We ordered the bacon cheddar biscuits, spiced lamb, pork belly, and mushroom cavatelli, and the Elvis for dessert. Everything was SO yummy. Definitely going back.
This is a sad review knowing that I had my last dinner for awhile at MB Post on the Saturday before Thanksgiving because of LA County shutting down all forms of restaurant dining. My two daughters and I enjoyed a great feast served by Steven. The menu hadn’t changed since I last ate here a few weeks ago so we enjoyed all my outstanding tasting and expert kitchen executed favorites to include Bacon Cheddar Biscuits, Coppa Pork Shoulder and Salami bites, Heirloom Tomato Salad, Seared Diver Scallops, Chanterelle Cavatelli pasta, Steamed Thai-style Mussels, Spicy Pork Green Spaghetti, Nashville Fried Crunchy Chicken, washed down with a nice Arctic Haze IPA. Dessert is very well prepared here too....Passionfruit Parfait, Chocolate Tart, and the “Elvis”. And all within 90 minutes. Again it is very heartbreaking for MB Post and it’s hard-working, dedicated employees to have to close their doors during the holidays and I pray for a quick return because this joint is the place to eat in MB!!
Only outdoor seating at this time because of Covid. We wished there was another space heater because it was chilly. The skirt steak was great. Good portions. Wish they had a little more options for kids however. Overall, We had some good steaks and a great bottle of wine. Glad to see people going out to restaurants to keep business open.
Ashley our server was the best! Such good food! Can’t wait to go back
The restaurant was running a little behind schedule. Not a problem for us we understand the circumstances. When we sat down we were greeted with a chilled glass of champagne with the manager providing us with an apology for the delay in our seating. This was a very nice touch and another reason why we enjoy going to this restaurant and many of the other Simms establishments. Always top notch.
Local Joy!, It's one of the best places in Manhattan Beach! The COVID set up was perfect, great dividers between tables and the staff were all masked up - felt very safe. Our particular wait staff was outstanding. FOOD: The biscuits, always reliably to die for ... been there forever and there's a reason, indulge, it's worth it!!! Chopped Salad - I'm not sure how you make a salad "that good", but it really was. This salad isn't just salad, it's just perfect- I'm going to score it MAGIC salad!!! Our crudo was outstanding with real flavors and fresh fresh tasting fish! The mains: Pork Belly dinner was soooo good. Not fatty like a lot of pork belly .... just right, tender and tasty with some "sweet" drizzle to make it just right. To be fair, I do want to check in about the fried "Nashville Hot Chicken". Admittedly, I love fried chicken, grew up in the Southeast, and been to Nashville many times for fried chicken. First, the portion is HUGE, (maybe too huge), we took most of it home. The spice just about right. My thought, I hope Chef David "might" consider revamping to a much lighter fried coating ... it's HUGE and much of the meal is battered coating and it's VERY thick ... my opinion, you can pull off a delicious fried chicken, maybe just buttermilk and a light dredge in flour and your spices, maybe marinate in your spice ... but lighten up the batter about 90%. Don't get me wrong, it's great, but it's a LOT of batter. I had it today for leftovers, and taking off the batter of 2 pieces filled an entire dinner plate. Summary - it's one of the best in MB, and sooo delicious and fun - OMG, great to get our these days too! (and feel very safe). 5-Stars!
Food was great as usual! They did a great job managing the wind with outdoor dining!
We had a couple of issues on arrival when our table was not ready for half an hour, however the manager was lovely and resolved the problem. Once we were sat the Server was wonderful, everyone wore masks and the pretty florals all around the tables made the whole "parking lot" atmosphere look great.
Then the food. Nothing short of Exceptional. My husband and I loved every bite of our meals, as did our daughter. I had the eggs benedict on their signature bacon cheddar biscuits. I think I ate it all in 2 minutes it was just so good. My daughter had the cinnamon roll and fruit plate that was perfect and my husband loved his breakfast burrito. Drinks were great too. Overall it is one of the best brunch spots we have been to during Covid (since outdoor dining opened we have made a point to go somewhere every Sunday). It was so good in fact we are booking again next sunday. Really fantastic
It took a couple of minutes for our server to greet us, but she was worth the wait. Ashley was great. She offered great insight into our choices - lamb and skirt steak. The biscuits were yummy...
Fabulous meal. Will definitely go back!
Daughter and I plus dog seriously enjoyed an outstanding Friday night dinner on the MB Post sidewalk patio. Alanna was our wonderful server. For appetizers she brought us the famous Bacon Cheddar Biscuits, so fresh Heirloom Tomato Salad, Steamed Mussels in a Thai Spicy Green Curry Coconut with a nice kick to it and the Hamachi Sashimi Ceviche with even more kick. We then feasted on the Crispy Crunch Nashville Style Half Fried Yardbird, Chanterelle Mushroom Cavatelli Pasta and Seared Diver Scallops. Somehow squeezed in the Cappuccino Soft Serve and Chocolate Tarte for dessert given the 90 minute window but mission accomplished!! All dishes tasted just superb and well prepared/executed with generous portions.....my sincere hats off to the unseen back of the house. MB Post really has excelled and delivered despite all the challenges during this pandemic!!
Great first night out for my wife and I since March...
4 kids and Covid make it tough to date!!!
We had a great meal, with even better service
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
This restaurant was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. I got the naan (best bread I’ve had in years), steak, and the Elvia dessert (chocolate pudding, peanut butter mousse, and caramelized bananas). The waitress Heather was amazing, and pointed me in the perfect directions with my dietary restrictions. Usually, when I tell a server I don’t eat pork if that’s what they recommend, they seem to feel bad for me haha but Heather offered all of the best options for whatever type of food I was looking for. Highly recommend for an adult family dinner, date, or even a self-date (which is what I did). A bit pricey in general but definitely worth the price.
Great food and excellent service. Always a fun spot!!
Cute seating given the situation with covid 19. May be different for some but the portions were pleasantly larger than we thought for a share/small plates restaurant so we overfed ourselves (3) with 4 dishes. Also love a good strong cocktail but the balance and taste seemed off.
The food was delicious! Would highly recommend the Salmon and of course their famous biscuits. They have made the outside dining area very cozy with plants and heat lamps. Will definitely be returning. Be sure to plan ahead as reservations are difficult to get.
Seat wasnt comfy
Food, ambiance and staff is always AMAZING! This is my favorite restaurant! A must try!
Awesome outdoor dining with partitions between tables. Staff is well prepared with appropriate precautions. Food was fantastic! We always get the Thai mussels and the Hamachi appetizer.
Outstanding as usual.
It was great.
Fabulous food every time of course but the service was warm, welcoming and frequent checking on us. All in all 10/10!
Simply the BEST. Thank you for anothet wonderful meal.
Came here to celebrate our wedding anniversary and was greeted with complimentary sparkling wine. The staff and food were incredible. They even comped us a dessert for our special occasion. They also 100% comply with CDC guidelines as far as social distancing goes for Covid. An amazing experience! Cheese biscuits are a must!
As with all other restaurants they have to adapt and eating is "al fresco". It is a nice change since that's not as easy of an option pre-pandemic. Food was excellent and I actually forgot how good the biscuits were so this was a nice refresher. The menu is a bit smaller because of everything but I had the steak with veggies, dad had the halibut, and girlfriend has lamb. All plates were cleaned! Service was attentive and very friendly! highly recommend!
Great food at reasonable prices, especially for the quality of the food. My favorite restaurant in Manhattan Beach.
Good was great. Every time we sat down the staff moved an umbrella so we were in the sun. We moved seats 3 times. Brought our breakfast 10 mins apart instead of together. Service so so. Hostess awesome! Food great as always. No mention of birthday.
Had a RSVP for our anniversary and we got there before our scheduled time. Several other parties arrived well after us and were seated first. They pointed to a table and told us they were busing it and would seat us soon. We waited 20 minutes and when they finally tried to seat us, it was at the worst table that had been open since we arrived. We told them we didn’t want that table and they moved us after having to wait again.
The MB Post is a family favorite. It is a great dining experience and also down to earth. The bacon cheddar biscuits are a must.
Good patio seating. Great service and amazing food. Social distancing was strictly enforced. Menu had a good deal of variety.
Meeting a friend
The host was not friendly and repeated twice about our time limitation. We called and said we’d be 10 minutes late and she said if we still wanted to proceed because there’s a time limitation. When we arrived 10 mins late, she repeated about the time limitation.
We were seated at a table where we couldn’t move the chairs much (light pole right behind the chair on the sidewalk) so we asked to move. She moved us to a table that was on an incline, which was very uncomfortable. They should not have a table there...
Service staff tried their best. However, my food was served without utensils and plates. I had to ask for them.
Excellent service. The halibut m, chicken, and biscuits were scrumptious!!
Enjoyed a super Sunday brunch dining on Eggs Benedict, Chimichanga, and crispy Red Bliss Taters. Can’t beat the outdoor dining scene by the beach and these dishes tasted splendid. The local Citrus Fruit Plate with Buttermilk Softserve was the dessert highlight of freshness!! Outstanding service from our very professional Angela makes MB Post the place to hang out in MB!!
We’re so lucky to have this great restaurant in our neighborhood.
We had the nest time! It was my first time here! Loved everything we had! The Server was great! I forgot her name but she was very helpful!
Wished I took pictures of the food.
It’s the best meal with amazing staff1- we had our water filled, wine glasses always topped off and meals served with a smile. It doesn’t get better than this- Kudos to MB post and it’s staff
Great for COVID
Fantastic service and food!
This is THE spot for delicious food with fresh ingredients and unique flavors. Drinks are amazing too, must try the Vic Vega.
