Manta at The Cape a Thompson Hotel
Daily 6:00 pm–11:00 pm
The Manta at The Cape was recommended to us by a friend and it did not disappoint it far exceeded our expectations!!! Can't wait to go back when we return in November!!! We celebrated our Anniversary and I had forgotten that I mentioned it in my reservation and they surprised us with desert and complimentary champagne!!! The service was impeccable!!! The food was amazing and the ambiance was beyond gorgeous!!!
Decor was beautiful very modern and the view was breathtaking. Food was good. Small portions
Great in all ways
Super high-end place. The whole hotel is a breath taking Designed. Highly recommend if you like to try new food and experience. The mushroom tamale was out of this world and I never eat tamale 😳. The sea bass taccos was insane. In general the whole ambiance the wood and the lighting was just perfectly designed for making you feel spacial. Must go is you are in Cabo’s.
Expect a nice experience in a cool venue. The food is good---get the 4 course option and enjoy sharing.
Beautiful views of Cabo and wonderful flavorful new style Mexican food with Japanese and Peruvian influence. I highly recommend the sashimi and oysters, as well as the mushroom tamal. Will definitely go again.
Una de las mejores cenas que he tenido! La vista está increíble
Thanks very good dinner and will see again future
Amazing ambiance, food and service. Five stars all the way
Took 40 minuets after being finished to get check and leave
Food was very good and service was professional and cordial, we had a great dinner, we will be back soon!
Manta is truly incredible! We have enjoyed upper scale dining experiences all over the world but we keep coming back to Manta. The quality of the food is incredible, every dish is our favorite. On behalf of two intl’ foodies, make sure you don’t miss an opportunity to eat here. Book it...now!!
Terrible experience-overpriced loud restaurant with poor, inattentive service. Do not recommend. Go to El Farallon instead at The Resort at Pedregal for a far better high end experience.
Too expensive for Mexico. Too expensive for the quality of food. Too expensive for the wine list. The Thompson Hotel is amazing, even if expensive. The Manta restaurant is a robbery.
We visit Cabo every spring and look for new places to try. While the views at Manta are spectacular, the food was good (not great) but nowhere near the price we paid. Portions are EXTREMELY disproportionate to the price. There are better options with the same views.
Very disappointing and we'd be hard pressed to return.
Wonderful evening and great food and service! We will go again next year!
Super riquisimo. Nos gustaría ir de nuevo...
YA EXTRANAMOS LA COMIDA , EL AMBIENTE Y LA ATARDECER...
We loved eating at Manta. Not only is the view spectacular the food and service is amazing. We actually are there twice in one week.
Excelente Restaurante con una hermosa vista. Muy buena comida y buen servicio.
nice restaurant but very very expensive.
I have went to the best restaurants in many places of the world but these one is by far one of the most expensive places I ever been.
so thats changes everything, food is good but is not worth it
It was the so amazing the service the food the views this is a must do when in CA I we ordered the family style 5 course dinner it was the best ever!!!!!
Do Not Miss!!!!
The setting is beautiful but the food disappointing. Their specialty fried chicken are chicken nuggets priced to the sky. The black miso fish tacos are regular fish tacos priced sky high.
We did the chef’s selection family style and our waiter was very knowledgeable about all of the courses and how the food was prepared. It was expensive but all of The food was fabulous and we loved the experience.
This restaurant and bar is very sheik, modern and the vibe is great not to mention the view. It has a very unique menu in some instances but tasty, fresh and definitely make sure to go there hungry so you can try a few of the options to share. The Ahi was just as fresh as if you were off a boat fishing yourself and eating "just caught". I would definitely go back here again and strongly recommend it to people trying to get away from the "traditional mexican" cuisine or vibe!
Enrique Olvera’s food shines at this fun and inviting restaurant. Although The service and atmosphere are not to go unmentioned as they alone would be reasons to visit the trendy and sophisticated cove. The wine list is wonderful as they cover all areas and include some wonderful wines from Mexico. The cocktails match the menu well and the staff can speak to all of the offerings eloquently.
I wouldn’t miss this seafood restaurant with Japanese omasaki inspiration. We had spectacular food (letting the chef do his thing) with the 4 course tasting. I wouldn’t have expected some if the dishes yet wouldn’t change a single thing as the combinations were comforting, playful and traditional feeling like they all belonged together.
Get there early and grab a drink and appetizer on the room, for yet another great view of Cabo San Lucas.
Extraordinario restaurante, comida deliciosa, 100% recomendable. Servicio excelente.
Great Rooftop Bar
We sent back wagyu beef because it was pure fat. Then sent back the fish of the day twice because it was missing the sauce then came back cold.
For expensive pricing in an upscale hotel the food was less than average.
Definitely not worth the trip nor the money.
This was our 2nd time to Manta. Went last October and loved it but this time was disappointing. We started with the miso fish tacos and those were very good.
For dinner we ordered the catch up the day, sea bass. I asked if it came with any sides and they said no. The menu sides were sweet potatoes for $32 or rice for $22! So
we decided to just go with the meal. They served the fish in a small bowl on a piece of lettuce. The smallest portion of fish I’ve ever had. Looked more like an
appetizer. Was also extremely spicy hot! So hot I couldn’t eat it. I told our waiter and he offered to bring me another order of fish tacos instead yet still
charged us for the sea bass. The waiter spoke English so fast that we had a hard time understanding him. They also had a lack luster attitude and never smiled.
I told them that my water glass was chipped and after they replaced it they wanted to charge me for another bottle of water. My husband said but her last glass was chipped. Then another waiter said they won’t charge us for the water. The bill was expensive but we knew it would be going in, yet we thought we’d get excellent service with good food. We got neither. Won’t be back.
We had a reservation for an indoor able, ended up waiting 25 minutes only to be seated outside on a very windy night (and surrounded by open tables), which really ruined the experience. We literally had garnishes blowing off of our plate, and the food became cold almost immediately. Food wasn't bad but definitely wasn't worth the price. Almost $30 for the fried chicken which turned out to basically be 4 chicken tenders with a bland sauce. Seafood was good, would recommend limiting your order to that.
We were very excited to eat here as the hotel is magnificent and the restaurants looks spectacular . The service was excellent, the sommelier came to our table ( we sat outside T 7:00 pm to see the views of the beach ) he asked us if we wanted a recommendation but we decided to have the sake the waiter recommended instead it was delicious, $17.00 a glass but worth it .
I ordered the blue fin Tuna sashimi to start and my husband got the watermelon salad both very fresh and delicious . When we received our entree the “ catch of the day “ sea bass we were disappointed as the dish looked more like an appetizer then an entree it was very tiny and we finished it in about 3 seconds, it was less then 3-4 oz of food for $33.00 each . We actually thought he split our entree ... we were still hungry and took another look at the menu to see what else we could eat but at that point just got dessert . That was good it was a chocolate sponge cake with vanilla ice cream for $15.00.
All in all it was a beautiful restaurant but potions are tiny so just be aware of that . Service was excellent!
Nice place. Wine way over priced even for an a high end Restaurant.
Excellent views with outside seating. Service is quite good but value is terrible. Charging $28 for 3 pieces of sashimi is outrageous. Wonderful dish but the prices for appetizers are not in line with other great dinning options in Cabo. Guacamole and chips are also very mediocre and not well seasoned. Fish of the day was very good but be warned... all portions are quite small. . Fish tacos were also average flavor. Not sure if it was an off night but no one in our party felt this was a dinner worth the big price tag.
Setting , desserts and service are the highlight. There are better dinning options if you are looking for a memorable meal.
One of the coolest places I’ve ever been to a destination holiday!
Wonderful setting. Over the top food. Pan Pacific style fare.
