What a wonderful Easter Brunch - it could not have been more perfect. The food was delicious and service was incredible. Thank you Mankas Grill - you've done it again!
We are regulars here....they are a fantastic restaurant where we feel like family. The food is AMAZING! We love this place. Have supported them through the pandemic with take out and SO EXCITED to finally be Dining here again! You have to come!
Everything we had was really good. Our server was great, and cocktails were yummy. I do wish they had a couple more choices appetizers, but overall a great experience
So pleased to have this local treasure, made new by Jason and his brother, reopen for dining. We booked through Open Table, noting it was an anniversary, and Mankas Grill sweetly and discretely dropped an Anniversary card to table, signed by all. Lovely gesture, topped by ice cream and chocolate sauce to share. I missed the fried chicken which had been a staple on the menu, as well as the potato tartine and gazpacho, shown on the website, but not offered on the new menu. Okay, it’s a pandemic, you can’t have everything at once!. We substituted oysters on the half shell, which were fabulous with their vinegary mignonette, and the nachos and an artichoke grilled perfectly. My husband and I both ordered shrimp over polenta (or risotto?😜), which was delicious, and our son enjoyed their amazing ribs.
Service was impeccable. We were worried about being seated indoors, with no masks in sight except for servers, but we are fully vaccinated. It was still a little scary, but the distancing was perfect, and we have many memories in the back dining room, so it felt like a homecoming. Outstanding.
The Beef Short Ribs were delicious and the Pasta Bolognase made with rigatoni was a hit. The service could not have been better.
This was our first indoor dining experience after being vaccinated. It was also the first visit after new ownership. The food was very good. The ribeye steak was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. The meat was tender and juicy without being fatty like some ribeyes can be. Better than any steak I’ve had at Press in St. Helena. The mashed potatoes were delicious. The vegetables (green beans) were garden fresh and perfectly cooked, with still a bit of snap to them without being undercooked. Lobster bisque was good. Grilled artichoke was good. Lovely lemon aioli to go with it. We didn’t have room for dessert. We plan on going back when we are in the area again. The service was good.
Was not impressed with pasta. $23 small plate and Was not good.
Fantastic service and food! Enjoyed a wonderful evening out for a birthday celebration.
Ate downstairs. Very quiet. All four of us enjoyed our food and service was outstanindg.
Our server Greyson was excellent and checked on us regularly. Great experience our first time abs will be go back to try their signature tomahawk steak. The decor inside was also very inviting. We at outdoors at the patio and that was delightful too. I highly recommend this restaurant for the area.
Halibut was superb. Lambchops that were out of Dixon (instead of imported from Australia) and super moist and delicious. Served with creamed potatoes and green beans also delicious. Portions small but just right for us. Don't expect huge gut stuffing meals.
Excellent food, excellent drinks, excellent ambiance. They accommodated our request with care and great hospitality. We love this place! Salmon and ribs were to die for. And the appetizers.....so scrumptious.
This is my wife and I first time to Mankas Grill under new ownership. What a pleasant surprise.... Welcoming staff / ambiance and decor was modern and fitting for the area / and most importantly the drink and food menu was so greatly improved. My main complaint of past several owners was the menu seldom changed; but the new ownership has brought new ideas / fresh ingredients and food preparation that resulted in a wonderful lunch....We will be back! Thank you for hanging in there during tough Covid times and bringing life back to Mankas Corner with other surrounding business's!
It was awesome! Grayson was awesome!
Everyone in town decided to eat out when I went, so suffice it to say, they were busy... the tables were set up so people can still social distance, and my table had a bottle of antibacterial gel to use - presented nicely that it blended with the surroundings.
The food and service were phenomenal - a huge improvement from my last visit. I had the lamb and it was yummy... so were the wine, cocktails, and creme brulee
Kudos to the new management and team!
Superb! Wonderful food and service... highly recommend!
Food was AMAZING. So happy that the grill is under new ownership. We will definitely be back.
This is a beautiful restaurant in a lovely rural setting whose appeal is undeniable. Unfortunately, the quality of the food and the cost-to-portion ratio was extreme (San Francisco prices for appetizer-sized entrees).
The cajun shrimp with grits was delicious but for $24 you expect more than five small shrimp (not even jumbo shrimp) in a small shallow bowl. Following this "entree" I was comped an appetizer of chicken wings that were so salty I had to pull off the breading. They were also the smallest wings I have ever seen.
We also had the pasta Bolognese which was adequate although the pasta, which was cooked well with a good meat sauce, was not homemade. Again, a small bowl for $22 was not enough to satisfy one's appetite.
We tried dessert. The Creme Brulee was not homemade and the Caramel Torte had an overcooked, oreo-like crust. We did not finish either dessert.
If we had not brought our own bottle of wine from Vezar (next door and well worth a visit) the cost would have been ridiculously high.
For the cost of our meal, one would have expected homemade ingredients and fair portions.
We did not take advantage of any of the house cocktails but they appear to have a very nice bar and this would certainly be an elegant stop for a drink and the ambiance. In that regard, I would recommend it but the restaurant has a long way to go before they can justify the prices they charge.
This place is a great place to eat and have good local wine.
Nice ambience and the food was pretty good. The wait staff was excellent..Decent prices.
Lamb was perfect, pasta great, cocktails went down too easy and the lobster bisque, a staple. Love this place!
I ordered lobster busk
Happy they had it
This is the only item I can eat there
This is the only restaurant I eat in Fairfield
Soup was god
Lobster to be found

My husband will always go there for business
Will rethink or need to find some alternatives
Great location with backroads dining atmosphere .
very sad that the gov closed down restaurants but big box stores are open. I truly hope Mankas Grill can weather this storm. The food is wonderful, the service is good and we will continue to come back to this place in the Susuin wine country!
Always outstanding food and service! Great wine list and also fun cocktails too
Food and service are fantastic. They have gone above and beyond to make outdoor dining very comfortable and safe.
Holding their heads high in these trying times and still providing excellent food and service for an affordable price.
Mankas Grill gets 5 stars! The food is excellently prepared and served. It's located right here in Fairfield. The staff is prompt, accessible, accessible, and polite. Even though there is only outdoor dining, the allocated area is well constructed, complete with fireplace and heaters, and very comfortable. AND the prices are affordable and reasonable. Wonderful experience!
Excellent!! Loved the food and all of the people there!!
We love your restaurant!
Mankas Grill is a lovely restaurant with excellent food, attentive staff, and wine country atmosphere. I have been here numerous times and always enjoyed the experience!
Even with outdoor dining this is a good place to eat. We’ve ate brunch here twice.
I had the short ribs benedict. I rated the food as good, mainly because the eggs were super runny. I probably should have asked for over medium. Hubby’s waffles & bacon was really good.
The Bloody Mary was yummy.
Awesome place. One of few places still open and very good.
We had a beautiful dinner in the patio, with the fireplace going and warmth coming down from the heat lamps. The pasta was amazing as well as my White Linen drink! The ambiance is simply fantastic - I highly recommend a visit!
Beautiful and Covid appropriate for socially distant dining.
Free corkage for Vezer Vineyards members.
Country location, excellent service, quality food for affordable prices.
Excellent service and the food was amazing.
They need more parking spaces.
Mankas Grill continues to be a great place to go for excellent food and service. Today I had the lobster Benedict- incredible!
