   Service was good. Food was ok. Ordered fries as an appetizer ($12) and they were stale. Tasted like they were left over from lunch. My sons fries with his meal tasted fine. We mentioned it to staff. Manager not involved. Save your money and drive to Jackson. I understand it’s a ski resort and in the off season people leave. But still, $12 for fries~just take it off the check. :(

   We had a great time at the Mangy Moose. Love the atmosphere and service was excellent. The food is very good. Our group of 7 had a mix of entrees ranging from burgers to steaks. The hanger steak was delicious. Burgers were done perfectly. My favorite dish was the flatbread appetizer with fig and bleu cheese. Overall it was almost 5 stars. Would definitely recommend.

   The 3 of us had the Mangy Moose burger. It’s supposed to be Waygu but it came out lukewarm and little flavor. The $5 McDonalds cheeseburger I had the night before was hot, and was seasoned well and a better burger. Staff was very nice.

   I was not expecting the food to be as good as it was! YUM! We had the soup of the day, the Brussels sprouts, the Caesar (SO good!) and the short rib…. ALL delicious! Our server was great - wish I knew her name…. The ONLY bummer we’re the three hostesses who were right by our table - sitting in front of the fireplace (blocking our view from the table) and having a loud personal conversation… laughing etc…. SUPER unprofessional - other than that, a really yummy and special meal!!

   Roasted chicken was over cooked and very dry. I suspect it was yesterday’s chicken that had been reheated. Veggie hash had 1/2 potatoes and carrots that were obviously warmed up and the other 1/2 that were almost raw. Very disappointing and definitely not worth the high price point l.

    Our server was fantastic but was completely overwhelmed. She had the whole upstairs with minimal help. The food took over 2 hours to arrive. Burgers over cooked and over priced. We will not go back.

The day you were here was an anomaly for us, as the road to the mountain had closed which inundated us with an unpredictable amount of guests, and we had a few kitchen staff and servers who couldn't make it to work because of the road closure, which is why your food took a long time and your server had that very large section. Your experience is not common here, and I hope you will give us another try.

    The atmosphere was great and food was okay. Unfortunately, our waitress was not having her best night as we did not see her for more than 25 minutes with empty glasses. When we realized we had not seen her, we noticed that other tables were also looking around for her. I’d give it another try on another day though.

    Review is for the steakhouse part, not the saloon across the hall. Normally this isn't my favorite kind of place, but we were pleasantly surprised and all really enjoyed our meals and the kind of quirky/rustic/more-is-more decor of the place. A standout of the evening was being served by Sean - he was fun, funny and very attentive. Elk stroganoff was outstanding.

    Mangy Moose Restaurant and SaloonResponded on February 22, 2023When there are large winter storms at Jackson Hole, the road from Idaho over Teton Pass tends to close for avalanche mitigation. This happened the night you dined with us. This makes it hard on our kitchen as many of our employees live on the other side of the pass, as it's more affordable. We were out 8 kitchen staff members due to this. I hope you can dine with us on a night when we are not so understaffed due to winter storms, as I'm certain your experience would be a positive one.

    We make reservations the day before. Once we showed up, we were seated within a couple minutes, and the food was outstanding along with our waiter. They had a wide selection of food, which also included entrées for kids. The ambience is also great at this restaurant we would highly recommend.

    The Mangy Moose lacked in flavor and ingredients. Our hot chocolate and Irish coffees were both missing the cream topping. The cheese burgers were dry and plain. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone.

    We were seated right away. Our server, Shay was very sweet. The French onion soup was very good, not too salty but I would have liked a little more melted cheese. My husband had the meatloaf and he loved it. Kids are from the kids menu and we’re not disappointed. The ice cream sandwich dessert was great.

    Our food was top notch but we were seated (two women who wanted to talk to each other) between five tables of very loud men. It was very disturbing. I am sure the men didn't know how disturbing they were but it would have been great if they had realized their disturbing behavior and lower their voices.

    A lively fun bar, unfortunately the restaurant has gone downhill over the years. Been coming here for 30 years. Will still always visit the ionic bar for drinks, snacks, and music but will be staying away from eating in the restaurant for it's lackluster food.

    The Mangy Moose is the iconic bar and restaurant in Teton Village. If you are in the Village you HAVE to go to the Moose! We had a table next to the window and fire place and watched the snow come down. The service was absolutely great with Petco as our server; his recommendations were spot on. It is fun to try some of the wild game dishes like elk stroganoff (delicious), elk/bison meatloaf and bison carpaccio (fantastic). Very good wine selection, signature cocktails and beer. Topped off or dinner with chocolate leave cake.

    This was our first time coming to Jackson Hole, so of course the first place we wanted to eat was at the Mangy Moose. The environment was everything we hoped, the food was excellent and the service was attentive. We will be back!
