Another outstanding dinner at the Brasserie! The tomato salad special was amazing, the best we've had all summer and we eat a lot of tomatoes! The outside patio has a gorgeous view of the mountains and we enjoyed a spectacular sunset with a truly delicious dinner.
Had an amazing dinner at the brasserie. The special Soupe de Poison was outstanding as was the rouille. Overall outstanding meal. Enjoyed chatting with Chef Frederic. I'm really looking forward to trying out the white asparagus!!
Outside dining was very COVID safe and the view is spectacular. Best food in town .
Mammoth’s best restaurant, bar none. One suggestion would be to add heaters outside as, in these times of COVID, one has to sit outside. But overall, a great experience every time we go.
Délicieux avec excellent service. Merci beaucoup!
The location is odd. The Brasserie is on the top floor of the bowling alley and there is no sign indicating the Brasserie. The view is spectacular but because of the virus restrictions all seating is outdoor which is fine but there are no heaters. It was freezing.
Food is average but the biggest complaint is that my food was stone cold. I had the short rib pasta. I can tell that they pre-cooled the penne. Not a bad thing but they didn’t reheat it and just put it on top of the short rib.
Food is very good. Nice varied wine list. A little hard to see the value because of the pandemic restrictions. Also the need to change the menu items more often
The online reviews did not give this place justice. Every dish we had was superb. The chef (who is French) balances the French cuisine sensibility with the great fresh ingredients available to him. My wife's halibut was perfectly cooked as was my elk. It only takes a couple of minutes to mess up either one of those dishes. What a gem at a bowling alley of all things!!
On Point flavors! Everyone loved their meal!
Beautiful view and we saw a bear, safely from the deck!
The wild mushroom strudel was wonderful. Rib eye steak and elk medallions cooked to perfection. First class service on a deck with view of the wilderness, plus the chef stopped by to chat a few times. We definitely will be back.
...... the MOST AMAZING food and a nature lovers dream. Great for quiet peaceful classy dining.
Service was slow and unapologetic. Felt so unwelcome that we will no longer be having our wedding rehearsal dinner there. Also, our credit card was not returned....it was found in the credit card machine. No apolgies for that either. Mammoth Rock Brasserie is not following CDC guidelines. Chef talking to another table without wearing a mask. Other servers not wearing masks either.
Great food, great view, great service! Been there 3 times now and always a great experience. Great place to dine out on the patio during COVID - plenty of space to spread out and not worry about anything but what to have for dinner (and dessert).
Although relegated to patio seating only, the experience was terrific! Great menu, food fantastic! I had the halibut....have NEVER tasted a better prepared halibut in my life! You need to dress warm, as it can be chilly in Mammoth in the evenings, but that did not take away from the overall perfect experience - service excellence included. Our favorite place to eat in Mammoth Lakes, and we live here!
Enjoyed the elk medallions and great cocktails! The chef was very friendly and the staff very attentive!
Awesome place, top service, stylish place with great music, high end restaurant with REAL French food 💚
We ate outside due to the Covid precautions and the view was so lovely. The food was gourmet and exceptionally prepared. Great service.
Love this place. Delicious food. Great service.
This is place is a spot of heaven in a place as close to heaven as your going to get. Yes it is above a bowling alley, but don't let that fool you. The food has great harmony with perfect technique. This is truly one of the best if not the best food in mammoth.
Best food in town. Great wine list. Super nice staff. Very relaxed. Nice views.
Great food and atmosphere under trying time while we all deal with Coronavirus. Tables were spaced appropriately to ensure social distancing and other safety measures were in place to ensure diners safety.
Food was excellent as always with delicious specials. Would highly recommend Mammoth Rock while in Mammoth Lakes.
Fantastic birthday dinner a Friday night in July during Covid19! We had 5:45 dinner reservations and were the only table inside until 6:30-outside tables were taken but still amazing view and ambiance. Service and food was top notch- we got daily specials lobster bisque and the halibut as well as a perfectly cooked filet mignon and a vegetarian Wellington! Pricey but for a special occasion so worth it!
Great view of the mountain! Great outside seating and lounge in the summer! Don’t let the location (above Rockin Bowl) dissuade you! Food was a bit overpriced but good! Large wine selection. Best time to go before sunset.
Great food. The chef came to chat with us and talked us through his specialties. The restaurant itself could use a face lift - the decor reminded me of small town office space from the 80s. We almost walked out but glad we didn’t. Give it a shot!
We came to the brasserie after a 4 day trip in the backcountry, eager for some "real" food. First of all, the Brasserie felt very safe - all employees and customers have masks, tables were distanced from one another and there is optional patio seating.
We started with an appetizer of mushroom streudel (5 stars), and the rest of the dinner met this nearly impossible standard. We split the Elk Medallions (exquisite!) and the vegetable torte (also exquisite) then had a delicate, flavorful creme brûlée with flecks of vanilla bean for dessert. We had mixed drinks (fabulous Manhattans!) , and we noticed that the wine list was extensive and of excellent quality.
The ambiance was friendly, clean and beautiful and the service was excellent and felt very safe, effective and natural - a 5 star experience all around.
This is one of our favorite dining options while in Mammoth. Always quality food, cooked to perfection; the cocktail menu delightful; and the desserts to die for. Always love the mushroom strudel. A favorite appetizer.
First night re-opening during the Covid closures. Great staff and delicious food!! Can’t wait to come back :)
Fred and his staff never fail to impress. Wonderful food, great cocktails, attentive staff and views of the Sherwins make for a memorable birthday dinner with friends
Cocktails are a standout- my wife’s favorite is the Brasserie Cosmo. Two of us started out with the British Columbia mussels- succulent, sweet, perfectly cooked in a wonderful sauce. My wife and Kathy each had the risotto with shaved truffle- absolutely delicious. Main courses were the lamb shank, beef bourguignon and diver scallops with a leek truffle sauce. All cooked to perfection and beautifully presented
This is by far the best restaurant in Mammoth
We took some friends here because we had a great experience when we first came to the restaurant and we were not disappointed. The Mushroom Strudel was excellent as always, but the roasted butternut squash soup was outstanding! All of our food was cooked to perfection (salmon, filet, elk) and the deserts were the perfect finish. With wait staf was friendly, personable and engaged, and the Chef/owner was a visible and engaged presence. We will make it a point to come here with friends whenever we are in town!
We have always enjoyed dining at Brasserie because of the outstanding food and great views at sunset!!
We come back each year and the food and atmosphere is always great.
Excellent food and service with one of the best views in all of Mammoth for dining.
Strange to have a restaurant above a bowling alley, but it didn't matter once your in. Parking capacity is inadequate. View of the mountains is very nice. Service and food was about as good as it gets. Attention to food preparation and presentation are apparent. The chef has skills. Quality dining does come at a premium price.
We had a wonderful experience at the Brasserie!! From the manager, wait staff to the chef himself, we felt well taken care of. The food was amazing, you have to try the mushroom strudel, a favorite! We will definitely be back and recommend this restaurant to all our friends.
Best restaurant in Mammoth. We travel a lot and love French restaurants and were very surprised to find such a quality place upstairs of a bowling alley. Wish we knew about this gem before. We will definitely be back. Food was excellent, the chef comes out and makes sure everyone likes their dish, prices were appropriate.
Wonderful treat of a restaurant! great wine and beer and cocktail selection, very attentive but unobtrusive service, and delightful and creative food. My yellowfin was amazing, and my wife’s elk (with blueberry balsamic glaze) was out of this world. A great addition to the Mammoth dining scene
My wife & I had a wonderful pre-fixe Valentine’s Day dinner at Mammoth Rock-n-Bowl Brassiere. The food was superb and they have an extensive wine list to pair it with. We were impressed that although it was busy, the Chef made several trips through the dining area to make sure everyone was satisfied with their dinner. Our server, Crystal, made us feel like we were her only customers! Thank you!
