Such a strange, funky experience, that we were totally down for, for the first hour. Disco music blaring over the table no napkins, warm water, my friend’s meal showed up 30 minutes after the rest of us had our food and then we waited for at least 30min for the check. Not to mention that the Ragu was completely flavorless. We naïvely asked the waiter to recommend wine and he of course poured the $138 bottle. There was no wine list with prices. Food was over priced for what you were served. My friends hit McDonald’s on the way home after ordering the ~$40 clam and shrimp dish. Gnocchi was good. The rest was Very disappointing.

Sorry that I can’t leave a 5⭐️ review because the food offered was the best Italian in the area. The staff was incredibly sweet; however, for the price I should not have to ask for a napkin replacement after you dribbled the wine in my place setting and cleaned it up with my PAPER napkin And, if you clear away my silverware with the the appi plate, please replace it either before or when the entree is served, don’t make me ask. Entree was delicious but a small serving. Drinks were way to slow to arrive. Ambiance was a chill vibe for a pop up despite the lack of A/C. With a little polish and an experienced staff, this could be a solid go to for Italian food.

We really enjoyed dinner here! The food was wonderful. Meatballs and burrata were good choices for appetizers. 6hr pasta was like eating my father in law’s and brought wonderful memories. Ambience was laid back and comfortable. I felt like I was having dinner in the Caribbean

Superb. Excellent food. Great tasting. A gem! Next to VFW American Legion The food was delicious. Limited menu - but perfect. Really appropriate portions (note they are not large giant portions, but appropriately sized). Desserts were super, too!

I am an Italian food snob and this was legit! We ordered prime - bread, evoo and vinegar, burrata and carpaccio and they were all delicious. For Secondi - Gnocchi was very soft and light and the evenings sauce was a spicy arriabiate which was also very light. Perfecting gnocchi requires a talent. The ragu dish was made from veal shank and served over a curved home made pasta with ridges to catch the sauce. All entrees paired very well. There were 3 desserts on the menu and we ordered all three and they were amazing. The wine list could be a little more comprehensive. This "pop up" should look for a permanent location. They would kill it!

Don’t let the American Legion location fool you…Mamasamas is about as charming as it gets. The food is unbelievably good with an upbeat vibe. I highly recommend the beef carpaccio, ricotta spinach balls, and gnocchi. Chef’s kiss! We’ll be back for sure.

Best Italian in the 904. You can tell a lot of effort goes into the kitchen. Laid back atmosphere. Cozy experience with excellent Italian and friendly staff. Much better than Salumeria.

The food was excellent and the service was good. We knew it was a “pop up” at the VFW Hall so the ambience was to be expected. My only small suggestions concern communicating what drinks are available and the lack of pasta with my main course. There were some small chalk boards around the restaurant that offered four or five white wine and red wine choices which was fine. And the price was very reasonable. However there was nothing about cocktails being available and we incorrectly assumed they were not because the waiter didn’t offer any and they weren’t listed any where. After we ordered wine we noticed many tables being served cocktails. My entree was fantastic (shrimp and claims in a delicious broth) but I just assumed there would be a pasta base especially given the price of the entree. My wife had the pasta with mushrooms and it was excellent. We’ll definitely come back!

If it wasn’t connected to the American Legion, it would have been a much better experience. Also not sure what will happen in the summer as there is no A/C. Bummer that half of your tab goes to the AL- definitely the reason why we won’t go back. Having to go to the bathroom over there was a pretty unfortunate experience as the AL is a pretty gross place. There is a sign in the women’s restroom that says ‘if you flush it, you fish it’. The pasta was pretty good, but our beef carpaccio was basically melted since it was so hot. I would highly recommend the owner of mamasamas to relocate.

Our dinner was fabulous! Burrata and arancini were fantastic. The gnocchi and pasta with mushrooms were so delicious. What a treat this new restaurant is! Luca was the best! We love this very authentic Italian restaurant.

We had a reservation at 7:30pm. When we arrived we waited at the front entrance for 5 minutes before anyone came up to say hello. Finally the hostess came to the front and hastily threw a menu at us and said she didn’t have a table. Go over to the bar ( in the VFW ) and she would let us know when they would be ready for us. All fine, but her attitude was very rude. We entered the bar and they were all out of draft beer, had no wine except a sweet white. We sat for a while and decided to cut our losses and left. The whole experience was such a disappointment
