Delicious and fun!
Delicious really enjoyed the atmosphere
Ask for Sean, an amazing professional waiter, and yes, this does make a difference. Really strong menu, one Chef de cuisine, who preps in the morning and then returns for service. Seafood is amazingly fresh, Beef is fantastic and perfectly cooked, Wellington was spot on. Strong wine list. Slightly pricey, welcome to Duvall street on Key West, but absolutely worth it.
Short rib tasted good, but was very small for the price
Food was dry and lacked flavor. The service was terrible. It seems that since gratuity was already included - the server had no interest in taking care of us.
Good Food but went to see Dave Bootle. Great entertainer!
Birthday. The Grouper was excellent!
The Open Table menu is not up to date. I specifically chose this restaurant because of the salads and vegetarian options. When I inquired at the restaurant since the menu was so different the server had no idea. I had to really pres her to ask the chef if he could make something vegetarian.
The ordered menu items were lacking in quality and flavor compared to the price point.
After waiting 25 minutes to have someone take our drink order a passing waitress was informed that she was our waitress obviously embarrassed she hustled and our hopes where restored...until the food came. Appetizers of way overcooked muscled in what appeared to be chicken stock and calamari with an unidentifiable crust and a sauce of an opened can of tomato paste. Overcooking was the theme of the night. Jerk chicken was dry (overcooked) rice was dry (overcooked) but at least the broccoli was cold. J’s salad was ok but the shrimp add on was .... yes overcooked.
Food and service was meh but ambiance was good.
Very good food and excellent service on a very comfortable outdoor patio
The menu was very limited. Ordered braised short ribs and the piece had so much fat on it but tasted good. The hostess was exceptional but the waitress very slow.
Food was not the best and way over priced coming from a local
The menu on open table does not match the menu they really have. I’m vegetarian and always check the menu before I go somewhere, so I was disappointed when we arrived and they had no veggie options. The waitress was very nice and they ended up being able to make something. Food was ok. Ambiance decent.
Our waitress Chandrel was amazing
Food was awesome
Ambience was perfect Key West style
When I walk in to Mangoes, I always expect a great meal. Mangoes never ceases to amaze me on the quality of the experience.
This place was “just ok.”
Sadly our experience was less than satisfactory. We started our order requesting the raspberry margaritas and water for the table. The margaritas were very sweet (no tart taste at all) and we were not served water until after our food arrived. We had the nachos (plenty to share for 3 ladies) and the smoked dip— both were great. We split 4 appetizers for dinner and the braised pork, which was fantastic. Our waiter was seated multiple tables after our arrival, however, we were his first table and paid very little attention. Unfortunately we had to sit inside due to weather, but the patio area was a more appealing environment. Overall experience was disappointing and will not be back. Also, the restrooms were out of toilet paper which is a little tricky for the ladies.
We try to get to Mangoes at least once a year when we’re on vacation in Key West. This was probably our best meal so far this visit, and one of our best meals ever at Mangoes. Go for the food, the service, and the beautiful setting. You’ll be glad you did!
Not good selection for dinner. Over priced for the calamari you get.
The crab cakes were small and did not have enough crab meat
We only had 2 small plates after waiting 30 minutes and went somewhere for the main.
Probably the most so-so meal we had in Key West. Portions were small and food was “meh.” Nothing unique or really special. Hostess and waitress were both unnecessarily unpleasant. Good location, but better tasting and better value meals available nearby.
I really enjoyed this place. The atmosphere is bright. The staff is friendly and attentive and the food was great. Went here for lunch. Would definitely visit again.
I had a great lunch with my friends and their kids. Great service. Great food. There are more than a few good appetizers to investigate.
Great atmosphere at night as well. Highly recommend!
Food was great. Quiet then we came back later for live mysic and
Beautiful outdoor seating area and excellent spot for people watching on Duval Street. The service was a bit slow and didn't pace our appetizers or food out, or pay much attention to our needs, but the food was pretty tasty and with a reservation, we didn't have to wait in line for over an hour and a half like other places.
We went to Mangoes after a Key West local referred us there. The waitress was so rude the entire night for no apparent reason to the point that our entire party was uncomfortable. We had indicated on our reservation that one of the members of our party was celebrating her 50th birthday and ordered dessert for her. The rude waitress after being asked three times finally brought it. Maybe she was having a bad day but she definitely took it out on us.
Server forgot to put in one order and did not really do anything about it---usually they offer a free desert or comp out the dinner served after everyone else finished their.
Food was awesome and our waitstaff was equally great! Will go back!
The restaurant was good. Food was cooked to our liking. The short rib was delicious. Not a place for a quiet meal if you dine outside like we did. Great live music and plenty of people watching to be had on Duval. The waitress was great. The only critique would be that the service was too fast to fully enjoy the dinning experience. Would go here again though for sure.
A limited menu so if you aren’t a seafood lover you may have an issue finding something you like. The nachos was a big hit and appeared to be common cause every table had some on it. The lobster Mac and cheese was yummy
I promise we are NOT picky eaters. Check all of my other reviews. The restaurant is very cute. The staff is very nice but the food was NOT good. My daughter had a $30 salad that had CANNED CHICKEN in it. We ordered chicken nachos- also canned chicken. Pork belly was so salty it was not good. The muscles and clams in the Paella ($40 meal) were over cooked and the rice was gummy and flavorless. The Cesar salad chicken was real but could hardly tell the salad was dressed at all. Frankly the Cesar salad was the best thing we had and at $20 it was a very meager portion. For $50/per person (no alcohol) this was a HUGE disappointment in Key West.
Snacks and Five
Nice location on Duval & the food was good. Disappointed that our server represented the Happy Hour differently from the billboard's message on the restaurant wall on Angela Street.
Fun ish outdoor dining with live music if you’re into that sort of thing. Food was very uninspired. Good for older crowds
Perfect outdoor dining experience with great music and good service. And their key lime pie is the best!
Great food! Great service and atmosphere! Would definitely come again!
Well I have to say we were disappointed. I will give them credit the lobster Mac n cheese, awesome. The Paella was yuck and the pork belly was over cooked/salty. For the cost of dinner and raves on open table, I don’t get it. Maybe the brunch is the way to go. My recommendation is to go to fish and chips Catty corner.
Amazing food.. outstanding service. Very clean and beautiful!
The best thing about Mangoes is the service. Our waitress was wonderful. I also enjoyed the live music. Had one appetizer, the crab cakes, which was very good. The drinks we had, a rum runner and a mojito, were undrinkable! The entree snapper filet was hard, I know fish and this one had been frozen and definitely not worth the $38 they charged!
Great for Happy Hour. Ask for Josue as your server. Great outdoor spaces.
