    We offer an invigorating outdoor dining experience on our second-floor covered deck, here at Mambo Mountain Italian, for those who are staircase accessible! We have a plethora of organic herbs and plants surrounding you from all sides, with straight on views of Big Mountain here in gorgeous Whitefish, Montana. You can relax out of the direct sun, while still soaking in that mountain air, and listening to the soft melodies from the Sinatra days of old, along with the sounds of our downtown mountain town!     This was our second visit to Mambo. We had a reservation and were promptly seated in a porch type area where tables were crowded close together. Our waiter seemed inexperienced and a bit overwhelmed with all the tables he was serving. We never got our requested water although our other beverages arrived. The wine pour was very small. We came for the good food and that we did get! The tootsie roll appetizer along with the warm olives were both delicious…although the rustic bread served with the olives was burned beyond redemption. We had the yummy table bread to enjoy with the olives. We wanted the Calimari but they were out. For entrees we shared the generous serving of Pollo Con Formaggio, with a side of bow tie pasta which was outstanding and the lasagne which was good but a little watery. Toward the end of our meal a very bubbly young female server began helping our server and the service improved. This is obviously a very popular venue thus the crowded dining area and the server who struggled to keep up. Would we go back again? Yes…the tootsie rolls, the house bread and the chicken dish would be enough to bring us back and to say our overall experience is still 5 stars.

    A year ago, my husband and I had used Mambo's for our rehearsal dinner. We decided to come back to Whitefish and revisit the memories we shared together last year. We really did enjoy our evening, but only the second half. We were celebrating our one year anniversary, and I'm aware it's close quarters to begin with, but we literally got sat next (as in same bench) to a table of four, with two of them being kids under the age of five that were very loud and wouldn't stop screaming. We would have asked for a different seat, but they had written on the paper happy anniversary, and we would have felt bad. My recommendation would just be to make sure that when you know someone is celebrating an anniversary, maybe give them a little bit more privacy, or at least not near screaming kids so they can enjoy it their date night.

    We have eaten at Ciao Mambo many times and it has always been very good and solid. I’m hoping that last night was an off night for them. The bolognese didn’t have any meat in the sauce and was overloaded with cheese. The Pollo con Fromaggio was very overcooked and instead of the nice marinara sauce that used to be served with this dish was now very watery. Even the garlic bread, which is literally the best we ever had, wasn’t the same. We left feeling a disappointed and again, we are hoping that last night was an off night.

    Excellent food - fresh, delicious, most pasta dishes are available gluten-free. The house-made meatballs were juicy, seasoned perfectly and their homemade marina is crazy delicious. Our server was attentive but not overly so and made several great recommendations along with noting everything is made to order "so feel free to ask for any accommodations." Their garlic bread? My husband loved it and he is usually not a "bread" guy (I didn't have any due to gluten issue but it looked and smelled wonderful). Will go back again if we're ever back in the Whitefish area.

    Way too noisy plus our waiter Walter had an attitude and also was one of the people that was yelling. Folks must like it however, as it was super busy. My food came out lukewarm warm and I never could get Walter back to take care of that issue.
