Manhattan Beach Post Ratings and Reviews
Outstanding cocktails. Great service - accommodated my food allergies and helped identify safe choices. We should have come a little hungrier but everything we ate was delicious. Good idea to get several plates to share.
We went around 7:30 on a Friday night so it was unfortunately really loud, making it hard to have a conversation, but that’s my only complaint. Will return at a less popular time to really enjoy it.
AMAZING! The food is incredible. The restaurant is just cool. Wait staff are great. And the best are the hostesses/managers who really make you feel welcome and really handle the crowd so well. Love the envelope with your name on it that contains the menus if you reserve ... oooh lala.
Brought my niece for her Birthday and Christina our server was awesome cute, bubbly, fantastic personality.Makes you feel right at home. And the food as always was great.Cheesy Eggs,Steak, and the stuffed French Toast was amazing. And those biscuits mmmm.Always a great experience eating at this establishment.
This place is very relaxed. I liked the variety of dishes and that they are sourced with sustainability in mind. The menu was eclectic. The Bacon Cheddar Biscuits with maple butter are a great starter to go with your drink. I had a spicy margarita which was excellent. In terms of other dishes the scallops and the pasta with octopus were fantastic. Many dishes come in small cast iron pans, which are very hot and if there are two of them on the table at the same time, a table for two gets a little crowded. The service was friendly and relaxed. I will definitely be back.
First time there. The wine was good. Bisquits were best part of the meal — really yummy. Scallops and greenbeans were good. The trout was overcooked and dry. Didn’t care for waitress. Tables are arranged too close together so waitress stood behind me to address me, which was annoying. She apparently was bothered that I sent a hot plate of green beans back because she served it and quickly walked away before serving the charcuterie, even though she told me she would serve the hot items together after the cold. She bounced it back hard on the table after taking the charcuterie board away. Whatever. Menu is cluttered and doesn’t accurately describe the items or how they are prepared. Scallops were supposed to have a sauce, but were just sprinkled with some corn kernals, which was odd and did not really go with the scallops. They were well cooked though. Overall, I was disappointed because I heard this place was really good and was expecting a better dining experience. It was just ok. Maybe it’s better for just cocktails.
I made a reservation a few days prior to the date I went and I input a comment that it was my girlfriends birthday. On the day of the reservation I called and asked if they did anything for birthdays and she said they'll bring a free birthday dessert out. Our server was knowledgeable and we even had that envelope that MBpost wrote Happy Birthday with the menus inside of it, but no birthday dessert came out. I wanted to make it special for my gf and made sure that a birthday dessert w a candle came out, but left very disappointed.
A long-standing neighborhood gem so close to the beach, you can practically smell the ocean. The food has old and new dishes with exciting twists & high-quality ingredients. The Bacon-Cheddar Buttermilk Biscuits are probably the most popular thing on the menu, and definitely something you don't want to miss.
Everything else is also amazing, and whatever you get- whether the Truffle Honeyed Fried Chicken, the Corned Beef Hash with a sunny-side-up egg, or any other of their amazing options- is sure to please. My favorite, next to those biscuits, is the Ricotta-Stuffed French Toast with Bartlett Pears & candied almonds; creamy & perfectly-sweet without being overpowering, this is definitely not one that you'll want to share.
The cocktails are great & offer a little bit of everything from sweetness to bitterness to spice. Or coffee. Their coffee is decent, too.
We were meeting an out of town guest who arrived on time and ordered a food item while she waited on us as we were 30 min. late. Not only did she not receive it we had to remind server after we arrived. The same thing happened with one of our entrees. I was also a little underwhelmed with a few of the dishes, as I had really enjoyed brunch her a few months back.
