About Mangia Mangia
Italian have a saying, "mangia mangia" , meaning " welcome, come to my table and eat, eat well". For over 20 years Soraya Ghaemi has been conceiving and producing her exquisite Italian dishes at Mangia mangia, and her sister Lida has run the front of the house with warmth and charm. The classic Italian elements are here, from pesto, tomato sauce, pastas, frutti de mare and fine cut meats, as well as a handful of house-crafted luscious desserts including Mangia mangia's

Mangia Mangia Ratings and Reviews
I love this neighborhood restaurant. We've been dining here for years, and it feels like family. I especially enjoy the lamb shanks, which I always order when they're on the specials menu. The featured wines are thoughtfully paired, and the zabaglione and chocolate souffle are to die for.
The waiter seemed upset. He was very unfriendly, seemed very irritated by a
our request for butter and more bread, brought birthday dessert while one of us was still eating her main course, and did not offer a dessert menu to her. There was only one other table occupied, so he was not busy.
The food was tasteless. We've always had great experiences here. Where were the regular staff and the owners?
Our food at Mangia Mangia was nicely served and flavorful. The portion sizes were also plentiful. We were certainly not hungry when we left. I had the New York Steak with mashed potatoes and a medley of vegetables. The steak was nicely done to a medium rare which is what I orederd. The mashed potatoes were excellent and plentiful. My dining mates had the Lamb special with a pasta side and a seafood with pasta dish. They were both excellent well seasoned and all the dishes were served hot and right off the stove. The pricing is fair considering the ingredients and meal size. My only complaint would be that the restaurant needs an updating of the dining room. I would defenitely recommend this place as a great neighborhood place with good value. Service was good although initially a bit curt. As the evening moved forward the waiterperson became warmer and more informative.
Good menu choices. Food beautifully prepared and presented. And, especially, served hot!
This is a small local owned and operated restaurant where the food is lovely prepared, when ordered. Nothing is sitting in the kitchen waiting to be served.
And the chocolate souffle is marvelous.
Finally, the people are warm, welcoming and friendly. You can make real connection.
Wonderful Italian / Mediterranean cuisine. I usually order from the daily specials list. They use fresh, local ingredients and produce yummy complex dishes. The wine list is excellent; wine from around the world is served. Do not miss the chocolate souffle for dessert!
We have been dining at Mangia Mangia for nearly 14 years. The food has always been wonderful. The owners and staff are incredibly attentive and thoughtful. We especially love their chocolate souffle, be sure to order it at the beginning of the meal so that it is ready by the time you are done with the main course. We highly recommend Mangia Mangia!
We have eaten at Mangia Mangia for years and this last dinner showed uneven quality. I order the fettuccine del mare and got spaghetti with seafood. The last time I ordered this dish, I had large sea scallops as part of the seafood; this time, I think I got one or two bay scallops. The tomato sauce tasted too tomatoey. My friend order penne norma and the sauce was also basically raw tomato sauce. Very disappointed in this meal, especially after inviting friends to share in what was supposed to be a great meal.
Food was absolutely fantastic, served by friendly and attentive staff at a reasonable price, including the great wine list. We went for a family birthday celebration and we talked until we were the last guests there. No pressure to leave, just to enjoy the evening.
We always feel so welcome here. The ambiance and chocolate souffle are tops, everyone pitches in to make sure we get excellent service, and we always enjoy the diverse menu choices and wine list. A go-to place when we want to have a tasty, relaxed dinner in a warm setting.
We have been to Mangia Mangia many times and have always loved the delicious food, family-owned/neighborhood feel, and cozy ambiance. We reserved a table for Valentine's Day, and we had no idea there would only be a very limited, extra expensive special menu. That was unexpected but fine with us (although it did mean that our son ended up having bread and salad, as there were no entrees that he was interested in).
The food was delicious as always, but our service was absolutely horrible. Our waiter was condescending and downright rude to us. When he came to take our order, he just stood there and expected us to start talking without even a prompt like "What can I get you?" or "Are you ready to order?" And when I asked if he was ready for us to order, he rolled his eyes and obnoxiously held up his pad and pen at us. There were several other interactions with him throughout the meal that were equally unpleasant.
I will certainly return to Mangia Mangia in the future, but I will request to be taken care of by a different server. It was a really unpleasant experience, especially on a special occasion and when we were paying about 50% more than normal for our dinner.
This restaurant, managed by twin sisters for 22 years, is the closest you will get to the "Big Night" movie of Italian cuisine. It's a local favorite-always solidly consistent. The menu is not large-the wine menu is limited but then again what you get is going to be well-made and thoughtful. Easily one of my favorites and not a big hit on the wallet. Plus point: Not a pizza joint thank God! There's enough of that around here. Handmade pasta, great sauces, Oso Bucco-type meals and lovely salads. Desserts here are fab. GO FOR IT
