Overall experience was favorable. Food was fantastic, as was the service and ambience. Room was loud so not a great choice for intimate dining or a business dinner where conversation is important. Only real complaint was that tables & seating was cramped and verging on uncomfortable. Steer clear of the banquette and you’ll be fine! Do not miss the biscuits!

Food was really tasty. Should be noted that everything on the menu is "family style" or "shared plates". Somewhat pricey I thought since you need to order at least a few plates to make enough for a meal. Some of my favorite yummy plates and their prices: brussells sprouts were $14, Hamachi was $17, Cous Cous was $9, broccoflower was $14, trout was $15, scallops were $19, shrimp tortellini was $18, skirt steak was $21 and french fries were $8. I was with a group and there are just some of what we ordered. Keep in mind none of these are entrees, so what you get is just the item that you ordered. The woman who answered the phone when I changed my reservation was helpful and friendly. I also want to add that with my party of seven, when the bill arrived, the restaurant did NOT automatically add a tip to our bill which I think is great!! A lot of people add on a second tip because they didn't see that the restaurant already added one tip. So bravo to MB Post for not doing this!!

We asked our server to bring us what she thought we would like. Party of four, not drinking.

Super yum:
Fantastic cheese, fruit and nut plate with local honey - Mycella Blue was especially good. Pickled items were okay.
Roasted Brussels sprouts
Beef ribeye!
Meatball and polenta (especially the polenta)
Bacon cheddar biscuits (of course)

Good enough:
Broccoflower
Scallops
The Elvis dessert

No thanks:
Steamed mussels

It’s loud and expensive, but not unreasonably expensive. The chairs are not comfortable. My lower back is aching. People like a full back when they are sitting to enjoy a meal.

It really was a delicious meal.

Our server was Rachel and she was helpful and well informed.

Had a reservation for 11am, got there 15 mins early and were able to be seated right away. We were then immediately greeted by our waiter who explained the concept of the menu—updated daily and anything written by hand was a special chef creation/recommendation for the day. We ordered two handwritten items: eggs with mushrooms and chard on rustic bread and a blueberry griddle cake. Delicious! Also, the cheddar bacon buiscuits did not disappoint. My boyfriend said the Bloody Mary was the best he’d had. We throughly enjoyed every aspect of our experience at Manhattan Post. We’ll be there again.

Great food! The menu is quite diverse so there's something for everyone. The quality of each dish was amazing. We had one vegetarian at the table and at least two friends who seem to only eat meat and they were all happy with menu options and the quality. Chef sent us over a complimentary gnocchi in return for honest feedback, it was spot on. I hope they leave the gnocchi on the menu, will definitely order it on our next visit.

Yes, the dinning room is on the noisy side. While it's certainly a challenge to clearly hear everyone at the table it wasn't a struggle to hear the nearest 2-3 people seated near me.

We had a birthday in our group and the staff sent out a complimentary buttermilk soft serve which was awesome.

DEFINITELY coming back to do it all over again!

This review will include both reservations for April 2nd as well as the 3rd because we HAD to go back again. The place is a charmer. Having lived most of my life in NYC I’m used to the unique bistro like restaurants of Manhattan in Soho, Tribeca and Williamsburg, Brooklyn. MB Post fits that like a glove. High ceilings, great separate bar and wild walls make for a unique experience. The waitstaff is also amazing. Every ingredient is understood and explained by whoever you have. I ordered two awesome wines over the two evenings that I know very well since being former Wine Educators in NYC for 30 years allowed me to appreciate great old world wines. I ordered a Chateau de la Baumard Savennieres 2015 , great wine and an equally great year for the first evening and then semi broke the bank with a Domaine Laflaive Macon-Verze 2015 for the second dinner. Why did we want to come back? The first evening was unbelievable. Every single dish was an abstraction of colors, flavors and textures but we had a difficult time choosing between so many unique dishes. Even our waitress told us we must come back. Evening #1 we had a special which was a Sweet Spring Pea Salad. The name gives absolutely no credence as to the complexity of this dish. Next we had possibly the best French Fries outside of Balthazar in NYC. Next came the Japanese Hamachi Sashimi as good as a similar one at our Honolulu Nobu. Then came the Pork and Ricotta Meatballs and finally the Dark Rye Papardelle. The nest evening we had Blistering Green Beans, Broccoflower, Diver Scallops, Blue Crab Gnocchi and the grilled skirt steak. *and we still had more that we could have picked but that’s for next year. A TRUE DESTINATION RESTAURANT.

When looking at the menu online, it was not clear that the items were small plates. The waitress did a nice job explaining the menu and concept, but we were surprised that instead of each ordering a dish and sharing a side, we were now in for four to five small plates to make up our dinner. Ended up being quite a bit more expensive than we had planned. However........ The food was absolutely delicious, and our waitress was delightful. Especially loved the brussels sprouts and blue crab gnocchi. We enjoyed a lovely evening overall.

It was overpriced. We called the day before to verify which menu we would be served at our 2:30 reservation and were told lunch; however, they decided to extend breakfast for 30 minutes...giving us the lunch menu and then taking it from us when we were ready to order.

Maybe we just ordered the wrong things. We only enjoyed the fresh orange juice. The beef hash tasted burnt and was very dry. Did not enjoy the bacon cheddar biscuits. Ours were a bit dry and tasteless.

I also had a problem with the fact that all our food was brought to us at the same time. There isn’t a lot of table space to begin with. I was dining with a three year old and the dishes we ordered came in cast iron pans all the items ended up on my side of the table, leaving me very little space to eat.

I will not return.

Open Table's review options for Noise Level are, "quiet, moderate, and energetic." Open Table should add one more level: "TOO LOUD to even hear your guest across the table". I understand restaurant's want to have a "buzz" - a "vibe" - but come on, MB Post, when you literally have to YELL across the table to be heard - during a MONDAY night dinner, that's simply absurd. The food, service, and everything else was of course fantastic, but the BLARING MUSIC, which then causes EVERYONE ELSE TO HAVE TO YELL ALSO, completely ruined our meal and evening, making conversation impossible. So while I would recommend MP Post for take out, or for dine-in drunken screaming bachelorette party dinners, I would NOT recommend it for ANY other occasion unless you figure out how to have your staff become AWARE OF and monitor the excessive N O I S E L E V E L . . . (Your music system has a VOLUME control setting, right ????? ; )

Here's the thing - the food is really good - atmosphere is great - service super - BUT the reason why I actually drove from Venice (where we are the home of fantastic food) were your french fries - they had been amazing.
The back story is that the last time I went - my server told me they changed - I figured - great meal but I won't be coming out of my way to come back. Then I heard the fries might have been changed back. I needed to see for myself where we stood on "Fry Gate" ... Unfortunately I will not go out of my way any longer for MB Post.

This past week, my boyfriend and I were visiting California from Brooklyn, NY. We are both in the industry and we love to eat! Our dining experience was so wonderful at your restaurant; our favorite in the week we were in the area.
Pork meatballs. HUGE (yes the balls were huge) however, so moist on the inside and a great almost crisp on the outside. It was wizardry. The polenta with the meatballs felt like I was eating silk. We ordered five small plates and it was SOO MUCH FOOD. The value of this restaurant is delightful. I felt like I was committing a crime with how much food we ate with how much we paid.
Our server was SO SWEET and professional. I loved the wine she recommended. Pinot Gris by the glass. She wore a flower in her hair. (Sorry I forgot your name ) Also, the whole restaurant was so well run. Support staff. Managers. Host stand. Awesome job.

Waited months to be able to get a reservation at a decent time but it proved worth the wait.
Food is outstanding -- clever without being pretentious. A variety of flavors and preparations that you'll not find elsewhere. Service can get a bit overwhelmed by the always-full house and noise level, but was attentive.
