The best in Mammoth!
After not being in Mammoth for five years we were thrilled find Chef Frederic Pierrel at the Brasserie. We went to the Lakefront at Tamarack Lodge every year when chef was there and were never disappointed. Our meal at the Brasserie was terrific and the service professional. It's an unusual place for such fine dining but once you are in the restaurant the room and ambiance are great. Highly recommended.
What is surprise to find a fine dining restaurant above a bowling alley. The food was wonderful and the service was great if you like elk this is the place to go for it
Restaurant is located upstairs in a bowling alley but is very elegant. Chef is great!
Excellent food, fresh and tasty. Service was very good.
Ambiance is good but if there is a large party near you try to move.
Food was really excellent! Beautiful presentation. Especially loved the pork medallions with gorgeous array of vegetables and the mushrooms in pastry to start. We were surprised to find such fine cuisine and an elegant dinning room above a fun family bowling alley. Best dinner in Mammoth. Service was friendly and very professional and the chef walks round all the tables. Highly recommend !
Everything was great, from the Manhattan before dinner, to the best-ever wild mushroom soup, to the entrees and apple tart for dessert. The only small issue I had was the “boom boom” of music coming up from the bowling alley. It made everyone have to talk loud to be heard, not exactly romantic. But, that being said, it was far and away some of the very best food we’ve had in Mammoth since Chef Frederic left The Lakefront. So much care goes into each dish! We will be back.
Both my wife and I had excellent meals. We enjoyed the Lamb shank and Elk medallions. Service was excellent.
We eat at this restaurant every time we visit mammoth.. amazing food.. once you try it you will go back
The chef and owner is Fremcb so the food is really special. We had elk medallions which are something you don't really find often. They were fantastic: tasty and tender.after that we had peach ice cream made in house from local grown peaches. Liquor and wine selection also excellent. Many otherr restaurants iammoth should take notice and try to be much better.
Never had a bad meal. Excellent personal attention
Absolutely love this restaurant! Chef is amazing, our server Amara hope I spelled that correct, was truly a gem. Highly recommend and we will definitely be back!! Great restaurant!! 5 stars!!
Absolutely fantastic experience!
The food was good, but not that much better than other restaurants in Mammoth, and the ambiance was fine once you were in the restaurant. But they don't have enough parking (we had to park a couple blocks away because their lot was completely full) and you have to walk through an extremely loud bowling alley and dodge a bunch of teenagers to get to the restaurant. Then our server was busy with a big table so we had to wait quite awhile to get a drink. If there weren't so many great restaurants in Mammoth, I would probably go back, since the food really was good. But given how much choice there is, we probably won't bother again.
We had another awesome experience at Mammoth Rock Brasserie celebrating a family birthday. The food, service, atmosphere & personal visit to the table by Chef Frederic always make for a good time. Our waitress went out of her way to accommodate our special menu request and we really appreciated it.
Food was incredible. Best we had in Mammoth. Awesome chef. Had. Great Christmas dinner. Would highly recommend
One of the best restaurants to hit up when visiting Mammoth! We came for a special Christmas prefix menu, and everything was prepared so well.
Fabulous restaurant to have a nice pre-Christmas dinner with family and friends. Best restaurant in Mammoth hands down. Our dinner was worthy of dinners I’ve had in great restaurants in NYC and San Francisco.
The Venue was nice, and ambience ok. Apart from the Elk my wife ordered the food was really so-so. The French Onion Soup was served luke warm at best and on the oily side. The pork was pretty ordinary and left me feeling a bit off. The peach buttermilk ice cream was tasteless. Well it certainly didn’t taste like peach and as a hotelier i could tell it was stored in a plastic container. The waiter was great though.
amazing wine list and the scallops were to die for! Also truffle risotto was delicious:)
I don't eat out very often in Mammoth, my hometown, but this is one of my favorite places. Fred always does a great job with the food.
Thoughtfully well-prepared food. We will be going back again.
Wonderful food and service. Extensive wine list. Highly recommend. Prices are moderate, but quality of food and portions are very good.
Outstanding food and service. Chef Frederic makes the dinner personal by recommending wines and dishes. The menu is varied and very dish I have tried there has been excellent.
Best thanksgiving meal ever! Tender juicy turkey and fabulous chestnut stuffing along with all the trimmings. All beautifully plated and served by a super friendly waiter. What a great evening.
We had Thanksgiving dinner here. It was excellent food and terrific service.
We came here for Thanksgiving dinner. The menu was prefixed with a great selection. It was so fantastically good!! Chef Frederic went to all the tables and talked to everyone. Our waiter was also great. He was very personable and attentive. I had Barramundi and my family had Beef Tenderloin. All was cooked to perfection. This was our first time coming here and will definitely be coming back. Thank you for a wonderful dinner chef:)
I have followed Chef Frederic to three different restaurants for the French Onion Soup alone. Always a wonderful meal, and the best view from a restaurant in town.
Exceptional in every way! Chef Frederic visited our table before we ordered to explain the entrees and answer any questions we might have. Eddie, our server, was attentive and knowledgeable, without hovering or over-powering. The lamb was beyond words to describe, the ahi tuna prepared to perfection and the classic escargot was some of the best in our memory. Most highly recommend this venue!
Bad service waitresses was horrible. Sub par food.
Went early to enjoy the Mountain View.. very nice Meal, good cocktails and wine lists
This place is a real find! Great food. Great service. And a fantastic view to boot.
Everything was fine. Special praise for the onion soup and the wild mushroom strudel. Great wines and service
Food was great. Service was great. Wine was outstanding.
This place was so good, we went there twice on our vacation. The French Onion Soup is sooo delicious! We also tried the escargot and the wild mushroom strudel and they will not disappoint. The service from Eddie, Stephan and Elizabeth was outstanding along with the view. If you want, you can even order appetizers from the same kitchen down in the bowling area bar. Great service from Jake there also!
This was our second time here. We would recommend to anyone visiting or living near Mammoth Lakes as this time we drove up while staying at Benton Hot Springs. The waiter Eddie suggested my husband get the beef tenderloin special which was right on even better than my elk medallions! They also had chocolate mousse for dessert which delighted me. Glad they are on Open Table now.
Best meal that I can remember in Mammoth. Wonderfully delicious. Service slowed down when the restaurant filled up, but a busy restaurant in Mammoth on a Thursday in October say a lot about how good it is. A bit pricy ($100 for two with no wine or dessert), but every bit as good as the expensive restaurants in L.A. Looking forward to going back before too long.
We have eaten here twice and always enjoyed it. The food is very good and the service likewise. The view to the south into the Sherwin Mountains is the best in town.
Great food, very good service , nice wine.
