, the staff was attentive but didn't rush us. Was a great experience.
Great atmosphere, food, service, and drinks. Even though the restaurant was busy, there was plenty of room and staff to meet our needs.
First time and enjoyed the food and drinks. The restaurant was abit hot once it started to fill up but overall was a very nice dinner.
Not a bad option by any stretch if you're looking for something downtown and easily accessible , but the food is underwhelming, and in a town with many great options for Tex-Mex, this one just doesn't make the cut.
Nice restaurant close to convention center with great food!
As always, Excellent service! Great food. My Austin preference when visiting, the Jolleyville location is my favorite.
Incredible food, and a hidden gem for
brunch. The service was impeccable, and it is really easy to get in and out due to the ability to make reservations.
Great food. Very fresh and great service. Atmosphere was lovely and my whole family enjoyed every thing we ate.
Food was cold and very bland. Everyone raves about the queso but save your money. Three stars for the great salsa and margaritas. Customer service was 4/5.
Good food and good service. Old fashioned and casual vibe.
Good food; attentive service; value priced. We will return
It wasn't terrible
Excellent imaginative cuisine served with flair and attention to detail. Plenty of wait staff so service was not an issue at all. Noise level was such that a conversation was possible without shouting. First time to visit downtown location in years but still high level of quality despite the age of the establishment.
great authentic Mexican cuisine with a great happy hour
The first time I had dinner there was over 20 years ago. The food at this location and the north location has always been fabulous!
All six of us ordered different dishes and everyone was happy. Manuel's is always consistently good and a great value.
Our waiter was Patrick.....He was really good...exceptional.....Please thank him
Wonderful ambiance great Holiday decorations just quiet enough to carry on conversations excellent service and the best mole chicken ever !
the food was excellent, the service impeccable. It was a pleasant surprise.
The food and drinks are very tasteful. The service provided is top notch everyone!
Food was alright but overpriced. Good service. Many more options for better food at better value than this restaurant.
Fresh, delicious food and cocktails- recommend the chicken mole and the skinny cucumber martini
