We trace our roots to Republic Chophouse, Green Bay area’s premier steakhouse and standard bearer of fine dining in northeast Wisconsin. Located just down the street from each other and under the same local ownership, Mangiare and Republic are sister restaurants that offer the best dining experiences north of Chicago.
We use only the freshest and most authentic ingredients for the offerings on our Mangiare menu. Featuring balsamic and oils sourced directly from Italy and breads from specialty bakeries, our chefs create intensely satisfying dishes that match the level of service which sets us apart.
Our attention to detail and commitment to excellence holds true regardless of whether your taste for the evening is classic Italian fare in a family-friendly atmosphere at Mangiare or steak in the unpretentious, yet fine dining environment of Republic.
We look forward to seeing you soon.
Regrettably, not what I expected. Will not be going back.
Excellent food, great atmosphere, great service. We had a wonderful evening at Mangiare. The food quality was excellent, with a wide variety of dishes I had never seen before in our area. The service was friendly and exceptional. To top off a great evening, they front window was open, giving the restaurant an amazing ambience for with a nice late summer breeze blowing in. We look forward to coming back and trying something new!
My husband had the lamb with pappardelle and it was outstanding. I had the porketta it was a bit over done but very favorful. We also had the cheese and sausage service, that was great. We will definitely be back
My second visit. Both experiences were great, both service and food. I had the tenderloin last night, it melted in my mouth and had the perfect blend of seasonings. Previously had the baked bronzini, again beautifully cooked, seasoned and presented. Lastly I highly recommend the beet and burrata salad, wonderful combination of citrus, herbs, beets and cheese. I think I'll be ordering the beet salad at my next visit too.
Wonderful experience! Excellent food and Stellar service! Can’t wait to go back!
Food and service were excellent. First time eating here and I would definitely return.
Employees are very helpful and the food and drinks are great. You can’t go wrong with dinner here!
Excellent dinner well served. Very young staff but they handled it professionally. Interesting decor with old bricks and beams but it does get a little loud as the red wine flows. I had the Fruiti de Mare and was very good. My wife had the Porchetta and was excellent. Potatoes were a little salty but still very good. ThTs lunch today!
The food and service was excellent. When we first got there, the music playing was loud for our satisfaction and was turned down when asked. Also, one of the drinks at the bar was $13 and the same drink at the table was $7. We asked our waitress why the difference, and she said she wasn’t sure but it could have been a double at the bar and a single at the table, but both drinks, to us, looked like the same pour. We will come back for the food!
Amazing food. Amazing service. Best Italian restaurant in the area hands down.
A great place with excellent food and service.
Everything here is exceptional. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. We had a table by the window to bad it wasn't open will need to come back when it's warmer. The bread with the balsamic vinegar and oil was the best. Had the build your own pasta and ended with dessert for a perfect evening. Will be back.
It was a beautiful location with good food and a great wine list. Service was wonderful.
Food - disappointing, Service - very good. This was our first time at the restaurant. We ordered the arancini as appetizer. The first taste was laced which something that was not food, like refrigerator/packaging/chemical/synthetic. The Alfredo sauce it sat in was very thick and heavy in texture. As soon as both of us tasted the sauce, we told the waitress to change our entree orders to something that did not have the Alfredo. The waitress was kind enough to substitute the calamari for the arancini when we explained to her. The calamari came out with a pale, unappetizing color on the fry. We knew immediately it was undercooked. The actual squid underneath the coating was tender, but undercooked batter is not good so we only had a few and left the rest again. Then she brought out bread service which i thought was unusual to bring it so late into the meal (after 2 appetizers - about 20 min after sitting). Bread service had a very nice presentation. The beet and buratta salad had a nice presentation, but the flavors were very unbalance. The beets were very very hard and strongly pickled with some kind of pepper creating high acid followed by heat in the mouth, so the only way to mitigate that was with the buratta, but it to had been peppered on top, not to mention that arugula is already a “peppery” type green. So, only the oranges and buratta could help deal with the overpowering beets. I would go to other italian restaurants like Carmella’s in the area if you want a balanced beet and cheese salad, but not here. We also ordered paperadelle with meatballs and red sauce. The meatballs were very nice. The pasta, although cooked correctly to al dente had very little flavor, which could have been mitigated by a good sauce, but that was not the case. The sauce had very little flavor, so we mostly only ate the meatballs. For dessert, we had Sara’s Gelato, which we knew was a good product and the berry tart. The tart was only ok. We will not return.
Wonderful experience. Food, service and ambiance all great. A nice addition to downtown Green Bay.
Wonderful evening, waitstaff was excellent
Loved the veal parm but the lamb was a little spicy for my taste.
Whether ordering off the menu or going for the feature of the week, you will not be disappointed. The food was incredible and service was spectacular. We couldn’t have chosen a better place to celebrate our anniversary.
Delicious food, lovely setting and exceptional service.
Enjoyed all our entrees. Calamari appetizer was rubbery.
Locals were definitely treated better than we were. We were the only customers that didn't get garnishes on our drinks and our service was slower. May have had something to do with my husband wearing a Jets hat, who had just beaten the Packers.
The dinner was fantastic. All four of us loved what we ordered. Justin the server was great! The water had an off flavor but we shared that with the server. Would definitely return!!
Bread service delish with roadted garlic. The burratta appetizer was fresh and crostini buttery. Alison our server was attentive. Main course of baked branzino delicious!
Pasta was very dry as there was not enough sauce for the dish, Only 4 pieces of small shrimp in the whole dish. I was also surprised there was no bread service in an Italian restaurant. Who ever heard of pasta without bread. I had the Frutti di Mare. The calamari was very rubbery and the mussels and clams were way overcooked.
Very tasty beet salad and my dinner was absolutely amazing. Great presentation. Definitely going to return😀
We had an awesome server and the food was delicious as usual! Wonderful experience
Amazing new Italian restaurant in Green Bay. Delicious menu and authentic Italian, great service and excellent vibe.
The aesthetics are great, and our server was very friendly. However, I was served cold pasta and my wife’s porchetta was not up to par. Not worth the money. There is better Italian food next door.
It was very nice, first time I will definitely try it again.
Great new restaurant. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable. He provided great recommendations and the food was excellent. Highly recommend the white bean and sausage soup, the chicken and gnocchi, and the branzini.
Food was awesome, service was spot on and friendly.
Great food and great service!
We will definitely come back!
Service and food was terrific. upscale Italian food at a fair price.
~ Our only complaint/recommendation in the ambience experience would be to swap out the glaring clear light bulbs over high top tables to something softer. We unscrewed the light bulb until our food arrived. Which again was terrific. So was out waiter.
The white bean and sausage soup is excellent. We also had the calamari and clams. I would recommend the clams, the sauce is fantastic! It’s nice you can mix your sauces when building your own pasta. The Frutti de Mare was amazing! The lights could be dimmed a little for a softer atmosphere.
Mangiare is a welcome addition to fine dining in the Green Bay area. We have long needed an Italian restaurant that offered a wide selection of classic and contemporary dishes that are well prepared, and this is it. Good choices and well done. A tad noisy, but the restaurant was full the night we were there.
This was our first visit. For a restaurant only open for 3 weeks, they already have it figured out. The service was friendly and professional. The food was all good with nice portions. This was one of the better meals we had in Green Bay.
We had an excellent meal. Great ambiance and the bartender and waitresses were wonderful. Food came out in a very timely manner even though they were busy. Definitely going back and glad I had a reservation on a Saturday night.
Limited menu choices, ordered build your own because of it. Service was great, ambiance was good, a little to dark especially the further back you got. Would like to see more food choices and less wine choices. Wine seems to be the emphasis.
Ambience is great - very classy! Food was delicious. My husband wasn't as excited about the lamb dish he ate as I was about the gnocchi and grilled chicken, but BOTH dishes were very good.
We tried a couple of the appetizers which were both tasty and a couple of desserts (had to pack up lots of left-over entree to leave room for dessert!). Spumoni Bombe was amazing and the cannoli cake was good, too.
Overall, a good dinner in a very nice place!
For being open only two weeks, we were impressed with the service, food, and decor and will certainly return. It's a happy place.
