Mandara's Ristorante & Pizzeria
Best dinner! Our server was great, the food was ridiculous, and dessert (Hungarian chocolate cake) was over the top!!!! Quickly has become my new favorite restaurant!
Service was superb Sarah was pleasant efficient and extremely courteous and attentive. Food was surprisingly good served hot and tasty. Ambiance is satisfactory noise level is excessive. Car headlights facing into the restaurant is nerve racking and dangerous. Prices are high for a pizza style sit down.
It was excellent! Food is outrageous. I have been there 3 times and every time has been great. I brought my friends this time.
Food is amazing! Can’t say enough about how good it is!!
Service was very slow didn’t order for 20 minutes after being seated appetizer was cold dinner was just ok not very flavorful waiter was unfriendly and not attentive
We had a power outage while we were dining and service and food were still terrific.
Food was good but noise level was way too high. Very difficult to carry on a conversation. Hope the situation improves because I would go back again but not in the near future.
Server needs better training. Drinks are small, not worth the price. My dinner was overcooked. Noise level much too high to carry on a normal conversation.
Incredible place!! Love it here.
Waiter was not well trained
Pizza was delicious! Friendly staff and personable hostess.
The food was outstanding and plentiful. It’s great place for a romantic dinner or to take children.
Great food. Terrific value. Big portions for the price.
Although I had made a reservation on OpenTable about 10 days ago... I was still seated with my guests right by the kitchen. The noise level was extremely loud . Only one waiter was in the dining room and a couple of bus staff. The waiter was extremely friendly and helpful. However, after ordering our meal the electricity went out in the restaurant. No members of the management came over to the tables to tell us what was going on during this outrage.
Several customers... after about 15 minutes decided to leave the restaurant. It was getting very warm ( summer evening) We waited..20 minutes later the electricity did come back on and our meal was served within a half an hour from that point. We have dined out many times with our guests. If there was ever an incident in a restaurant, large or small, the management always made sure to make it right. Management could have comped us a drink, or dessert. That would’ve made everyone feel a lot better. Food was not hot however we chose not to send it back ....due to the lengthy wait probably due to the power outage.
The waiter had just too many tables and it also took quite some time to get our check. We were excited to try this new restaurant. But they need to iron out some of these problems before we can Enthusiastically recommend this place.
Way too noisy. Dry hard too talk to the people next to you. Food was good so it is too bad because we won’t be back any time soon
Second time there. Was much better first time. All dinners lacked seasoning. Shrimp parmigiana was butterflied and overdone. Veal Milanese had very little flavor. Disappointed.
First time visiting here. We had the mussels, which were extremely tender, plentiful, but a tad spicy. Also had veal marsala which came with garlic mashed potatoes (very good) steamed vegetable medley (cooked perfectly). Veal Parmigiano with a side of spaghetti also very good.
The server was very courteous, but seemed a little slow. Had to remind him to serve our drinks and our bread. Otherwise, a good experience. Would go back.
Food was outstanding. Bar and lots of parking.
We went to Mandara's in West Caldwell, New Jersey, because we had heard it was a new restaurant, and we wanted to check it out. The food was DELICIOUS. Our waitress was very accommodating and lots of fun. The atmosphere was friendly and the restaurant had a really relaxed feeling. The restaurant is rich in history, started by an immigrant from Italy and continued by his family through three generations now. Mandara's serves authentic Italian food with old world recipes. It features a beautiful bar, a section for pizza, and tables for dinner. The owners and staff are very welcoming and do their best to make you feel at home. We had a wonderful time and will definitely visit again!
It was Marvelous!! From the decor, to the cuisine and service. Just fantastic and I can’t wait to go back. Perfect for any time. Lunch, dinner with the family (toddlers) or a date. Sophisticated elegance and amazing food. Can’t wait to go back
Noise level completely unacceptable. Wait staff completely screwed up our orders; brought food we didn’t order. Had to wait for correct dishes.
Food good, but not great. Might return for lunch, but not for dinner, especially on a weekend.
Great food service and owners treat you like a guest
Food is fantastic. I’ve gone back two weeks in a row because the food is delicious and I almost went back again because I was craving the salad I had the night before. It’s a relatively new restaurant so they have to work out some minor kinks with the service (ie we ordered vegetable sides to share as a table. When they brought them, there was no serving spoon. We requested one. 5-10 mins later it still hadn’t arrived and found out the waitress was still looking for one. So we ended up using one from an existing dish on the table. Not a big deal- just affects the experience.) Can’t wait to go back.
A great addition to our town. Great food, forget service and a full bar. Will definitely be back! Can't wait to try the pizza.
After only a few weeks open, this Mandara location has a few kinks to work out. Our server was not yet familiar with the menu and seemed overwhelmed by the handful of tables he was managing. Cocktails need work but wine list was substantial. Food was subpar in comparison to the Wyckoff location. There were so many grammatical errors on the menu, you would never guess this family owns several successful restaurants.
The only complaint we have is that there weren’t enough clams served with the Linguine with clam sauce. All the other entrees served were delicious. The fried calamari was extremely fresh and hot with a delicious tomato dipping sauce and the garlic knots were very good and served hot
I wanted to love this place as I heard that the food was very good. To be fair, they are only one week in. However, even with my Open Table reservation, they initially said that I had a 1 hour wait for my 7:00 reservation. When I reminded them of my Open Table status, they immediately found a booth for my party of 3.
First the place is loud. I mean REALLY LOUD. Our booth was adjacent to the bar. BIG PROBLEM. Everyone is speaking loudly, Sinatra music is being played, and babies are crying.....
Our server was very nice, but run ragged. They need more help.
As for the food, it is good . I had pasta Mandara and it was tasty. My husband had linguine with clam sauce and he enjoyed it.
I think that something must be done to cut down on the noise level. I would definitely return for the food, but only on a week night when they are less crowded. Perhaps in time they will get it together.
