The food was outstanding and our server was funny, friendly and professional. I will be coning back again soon!
Jade was great!
The construction outside of the restaurant was the biggest problem. Flood and service was great.
Great service. Wonderful waiter. Food tasted good...I had the mahi tacos. Problem was I got very ill when I got home.
If you enjoy Italian food in an upscale, yet relaxed environment, Mancuso's is the perfect place. The menu is extensive, guaranteed to please!
First time, very impressed. Construction makes getting there a challenge.
First time here. Restaurant week menu, but food very good. My wife's filet was done perfectly, rare plus. I had veal, which is easy to cook poorly, but it was perfect as well. Sauce for shrimp scampi just enough garlic, and shrimp tender. Salads good, different presentation for my wedge, but interesting. Service was attentive, almost to the point of hovering, but well timed. I saw some other reviews which were very negative, but wonder if not the result of re-starting service after a shutdown. Will absolutely return.
Excellent food, good portions and excellent service.
We went for restaurant week. They did not show a need for me to return again, which is the value for putting your Best out for this event.
The salads were so small - like a cup of greens! The New York Strip was so chewy, so not the best cut of beef.
The tiramisu was four bites as they admitted to giving a small portion!
I was very excited to try this new restaurant in downtown PHX. Truly disappointed in my choice.
This replaced one of my previous favorite restaurants-Kincaid's. Mancuso's is a worthy successor. The food is delicious, is delivered in large portions, and is very authentic Italian. The decor and music (always Sinatra) is appropriately very old New York City oriented. They have inside and outside seating (outside is comfortable after sundown). The wait staff is very polite, attentive, friendly and efficient. It is expensive, so not a regular stop, but a good one for special occasions.
I’ve been to this restaurant twice and I have tried three entrees they were all mediocre.
Our server totally neglected us. It ruined our dining experience. She didn't appear for 10-15 minutes after we were seated. She took our order, brought our drinks and again disappeared. We finished our drinks but never got the chance to order refills. Our meals were delivered by other staff. We were given the wrong cut of meat (strip steaks instead of the filet mignon ordered). She she had disappeared, we went ahead and ate the meals received. The food was good but our server never came back to see if we were happy with our meal so that we could tell her we had not received the meal ordered. When she finally showed up to see if we wanted our bill, I requested our desserts to packed to go. She came back with slivers of tiramisu in to-go containers. Our bill was wrong as she charged us full-price for the wrong meals instead of the Restaurant Week menu prices. The manager was very gracious when I brought the service issues and erroneous bill to his attention. We've had good experiences at Mancuso's before so we will return and make sure we don't get this server.
Lasagna was fantastic. My wife ordered the lobster, which was 65.00, i realize that is market price, and that was not my issue. The waitress, who was fantastic (Jade), brought our food. When my wife tried to eat the lobster, well, she could not pull any off with her fork, so she tried her butter knife, would not cut it, so she picked it up and ripped a piece off with her teeth. She chewed it for quite a while and spit it into the napkin. I tried a piece, I felt like I had just pulled old silicone from around my bathtub, and was trying to chew it. It was simply horrible, I too spit mine into the napkin. I offered my wife some of my lasagna, she said that's ok, and ate the rice and vegetables from her lobster plate. After about 20 minutes, Jade our waitress came by and asked how everyt6hing was, my wife was insistent that I not say anything because she does not like to complain, and Jade was so nice. I explained to Jade the problem, she said she would say something to the kitchen. Well, a good length of time passed and I was finished with my food, Jade passes by, and I get her attention, she said, well I mentioned it to the manager and she said to offer you a free desert. I explained to Jade, we really do not eat desert, but it has now beyond the point that a desert will fix it. I told her were unhappy with that meal, and I said and if for one minute anyone doubts that the lobster was bad, here, I saved it for them to try eating themselves, and I handed her the plate of rubbery lobster meat, Obviously, with 2 bites taken out,I wish I had thought to giver her those. We sat there for about 10 minutes then my wife left the restaurant for some fresh air, while I waited for the check. Another 15 minutes goes by, my table is cleared and there I sat. Finally jade comes back and explains that the manager is willing to take 50% off the lobster, since we did eat some of it. Then somehow I get a check that is 107.00 for my 22.00 lasagna and 2 mixed drinks and 1/2 price lobster.
The food and atmosphere were fantastic. Our only real issue was the waitstaff was very very attentive, but almost too attentive. They were constantly coming by to check on us and our drink level and meal, but it became a bit too much at times. I know it wasn’t the intent but it almost felt like we were being rushed. They were very kind and everything was high quality. We know they’re new and so they probably just need to work out a few kinks, but we will absolutely return. Highly recommend this place to anyone.
Another enjoyable dining experience during Arizona Restaurant Week.
Comfortable and welcoming environment. Delicious food and excellent service. Great for special occasions or just a great meal.
Great Service Great Food... Love it here
Perfect date night!
Upscale Downtown Italian restaurant that is consistently really good. Their service and attention is great and the ambiance is really nice whether you're there for a nice meal with friends, a date or a special occasion. Been here several times since moving downtown 5 months ago and have already stopped going to the other Italian places around here. Found out this is a family owned independent restaurant that somehow made it through the pandemic which I am very glad.
This place is always an experience. If you want to dine at a place with amazing food and great staff, this is it.
Anniversary and our waitress and staff so kind and friendly!! Thank you for making our day so special
Everyone but our server Kevin was good.
Food and service was wonderful. Hard to locate due to construction but overall excellent.
Great Italian food..nice menu..atomsphere sub par due to construction..waitstaff was awesome
We sat on the patio for dinner - it was a beautiful night. The food was AMAZING! We will be back!
Grumpy older woman at the front desk should have tipped us off to what the experience would be like...disappointing at best...
Fabulous food, ambience and service! Server/Bartender Rafael is a consummate professional. The owner runs a wonderful business and offers the best Italian food around! I highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a lovely atmosphere and authentic Italian food! You will not be disappointed.
It’s not that it was a bad experience. It just seems like everyone there wasn’t really wanting to be there. The food was just OK. I will cut them a little slack to the to the Covid restrictions.
Food and service excellent. Hard to find the place with the construction but it was worth the hunt.
We made reservations for outdoor seating but when we arrived we noticed the outdoor seating was directly next to a construction zone. We were quickly seated inside which was great. Our waiter was new but he did a good job of getting us our drinks and appetizers very quickly. Many people stop by to make sure our water glasses were full and any empty dishes were removed. My wife had the Bolognese and I had the cannelloni. Both were very good. The lemon cello cake was excellent. We will definitely be back
The service was impeccable. The bread according to my spouse was good (I have celiacs so I didn’t try it). The food was terrible. I ordered the risotto with lobster and it was either cooked in heavy cream or finished with heavy cream-but somehow, not in a good way. My spouse’s lamb chops were thoroughly cooked. The chocolate flourless cake tasted like Hershey’s chocolate.
I felt like I was eating an airport meal but paying premium city dining prices.
Food was amazing and our server Andrew was outstanding! Such attention to detail and perfect recommendations, wine and all :) authentic, special, will be back!
Trip of the family
Everything was very well organized. Table was ready by the time of our reservation did not have to wait. Staff was very attentive and the ribeye was cooked perfectly. Will definitely return!
Amazing food. Great staff. Hard to find because of the construction but don’t give up it’s so worth it.
Lovely Resturant. Food was eh. Good solid a
Italian but nothing to shout about. Higher end menu. Server struggled as he didn’t know what the dressings were for the house and if the ceaser had anchovies in it. Soup of the day wasn’t known either. All in all a solid B in regard to rating.
Such a cute place for date night and amazing staff
The food and wine was wonderful! The staff was very attentive. We will definitely come back and try more on the menu. We will travel from the West Valley to visit Mancuso's again. They provide great food at a good value.
