Manhattan Beach Post Ratings and Reviews
MB Post never disappoints. First time to the Sunday brunch and it’s as good as dinner. We got several plates to share - ricotta stuffed French toast, eggs crostino with mushrooms and Swiss chard, croque madam- all cooked to perfection. We also thoroughly enjoyed the Illy coffee.
Coo;, fun place. Excellent food, but a little pricey for what you get. The service was good, but a little on the pretentious side. The place was quite loud with people talking and the background music was played really loud, making it so you had to yell to talk to one another.
MB Post is our favorite restaurant in the South Bay. We went there this time for a birthday dinner. Great cocktails, excellent food and outstanding service. We even got to meet Chef LeFevre this time! Everything we've had on the menu has been delicious. We highly recommend the beef ribeye with black truffle butter, brussels sprouts, and especially the bacon cheddar buttermilk biscuits with maple butter.
So I met a friend here on Saturday afternoon and thought to make reservations, thank goodness, the day before as this place was hopping the whole time we were there. Food was really good and unique although portion sizes a little on the small size. Service was excellent and our waitperson, Tatiyana, is second to none. She showed up at just the right times, kept our drinks filled and had a smile that I'm sure has melted many men's hearts. I know it did mine! Great for people watching and a great location just steps to the beach.
Pleased with the menu. Was at MBP for last summer’s DineLA and some menu items then made their way back to this latest DineLA. MBP improved on last DineLA’s execution of certain courses. First off, the Thai shrimp is a good addition. Couscous could have used more acidity but good nonetheless. The roasted vegetables are delicious. We would have wanted more of the coconut sauce, however. The lamb belly is so good and rich. The addition of rice and veggies is also good – helps with the richness of the dish. Scallops were good, the garnish was
missing /better last year. The crispy skin trout was delicious (last season’s was breaded – good too) – it’s light and perfectly cooked. Skirt steak is good as always. Liked the soft serve ice cream with peach.
DineLA menu was absolutely great. Four courses for $39 plus tax and tip. And each course is very large. I didn't expect how large each course would be and would honestly suggest that for each pair of diners, order 1 DineLA prix fixe, 2 biscuits a la carte, and 1 dessert a la carte. Possibly another entree could be ordered depending on how hungry the diners are. So value is definitely there for DineLA; it is more expensive outside of those few weeks each year.
Onto the actual experience, everything was great. Food is delicious, especially the biscuits, which are absolutely necessary for every visit. One biscuit per person because you won't want to share. Service was great and the setting is great. I will definitely return.
