Warm and friendly staff, authentic Moroccan food!
Called ahead to advise of garlic allergy and was told not a problem. When we arrived, told that everything has garlic! Staff did their best to accommodate.
Arrived at the restaurant, waited to be seated politely, only to find that the table offered to us was the size of a matchbox in the corner shopfront. We asked for alternate seating and was offered a cosy elbow rubbing experience with another dining couple. Off course we declined and left, and instead enjoyed a wonderful dining experience at Zaika which we would very much recommend if you happen to decide to leave like we did! I am glad I did not spend my hard earned money at this restaurant.
My husband and myself were gifted a groupon voucher for our anniversary. On the voucher the only exclusion was Valentine’s Day 2019 and expires on 30/04/19. So with this in consideration we booked for 28th december and noted that we we will be using a Groupon Voucher. To our disappointment when we arrived at the restaurant, the manager turned us away saying that the offer isn’t valid until 2nd Jan 2019. He offered us a 30% discount if we ate that day but we refused and rebooked for Feb 2019. I’ve been to Mamounia Lounge a few times before and have never experienced such a mishap as this. It was very unfortunate that his approach and solution was so poor, I won’t be visiting again after we’ve used our voucher.
Food was lukewarm and meat lacked any flavour.
Service was very good but food was a real let down, considering I had high hopes for this place.
Definitely would not recommend.
Only plus was the cocktails.
The the amount charged was not worth the food. Also very small portions.
All of foods are authentic Moroccan and Arabian and were so tasty!! We had a special lunch with a friend from far area, this place is also recommendable for people who want to enjoy their conversation.
Always a nice time dining at Mamounia Lounge, Knightsbridge. Friendly staff, nice decor, ambience and music. However it seems the food portions are quite a bit smaller, lamb tangine was fantastic but portion size noticeably smaller than on previous occasions.
Really great customer service . Mohammed is the best very helpful with the shisha
I’ve eaten here a few times and service was always great. This night service was not good at all.
Absolute terrible experience- the waiters were so loud and abrupt shouting over our table, dancing with loose girls they had invited to the restaurant. We had to wait 30 mins for drinks then a further 30 for food. Food was average not worth the price but would absolutely not recommend this restaurant for a date night maybe for a hen night or stag do ... 0-10 rating!
Enjoyed the service and food and was a lovely atmosphere. All the staff were very accommodating as well.
It was my husband’s birthday and I wanted to surprise him with “good” Moroccan food. We only ordered tagine, lamb tagine for him and chicken tagine for myself. His lamb tagine was decent, but mine was awful! It were as if it was cooked for a sock person. No taste, no spices, gravy like water. When I asked for chilli sauce, I was given some sauce diluted on yoghurt. Why would I want bland yoghurt sauce for already bland food? The music being played was random trance music with nothing related to Morocco at all! I wish I had booked a better place for this occasion.
I took my boyfriend for his birthday dinner there because online they said online that there will be live entertainment on Friday and Saturday nights. He’s birthday was in th weekdays but I chose to take him there on the Saturday solely for the entertainment reason. I even booked my reservation at a time where I would be able to eat whilst the entertainment was happening. THERE WAS NO ENTERTAINMENT! I was so disappointed, the food wasn’t even very nice way too expensive for the experience I had. Will not be returning!
We had booked an afternoon tea for our wedding anniversary. The food was ok, not a lot given just a bite of about 2 items in the hot food and 5 pieces of baklava. The mint tea was the best thing about it. We had requested to sit in the nicer seating at the back but that was not open and we sat by the window.
Waiting staff were nice enough. Was a little underwhelmed as I was expecting something a little nicer as we had told them when booking that it was a celebration. We had shisha and the guy who served us was lovely and friendly but the price of £45 a shisha for something I have had before elsewhere for a fraction of the price was daylight robbery! Wouldn't go back in a rush to be honest which is a shame! Nice enough day and memorable.
I booked a table, caught a cab from Kensington and upon arrival, was faced with the staff packing everything away.
I told them that I'd booked a table and I was informed that they were closed. They told me that I'd made a mistake and must have booked my table for the following day. I hadn't. I can't rate the restaurant as I didn't get to eat there, a wasted cab ride and an empty stomach, I left.
Such a shame as it really looked good on the pictures but the reviews should have warned me.
Celebrating my birthday here was a real delight. The staff are so friendly and attentive. Food was delicious. The live DJ and belly dancer was an added bonus. Would thoroughly recommend.
Overall, a very good restaurant.
PROS: I tried it on a Thursday night and I certainly suggest it for the tasty food, the stylish decoration, the laid back atmosphere and the kind service. Although my chicken came out a bit uncooked the maitre offered to remake a fresh new course for me and then charged none of the two chicken plates.
CONS: the ambience light was too low and required us to use the mobile torch to read the menu.
Post show dinner, coinciding with friend’s birthday. Service was quick and attentive. Had a great time thank you.
Really great service! Atmosphere was brilliant!!
Food and shisha were fantastic. Highly recommend the truffle houmous as a starter. Service let things down. Waitress kept trying to up sell and very hasty in trying to get us to pay and leave despite the restaurant being empty at 7pm.
Got told they ran out of couscous, how can you run out of couscous, it's like a Italian saying they ran out of pasta or a burger place without chips. It's a small thing but it shows how badly organised the business is, how hard is it to send a staff out to purchase some straight away? A waitrose is right next door. Chicken tagine also tasted nothing like the ones in Morocco. Only good thing was the hummus, which is a small consolation.
Waiters didn’t give a table , waited 30 minutes for someone to take an order ... left before even being attended ...
Was expecting a lot better service , as I usually go to Mamounia Mayfair ... Knightsbridge location needs a lot of improvement in staff .
Very nice atmosphere, good food, nice belly dancer entertainment, shisha is heavily over priced but I guess that's Knightsbridge for you, I think they should offer a cheaper shisha deal for customers who have had a meal at Mamounia, other than this very nice evening
Came here for a birthday meal. The restaurant is really pretty and has great ambience music at the back including the live belly dancers. Food was also top notch :)
Overall the food was tasty, but did not justify the price tag. The standout items were the hummus with pine nuts and diced lamb, and the chocolate fondant. The latter was dissapointingly ruined, by my request for an additional scoop of ice cream being refused. They did accommodate my request eventually, but only after having to request to speak with the manager.
The atmosphere was completely ruined by a new born baby being placed right next to us, because babies aren't allowed in the lounge as people smoke shihsa inside apparently. Mind you, the only thing separating us from the lounge was 3 stairs. Hardly keeping the infant out of harm's way. Also I had a waitress ask of we were finished our starters, I was clearly dipping bread and still eating. Not what I want in an evening out.
Great authentic food. Service is very slow so be warned but if you have time worth the wait.
Live entertainment for the night was really Good. A little disappointed with the portion size ,expected more after having paid £35 pound for a meat platter only be served 6 slices of meat on a plate. Went to celebrate my birthday. Asked for a small plate with a candle and happy birthday written with icing. (Which most places do for free). The waiter failed to mention that this would result in a further £10 added to our bill.
Average place good shisha
I went for my birthday. The pictures on the site show an exclusive restaurant with amazing decor. However the restaurant was far from that. We asked to go inside but they said it was closed, instead They made us sit near the door and it looked like an old indian restaurant. That was the first put off. The menu was small and extremely pricey. You naturally assume the food would be of quality, however the food was tasteless and disgustly overpriced....ive genuinly had better as my local turkish takeaway. Ive been to many retaurants and ive had far better food for a fraction of the price. On top of that the service was absolutely poor with only one unattentive waitress. I went at around 7:30pm and the restaurant was very quite which is warning signs on its own. Another reason i chose this restaurant was because they serve shisha. However the shisha was £40 per pot, outside in the cold and the waitress warned us that it would only be 1 hour. Ive honestly never had such bad shisha in my life and £40 to sit outside in the cold for an hour!!! I wish i didnt ruin my birthday like that! If i could give the place 0 stars i would! This place is overrated, overpriced and preety crap!!!!
Pleasant suprise find after shopping at Harrods on our last dinner in London. The truffle hummus was absolutely amazing!!!!
The food served was very nice and tasty however, the managers service was appaling and very rude.
Food was great, service was terrible with a drink being spilt on me with £3 knocked off the bill!! Took over 15 mins for someone to come over after we had finished to clear the plates and get the bill. Not very attentive staff but food and ambience was nice.
Amazing food and drinks !! Was a little let down by the outside shisha area.......
rude staff and food quality is so bad, very expensive for poor food and service. we got asked to leave as they needed our table while we were eating. Strongly advice to not come here.
Nice location. Ambience was just perfect the. So was the service. And the food was amazing.
The food was lovely, also the service was excellent!!!Particular place and very nice location in London!!! For sure good occasion for come back!!!
Some of the best middle eastern food we have had. The Hommus Kawarma and Batata Harra from the Hot Mezze were flavorful and delicious. The mixed grill platter (Shish Taouk, Chicken Kafta, Lamb Kafta and Lamb Fatayel) was enough to serve 2 adults and 1 13 year old. The meats were tasty and grilled to perfection. The seasonings were just right. We would definitely return to this restaurant the next time we are in London and experience some of the other dishes (Moroccan) on their menu. Two enthusiastic thumbs up.
