Manpuku Tokyo BBQ West Los Angeles
We had an amazing experience at Manpuku! The restaurant was clean. The foods were delicious. The service was great! Thank you for a memorable night.
Our waitress was very helpful and patient with our group. Food was delicious! I now know to order the larger platters of meat for next time. Those suckers go fast when with a group.
This is my son's favorite spot! If you are in the market for Japanese BBQ, this is your spot. Nestled in a little strip mall in the trendy Sawtelle neighborhood, this could easily be missed. You are best off to get a reservation (lunch and dinner), but the great news is valet parking is free right in front of the restaurant (a rarity on Sawtelle). Try the lunch specials- the beef is delicious, but so are the shrimp and veggies. We recommend the Rosu which is the thinly sliced ribeye. So delicious. Ask for bowls of steamed rice if you are not on the lunch combo, and they are happy to bring you ponzu sauce, lemon, or soy as needed. It's simple and delicious and you will definitely leave satisfied!!
Food is excellent. services as amazing.
Here is NO.1 Japanese BBQ place in LA.
I’ll be back soon.
Nice atmosphere. Prompt seating with reservation. Food smelled amazing. Too bad we never got to eat. As I do when making any reservation at a restaurant. I check the menu to see if it’s something we’d enjoy. The menu posted on Open Table looked like something we’d enjoy and the prices were comparable to that of our favorite Asian style BBQ, Gyu-Kaku. Once seated and looking over the menu I noticed a MAJOR discrepancy. The prices on the in store menu were in most cases doubled what was posted on Open Table. The price ranges we thought were $6.50-$15 for 3.5oz portions (similar to Gyu-Kaku) were really $12-$23 per 3.5oz portions. When I showed the waitress this major discrepancy she said she couldn’t explain why such a drastic difference. She spoke with the manager, neither could he. We decided to go to another BBQ place instead.
I frequent places like Fleming’s, Mastro’s, Del Frisco, etc... While I don’t mind spending money on good food. I didn’t like the blatant difference in prices. A couple dollars might have been ok. Doubled prices, no thanks.
Probably won’t ever return.
Manpuku staff are wonderful! I highly recommend this restaurant!
Amazing as always!
went here for a double date with friends. i was from out of town and my friend recommended this restaurant. the food was great! we ordered the set menu and it was plenty of food for the four of us!
booked via opentable but didn’t the ⭐️ 100 points
The food is not that good for the price. Everything was over marinated and the garlic rice was just awful.
There's a grill spot in downtown Tokyo for half the price with a restaurant kid (child of the owners I presume) running around but I'd rather eat there. They don't over marinate their meat.
I've been going to Manpuku since they opened. It is by far one of the better Yakiniku places on the Westside.
Eat here a lot, great service, easy complementary valet parking, good food, well priced. Super casual quick meal
Wonderful experience, awesome service, great food!
Amazing experience as usual!
Limited options on menu especially for vegetarians. Bibimbop was good, vegetarian only. Some beef cuts were great. Gyu Kaku a little better because of more and tastier sauces and more options on the menu.
Amazing food! One of my new favorite restaurants in LA
Excellent Japanese bbq experience. Enjoyed the variety in the course meals. The grill was too hot and was cooking the meats too fast, felt rushed the entire time with the waitress trying to take away plates that we were not finished with
Just good. Still nice. That’s all
I have been coming here for years and it is hands down my favorite Japan BBQ
It was a good/ different experience
We went there because of good reviews. Their service is excellent Japanese quality that I was expected. Food is great. I defenitelly recommend if you want to eat Japanese Yakiniku and great service!
People nice. Busy and fast service. We had an early reservation and they made sure we were finished in under an hour. Beef quality decent but 7pieces 3 inch long and 1/8 inch thick slices of tri tip for $14? You cook everything yourself so the prices are definitely too high. The reviews were so good thought we would give it a try.
I love this place, got there all the time.
Great food. I like that the servers are mostly from Japan, too. Gives it a great ambiance.
Took the wife here for Valentine's Day and Birthday combined. It was a very enjoyable evening. We ordered the first combo set for 2 for around $50 a person. We were pretty much full at the end of the evening.
Easy park for weekday lunch and good service and value.
The meat is not marinated well, so the flavor is lacking
Meat quality is great. Authentic flavors. My favorite Japanese BBQ in town.
Great place to enjoy great food. The prices are very reasonable and the quality of the food is excellent. The service was impeccable
Loved it! Excellent service, amazing experience.
Was beyond our expectations. Would also like to try other locations.
Fresh food quality. Authentic Japanese Yakiniku BBQ. Friendly service. Nice selection Japanese Beer, Sake and Shochu etc.
Went there for lunch and found the food to be very good at a reasonable price. Expect to go again very soon.
