It's Happy Hour at The House everyday from 5:00pm-6:30pm! Food and drink specials!
The dining situation is currently in their parking lot, which has a slight slope and not much protection from the wind in the rare times that we have one. That said, they're doing everything possible to make it a good space, and it is a very relaxing experience. The food is superb and modestly priced, staff attentive, and after two visits in a week we're ready to go back. .
Service was awesome, drinks fantastic and pizza, pasta was delicious!!
Never disappoints. Food is fabulous. Don’t miss the brick chicken!
Atmosphere is good. Food was extremely salty. Inedible. Service staff was friendly and accommodating despite the big miss on food. Won’t go back though
I wasn’t sure when I first pulled up. The outside is somewhat suspect. But once we went in and started drinking and ordering it was very nice. The food was good. The bread was delish. We stayed way over the time they closed and the staff was not very happy but didn’t say anything. Oh well. I would probably go back
Food was excellent, service was excellent!
The hostess nearly ruined the evening. She forgot to give roses to some guests. Spent too long chatting with some tables and ignoring arriving guests. Left guests standing 20 minutes past reservations when there were tables open which eventually held those guests that had to wait.
Didn’t care for the prices and the food. Was decent at best but overall felt the value lacked
A bit disappointing. First off, the service was sub par. The cadence of the food being brought out of the kitchen was off. We did a price fix menu for the adults and
Stopped by with friends that were in town for happy hour on a Monday - obviously had our pick of the place but business picked up shortly after. Attentive service, good HH prices and selection - i think we ran the table on HH apps offered. I'll be back!
Really great dining experience. Everyone enjoyed their meal, we loved sitting near the fireplace, and the service was courteous and helpful. I've always had a good time here.
They didn’t serve bread! Service in beginning was slow but then picked up. 4 scallops for $30 to me wasn’t worth it then 4 itty bitty pieces of lobster in my pasta for $26? Would have to think twice before going back! The house Chianti was not available they were out which was supposed to be available for happy hour!
This is great neighborhood restaurant away from all the tourists in downtown MB. The bar is great and the cocktails are all well done. For appetizers, the sourdough with burrata and the lamb meatballs are a must. The wagyu skirt steak was tender and delicious. The rest of our party all had pasta - the tagliatelle with meat ragu is hearty and it's tough to put your fork down. The porcini risotto was drizzled with an aged balsamic which gave it a great taste. We'll keep going back.
Everyone that works there is super helpful and sweet
Dead inside at prime time and for good reason. The food is terrible.
What happened? I was just here in December and the food was great, Robin was our server and was phenomenal, no complaints about anything. I went for a business dinner with 5 other people and was unpleasantly surprised with the spotty service and lackluster food. The pork tomahawk and half of the charcuterie board was good. Wagyu steak wasn't cooked to proper temp as ordered and cut the wrong way so it was wasted quality beef. The cucumber collins (part of the reason for my return) didn't pack the same flavor and was disappointing because I had told my colleagues it was really good. It was even on the happy hour menu. If you're not gonna get the food 100% right, at least get the cocktails right. Yikes.
Super cozy and loved my lobster pasta.
Birthday dinner for my wife was a success. Food was delicious
Loved it from start to finish! Relaxed atmosphere with polished yet comfortable service. Food was delicious and portions were huge, ended up taking some home with me.
Really found a gem! A refreshingly great meal and very cool place in Manhattan Beach. Service, food and vibe was fantastic. Without a doubt, my new favorite place in all of the South Bay!
Very disappointing and I am not that choosy Because this place was convenient to where we were staying, but I would never go back. I ordered something with seafood and it ended up with duck in it and on the menu it said nothing about duck in that dish and it tasted like it had spoiled. I ordered the warm salad and it was one big piece of bitter wilted something with maybe and go on it but actually it tasted like sawdust and I was not able to eat it at all. None of this was OK. My husband ordered something that he did eat. The waiter was a very sweet guy and it was regretful of the whole situation. I would definitely say go somewhere else, sadly. The fireplace looked nice.
Service was excellent. The beers were very good. Had the cauliflower very delicious! The duck pasta was very good, the wagyu skirt steak was a little chewy. Unfortunately there was a big party in the bar that made the noise level very high. That was kind of a bummer. Also, a little bit on the pricey side.
Good but I feel like it’s struggling. The menu changes. Not many guests. I hope it lasts.
We tried the grilled artichokes (fabulous), roasted butternut squash (very sweet) along with the following entrees: chicken, pasta with crab, and the hamburger. All were fantastic. Chicken was a huge portion and very tender. Pasta with crab was so flavorful. Hamburger was HUGE and cooked to perfection. I wouldn't hesitate to go back!
I've been here a few times and it's always been pretty decent. This last time was kind of disappointing though. I came in with my 2 kids at 6pm on a Saturday night, my wife was out of town. I ordered a beer and waited 15 minutes for it to arrive, while the restaurant was maybe 1/4 full. Although there seemed to be a lot of waitstaff they all seem to go from the bar to the kitchen, back to the bar, back to the kitchen. When I was a server I always walked around my tables and scanned for anything they may need. I had to order a second drink from a busboy as I had not seen my server for so long. I later had to flag down my server to ask for another drink. We all had burgers for dinner which were pretty decent, although at $12 for a kids cheeseburger, they're exactly reasonably priced (fries are extra). I ordered the ice cream sandwich for my kids for dessert and I tasted one of the cookies and it tasted as though the cookie had sat in the cupboard for a month before being used to make ice cream sandwiches. Really disappointing. I really want this place to succeed as it seems like a great spot, but it's really going in the wrong direction. They need to get some fire in the waitstaff....
This is my go to place for most family dinners/special occasions. Great value and service.
Always an easy place to go to with guaranteed good food and service.
I like the chill vibe of this restaurant. We were able to take our time and enjoy our food and conversation without feeling rushed out. Food was delicious and service was very friendly.
Robin was FANTASTIC! Super helpful and funny. We never were thirsty! Thanks, Robin!
First time eating here and it was selected based on reviews and location. The atmosphere was exactly what we wanted, relatively quiet, good music and a waitress who was very attentive.
The place was a little more than half empty at 7:30 PM on a Saturday night if that tells you anything.
The homemade sourdough bread was amazing and well worth the $3 they charged.
We ordered the Brussel Sprouts which were a little undercooked, but still very good.
I had the whole branzino which was a bit overwhelmed by the mixture of greens, tomatoes, etc. it was not as good as I hoped given the reviews I read. I would not recommend it.
My wife had the chicken which she thought was ok. It was overly smokey according to her. I like smokey so I likely would give it a higher rating.
Our friend had the scallops which he ate and thought was ok.
They made a fresh pot of coffee at our request so they are very accommodating.
I don't know if the other items on the menu would have been better for us. Regardless, I wouldn't object returning, I just wouldn't go out of my way to do so. Parking is free and plentiful.
Great food and yummy cocktails
Manhattan House was a last minute, late evening decision for my husband and myself. What a great choice. The food was the best food we've eaten in a long time - the melon, prosciutto dish was to die for as well as the pasta which was obviously made in house.
We sat at the bar to catch some football and had wonderful conversation with the bar tender and the owner, who was siting near by.
I highly recommend for a group meal or a date night. Top notch neighborhood spot
It was very good food. The place is a bit cramped with tables very close together. The servers and staff are accommodating and very friendly.
