Mama Melina always satisfy with excellent food, great service and wonderful ambiance. I and my friends have visited the restaurant many times. Try it you’ll like it.
The front of house waiter (or perhaps manager?) never acknowledged my presence when I came to meet my husband who had already been seated. I had even said “hello” to the man who was at the front waiting area and he totally ignored me so I said “Ok, I’ll seat myself!” Our server was very good and extremely attentive. We noticed that there was more than one server, bartender and manager fussing over one table which of course takes away from the adjacent tables waiting for attention. We were lucky our server was not part of that doting group. My husband had ordered a martini while waiting for me, a martini “wet”. The bartender came to my husband asking him “ so you say you want a wet martini, do you KNOW what that means?” Good gosh. My husband was probably 15 years older him and told him “ yes, of course. Why?” The bartender asked him “well, how much vermouth do you really want?” So my husband proceeded to oblige this incessant questioning, not really believing he was having this interchange to begging with.. Alas, it was all figured out. Phew!
Then, the meal. My husbands meal was good, a special. I typically like to order a Bolognese to see how well the pasta is made. Part of my pasta was in a huge unbreakable rubberized clump. Almost like what store bought pasta does if you “nuke” it. I ate mostly around the clump & the flavor was just OK. Although, I didn’t love it, I did eat some so I could give my body some sustenance prior to the concert we were headed to afterwards. Instead of asking me what was wrong with my food, the sever asked if I wanted a box, and I said “no, thank you” and she did seem shocked. I left the clump hoping they’d see with their own eyes why... because if you can’t catch that, you shouldn’t be running the food to the customer.... and I’ll defend the server here because her food was expedited by other people. Overall, the experience was OK. I used to frequent Mamma Melina before they changed locations & we miss that experience. 😏
Excellent food and service.
Quality of food and service is consistent.
It was Valentine's day and the food on the menu was spectacular. The food was delicious and I'm looking forward to visiting this fine dining establishment again. The dessert menu needs more tantalizing treats added but I was too full to eat more anyway, although there is always more room for delicious deserts right. I still give this restaurant an A+ in my book.
Family owned with excellent food. Waiter very helpful with wine pairing.
I booked a dinner for Valentine via Google Map and got confirmed pretty soon. No wait time, everything went smoothly. And the food is great, environment is romantic. Will come again.
We love this restaurant. The food is great and so is the service. Lots of hard surfaces so it can be noisy.
Great food, great service (thank you, Michael), good wine selection...what more can you want? Well...without asking, Michael our server, noticed a card on the table and brought our daughter a birthday tiramisu - that's incredible service and care. Thank you, MIchael and all!
excellent! We went on Saturday for lunch. Good good and the lunch special is great.
I've been twice recently but I doubt I'll voluntarily go again. It's far too noisy,
Mamma Melina is a very nice neighborhood restaurant serving authentic Italian food. I loved the Vitello ai funghi selvatici. The staff is friendly and accommodating, prices are reasonable, and also very important – convenient parking.
Overall, a good dining experience, good food, excellent service, though a little loud for conversation and packed a bit tightly. Would recommend though.
The GF noodles were soooo good and also the Chilean sea bass! Wonderful atmosphere and service. I think it’d be cool to have live music there - it would add even more to a great dining experience. Just my opinion :)
Staff was personable and knowledgeable.
