Fabulous visit and amazing service by the bar manager! Will definitely be back again!
Amazing food , excellent presentation and unique flavors.
Good for sharing
We were very pleased with the food we ordered but the service was lacking. The server didn't come back to ask us how our food was and if we needed anything. We had to try to get her attention several times to finally get a water refill.
The service was nice but somewhat lackadazical. Needs to be far more attentive - especially when the restaurant wasn't busy at all. The food was absolutely superb. The chef is a genius!!
Food was very good, as always. Could have been a bit warmer. But very tasty.
Great restaurant. Vibe was fun but cozy, food was outstanding. Great place for dinner with friends or a date.
This place has some of the best indian food I have ever had - portions are filling ; just delicious !
Second time visiting...delicious. The Spinach Truffle Naan is fantastic, this time we also had Hakka Chicken for an appetizer, great spicy dish. My wife had Curry Chicken and I had Beef Vindaloo for our mains, both were wonderful. So happy that Mantra is in our neighbourhood.
A beautiful restaurant with excellent Indian cuisine.
Mutton Biryani is a must try here!!
Food is good, service leaves a lot to be desired. They also play strange club-type music in there, which often had inappropriate lyrics.
Too expensive. Taste is very very average. Too much of elichi in the gravy which made the gravy taste very bad. Quqntity very less
Will certainly go back!
A very different flavour in cuisine. Very happy with service and food quality.
Nice twist to Indian food. We enjoyed the bao butterchicken appetizers and the lamb kebabs and sliders. The butter chicken was delicious, but we weren’t too impressed with the noodles. Service was good, but there were many times we needed something and had to flag down another waiter, who was happy to help.
All in all, the food was good, but very expensive. For dinner for 4 with one person ordering a beer and one of us having juice was $190 with tax and tip.
Good food, great service. You must look at beautifying the outdoor area, looks like its completely neglected with just chairs and tables.
The food was incredible, mouth watering ingredients, great variety, amazing quality and beautiful presentation.
Will be back to try the other half of the menu!
Great food and service however one issue- door left open to serve patio lets flies in from outside. Not 1/2 but probably >5. Can’t have this in a good establishment. Management needs to address. That said, the food was delicious!
I expected a lot better quality of food from an Indian Restaurant in Chicago. The lamb was so rubbery that I could hardly chew, let alone swallow. Even the basked of varied breads was so overbaked that even a knife could not cut through. I would highly advise one to avoid this restaurant.
Food was good however wouldn’t pay that price again as there are many other Indian restaurants around.
I would suggest going to this restaurant simply because the food was delicious. Our waitress however seemed distracted and slightly cold throughout the night. The restaurant was nice however I think because we went in the early evening the bar was getting stocked right beside our table. Overall because of the food we would come back.
A wonderful set up but lacks refinement. Innovative but substandard food. Customer service was inconsistent. I would visit once to experience but not go back.
The food was good but they must leave a back door open for the cooks. There were flies while we were eating (indoors).
Our first visit to this restaurant was for a Summerlicious dinner, and we will definitely return to try the regular menu. The Butter Chicken Baos were pillowy soft buns stuffed with mildly spiced chicken. The Dhokla Chaat was very tasty, as was the Vegetable Kofta Curry. Tandoori Ontario Lamb chops were very tender and quite spicy. The Indian draft beer is mild and goes well with the spicy dishes. Accompanying Naan was fresh and hot from the oven. We both enjoyed pistachio Kulfi on a Stick for dessert, and shared a Mango Lassi.
High ceilings, good ambience, great food (lamb, appetizers) and attentive service!
I really enjoyed the food. Being south Asian myself my expectations are higher then most when dining at a Indian restaurant. The food was good. It met my expectations for flavour, just as spicy as I like without taking away from the flavour. I had the samosas and tandoori momos to start. The Momos were amazing with the chutney. It was a good spin on traditional dishes. The samosas were okay. To be honest they were slightly out shined by the momos. Next I had beef vindaloo, the beef was tough and I wasn't a huge fan. The butter chicken on the other hand was amazing. I always like to get the butter chicken at restaurants because it can vary so much. One of the best I have had to be honest. It had great flavours. Paired with the naan it was perfect. I would have preferred more naan over the rice which I didn't particularly like. For dessert we had the gulab kamun and kulfi. Both really well done and fresh. The gulabs are another dish that I often get at restaurants because they can be either amazing or disgusting depending on the restaurant (It's usually how I can tell the freshness of the food). They were done perfectly golden and crisp on the outside, nice and fluffy on the inside. Not too sweet and warm enough to melt in your mouth. Service was very friendly and on point. Restaurant was beautiful with an great ambiance, however I would prefer a more traditional music choice then top 40s . Overall I would come back for the non traditional twists on classic flavours.
Made a reservation by chance and I’m sure glad I did! Food was phenomenal! Service was impeccable! We ordered a few different things and shared. Butter chicken was excellent (comparable to Sher-E-Punjab which is kind of my baseline). The lamb chops were to die for as well! I’m looking forward to trying their lamb biryani on my next visit as I will definitely be back! Only negative...they didn’t have Kingfisher beer! Maybe they’ll put it on the menu soon?!?!
Excellent food with amazing aromas! Enjoyed the butter chicken, samosas (including the pumpkin ones) and halibut in coconut curry. While the service was good with some attention to detail, it wasn't quite at the standards we were used to in the plaza. We very much enjoyed being outdoors, although the tables seemed a bit cheap and weren't very well dusted off for the dinner guests. Nevertheless, we very much enjoyed our experience and will certainly go back.
Nice varied menu. Good service and nice presentation. I have always enjoyed this restaurant and this was a nice patio summer treat.
Went for summerlicious lunch. Will definitely go back.
Food was fantastic
Wanted to try this new addition to the Host group. Food was good and despite being busy the service provided by Siya was exceptional. Bartender Caitlyn (?) was also very customer focused.
Service was a little slow, but they just got a rush of people. All in all the food was great!
I went to Mantra for Summerlicious. The choices were excellent. The food was well prepared and creatively plated.
This is a nicely done establishment that is appealing to the eye. The service is quite good but the food is only slightly better than average. The momos were overdone, the beef in vindaloo was tough, the rice was mediocre, but the naan was excellent. There was not much flavour in the Halibut, and have had much better chicken curry. The Daal on the other hand was quite tasty, and the lamb chops were very good. The chicken tikka was disappointing; overall it is hit and miss with the food, best item after three visits is the naan.
I'll definitely go back! delicious! the martini wasn't very strong, but the food was fabulous.
Food was higher end Indian food and it was delicious and nicely presented. Definitely will be going again and recommending to friends.
Food was mediocre. Felt like a mall food experience, nothing felt very traditional. It was all just "meh".
This place is just outstanding! I would be going there often!
The food was very good but I thought it was a little expensive compared to other restaurants that serve the same food
yes! loved the food and the ambiance, very different from other indian restaurants i have attended. fusion dishes like momo were AWESOME.
