Mannino's Cucina Italiana
The food is incredible. The gnocchi’s are home made and they are the best that I have ever had. My only disappointment is that five of us were squashed into a four-person table which was uncomfortable.
nice BYOB Italian restaurant in quaint Pitman downtown. not a pizza type place - Servers were very good - enjoyed the Osso Bucco and the veal Marsala. Calamari was very good. Pasta was fine though did not taste like restaurant made. New year's Eve dinner - disappointment that we were seated 30 minutes after the time of our 8:15 open table reservation. hostess was considerate about this -
Phenomenal in every aspect! Top notch service and quality! Excellent service and truly accommodating. A hidden gem in our area. True olde school Italian! Highly recommended!
When I arrived with my party of 6 I was met with very angry people that have been waiting over 1 hour for their reservation. After waiting over 20 minutes I had to track down the hostess to tell her I was here and that my reservation was for 7. I was told that they were running an hour behind because a party of 12 arrived one hour late. Unfortunately I had a manager from a well known restaurant in Gloucester County with our party and he was addressing and trying to explain the situation to your customers that were waiting. I must say when we were finally shown (45 minutes after my reservation) to a table the food was very good. I am hoping this was just an isolated problem and might give it a try again.
Tasty food, very clean but little pricey
I made reservations several days in advance and when my wife and I arrived 15 minutes early, we were seated in my. The restaurant was very busy with many holiday parties being celebrated.
The waiter was busy with several large parties; however, he did treat us okay. The food was good even though it took a while to be served. We had more than enough food and took some home.
I felt that the price was a little high considering the room was noisy and the food compared to a good, not great, restaurant.
This was our first visit and will probably be our last.
If you are having a party and do not mind the loud noise level, this would be a good place to go, especially if the company were paying the bill.
Food was good, service was very good, value was not good
Food was very overpriced considering quality and quantity
Based on comparable restaurants, food was overpriced by about 30%
No need to go back
We have been here a number of times while attending shows at the Pitman Theater.
Made a reservation for 6:15pm and arrived to find they were backed up due to people not leaving their tables from earlier reservations. Had to wait about 15 to 20 minutes which was not a problem though a couple of people were not happy.
The food is always great here but we did find it was a lot more salty than previous trips here.
We had a great waitress and the rest of the staff was very attentive.
The next time we go we will make sure to ask them to try and cut down on the salt added to the meals.
The prices have gone up a bit more from our last visit during the spring, but worth it for the good food and FYI, great bread!
This was our first time dining at Mannino"s. We were pleasantly surprised. Eggplant parm was excellent. Super sauce! Pasta with clams was another winner with small, tasty baby clams and loads of them. Will absolutely refun. A gem in a small town!
a lot of dinners were being brought back into the kitchen, including mine. Over priced. Room temperature
water and no house salad with meal.
This was a great restaurant! We wanted something fairly close to the Pitman Theater and Mannino's was excellent. Nice service and friendly environment. I would recommend and definitely go again.
I have a very hard time finding places that will prepare good food for me according to my dietary needs. From my first visit, this chef was more than willing and had the knowledge to do it. Every time I've gone, everyone has thoroughly enjoyed their meal.
The Italian food we had was very good. I don't recommend the cheese steak egg rolls. The dough was greasy and over cooked. The seafood bisque was outstanding; shrimp, calamari, crab and fish in a light bisque was delicious. I did have to ask for olive oil for my bread.
Everything is delicious, excellent service, ambiance good.My only complaint is noisy!!Maybe would help if they spaced out there seating a bit.Would not want to dine on a busy nite too loud .Food excellent as usual!!!
Pretty dining room but noise level was high. Service was decent. The food was unfortunately disappointing; definitely not worth the price. The menu presentation and prices indicate a gourmet meal is on the way, and it's just not. In my opinion they need to shrink their menu and focus on the quality and freshness of their ingredients and recipes.
Food and atmosphere were good, but the service felt very rushed. That being said, we would definitely go back and give it another try.
great dinner second time dining there only issue is portions too BIG LOL
I was pretty disappointed in the whole experience. It started when we walked in and were barely greeted by the hostess. She brushed off that I had a reservation and was told to hold on for a minute while she found a place to put us. She then told us to "sit there, I don't have a server for you but I'll find one." A server did come over quickly, but barely spoke to us - simply pointed at the specials menu. He didn't pour our wine either although that may be due to local laws. He took our order, dropped each course and quickly moved along. It was almost like we were his last table of the night and he wanted us out as soon as possible.
Food was good (Lobster Ravioli and Veal Tortellini as well as antipasto appetizer) but overpriced. Over $100 for 2 people at a BYOB is too high. Layout and ambiance of restaurant was nice. If the prices weren't so high, I'd consider giving it another chance, but unlikely to return.
We first came to Mannino's Cucina in August prior to seeing a show at BTOP, and our dinning experience then was wonderful. We talked about how great the food was and how attentive our waiter was for weeks afterwards and it was then that I decided to come here to celebrate my 60th birthday.
Our next visit in October was a complete 180 from the first. Our waitress's attitude was brisk and gruff. She gave off the feeling that she would rather be somewhere other than at work. We were handed our menu's and the special's list without recommendiations or asked if we had questions. When our food arrived, all four of our meals were tasteless. We had ordered the Rigatoni De Pesto, Salmon Alla Olga, Mannino's Cioppino, and Veal Saltimbocca. Needless to say the evening was a huge disappointment.
Food was great but service was awful. At the end of the dinner we felt rushed to leave so they could close. The closing time is posted as 10 but at 9 they were rushing us out.
The best seafood bisque soup that I've ever had. Worth the visit.
Basically I enjoyed my meal here. The service was very good and the food was very tasty. My only complaint was that the portion size was small for the price and the entree did not include a salad or soup . I would return if we were going to another show at the Broadway Theater but would possibly try a different restaurant in Pitman.
Enjoyed our visit. Lena was an amazing, accommodating and pleasant server. She is a gem!
The lady at the front didn't even have me on the list of reservations even though I made them weeks ago. I would not recommend this place. The staff was rude. Our server (Oscar) was miserable. He gave us the check came back 3 times tapped in the check I guess for us to pay. Two of us went to the restroom and the bus boys pretty much cleared the table and told my friend she had to leave they needed the table for the next guest. They expect you to eat and rush out the door. The food was great but service rude we won't be back!
Food is always delicious here. We were pleased our group of 10 was seated at a round table where we could all visit easily.
The hostess was a little rude to us. She kept insisting that our number of people was more. The noise level was very distracting. Although our service was very good as soon as we were finishing up our dinner they started to clear our table. They even removed our water glasses before we received our check
I do not think that I will return.
Excellent authentic and creative Italiana cuisine. Very flavorful! But pricey when you consider everything is À la cart . Can’t afford to frequent often. Special occasion restaurant only!
Dinner before a show, place was packed with other show-goers. Service was slow due to the crowd no doubt. Should have told the waitress we were there for the show but since the restaurant is across the street from the theater with a show that night, it should have been a forgone conclusion.
The host took $10 off the meal for the wait without asking. That was a nice gesture.
Faroe Island Salmon on bed of fettucini puttanesca was very good. Wife had chicken piccata which was a bit overcooked.
We went to Mannino's on a Friday night. You need to make reservations since it is right across the street from the Broadway theater. Many theater goes go to the restaurant prior to the show so it was packed. It is small and the tables are close but our party was able to hear each other (there were 6 of us). The pasta was wonderful and the seafood was fresh. Our server, Janae was friendly and accommodating. IT is a BYOB which is a plus. Once the theater crowd left, the noise level dropped and we enjoyed the rest of our meal. I would definitely go back!
Food was good , normal portions not gigantic but who needs leftovers or stuffing yourself. We had two appetizers and shared an entree and it was plenty of food for two. Service not great. The bus people kept trying to take our plates away that still had food on them, one point I still had my fork in my hand eating off the plate. The restaurant was crowded and way too noisy.
We often dine here prior to a Broadway Theater plays on Friday nights. Food, service is always very good.
While the food was good I was quite surprised that we both finished our entire meal. We usually have leftovers and we did the last time that we were at this establishment. My friend ordered chicken saltimbocca but received and was charged for veal. The service was good. Their website needs to be updated also as several items on the website were not on the current menu most specifically the wine options.
The restaurant was amazing. Great food, wonderful server and lovely atmosphere. No one left unsatisfied or hungry!!!!! Even people who know authentic Italian food loved it. Great place to eat early before a show at the Broadway Theater of Pitman.
We went as a party of 7 for a birthday dinner. Some picky eaters in the group. The entire experience from start to finish was excellent. The host sat us right away, the waiter was kind, knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. The manager or (?owner?) checked on us a few times to check on us and even clear dishes. The food was delicious. People may say it's pricy, but the portions were great and quality was perfect. I enjoyed my leftovers too. I will definitely be back soon!
We Love dining here! Service & Food are always fabulous.
From the Caesar and Caprese salads to our two pasta dishes to our house-created desserts, the food was fabulous, albeit a bit pricey (as other reviewers have mentioned). The service was on-par with a top-notch establishment.
The only negative in our whole dining experience: the wine list. Judging by the menu on their website, we thought we'd be able to get a half bottle at a more affordable price, but since we REALLY wanted a nice red with our pasta and we did not bring our own, we wound up paying $33 for a bottle of Cab ($3 more than cited on the web). Understood, the local winery they partner with sets the prices, but Mannino's should update their website to reflect those changes. We mentally budgeted $16 and paid more than twice that. Fortunately, the food and service eclipsed this minor irritation.
Highest recommendation for the Gnocchi al Forno (in Pomodoro sauce) and the bread pudding.
The food and service were very good, but I think $36 for an entree (no salad, dessert, no tip, etc) is a lot to charge for a small restaurant in Pitman ,NJ.
Hands down the best Italian food in South Jersey Everything is made from scratch
