Mama's Mac & Cheese
Half dozen fried golden brown & served over coleslaw with mustard aioli
Shrimp, Scallops, Clams, Applewood Smoked Bacon, chunks of potatoes & veggies.
The restaurant was nice, and the food was great. I had a party of 7 and was seated upstairs. It was a tight squeeze for us. A party of 3 was seated in a table behind us in a corner. Our chair legs were literally touching. We had a disagreement with the table behind us because every time I or my daughter got up we had to ask them to move. So, next time I would ask to be differently. The upstairs dining area is very small.
Went here for our 4 year anniversary and enjoyed the food and drinks
Didn't realize that they served brunch. Our party of 9 ordered a variety of entrees and everyone was very happy with their food. Service was friendly and our food came out quickly. We ordered cocktails and the Bloody Mary was excellent.
Great service from wait staff
Food was on point
Table of 6 was tightly spaced but worked
They have, in my opinion, the best crabcakes in Baltimore! Also love the mac and cheese and the balsamic dressing on their garden salad is amazing. Love this spot.
I just don't understand why this restaurant does not have a constant line of people waiting to get in? The food, service, atmosphere, everything is just first rate. Plus, they take and KEEP reservations. If you have not tried Mama's, get your butt there and have an awesome experience. Unique beer mussels. best ever fried fish platter, great oyster selection and of course, best crab cake in Balmer!
Some of the best seafood ever. The boullibase and steamer plate were terrific
First time trying this restuarant and I would definitely go back. Food and service was great.
The seafood was really good as well as the service. The restaurant was a bit loud and cramped. Be prepared to walk up a flight of steps for seating. Overall good experience.
Despite being in a corner pub this place has a good vibe and terrific food. Great choices for every palate and appetite. Drink are good as well. A bit pricey but food quality is equivalent. Would come back again.
Great as always.
Our server, JuanCarlos was absolutely amazing! Even though the place was very busy and it took our food a little longer to come out, due to a large group, he was very attentive and got every order correct. I just cannot say enough about his great service! 😃😃😃
Great . Fast seating excellent service
Great experience! Superb food, awesome service! Would totally recommend and come back!
The Chicken Baltimore is DELICIOUS! I enjoyed my experience at this establishment from the moment we walked in.
Excellent as always! Love the food, drinks and the the service brings it all together!!! Thank you for a great evening!!!
Experience was wonderful food was great atmosphere ok! But after a wonderful dinner and nice time we are eating dessert and saw a MICE running around the table across from us up stairs kind of made that great dinner in our stomachs a little quizzie just thinking what If there in the kitchen to. Place was nice and clean but that mouse threw us off!
Place is good. You can just be yourself as it is so casual. Place is small but you can fit just right. Food is great, small option of food in menu or probably just because it is with Restaurant week.
Really a top seafood spot in baltimore. But the space is tight, especially in the bar area on the first floor, so be ready for close seating. Loudness rooms too. But the food options and quality are what make this a must-try. Do the steamed beer mussels.
Can’t go wrong with the crab cake platter, highly recommend Mac n cheese as a side
I’ve been there twice inside of 12 months. I live in Florida. The highlight of coarse are the raw oysters. They are very tasty and very attractively priced. We just happen to have a tab of over $300 for four of us. But it was worth every dime.
Food and service were very good. I got the Steamer Platter. Md Crab Soup, and garden salad andwas happy with all of it. Crab soup had chunks of crab in it and lots of veggies.Only thing about the SteamerPlatter is the potatoes had afunny taste.
I love the atmosphere and the location wasn’t that bad small little town area and the food was pretty good
Food was better than I expected. I liked the environment, great for impressing a date. I would go again and take a friend. Much better than Rusty Scupper's
Cons: Parking was a huge challenge! Space inside the restaurant was kind of cramped. Crab dip was disappointing. To me, it had a more "fishy" taste, then crab and was on the salty side. The bread served with it was cold, so I just tried it on a cracker. Pros: Waiter was very attentive and extremely friendly. The meal was delicious! I had the crab cake, macaroni and cheese, and asparagus....YUM! Definitely would recommend this restaurant!
Always delicious and fun atmosphere!
Mamas on a half shell was a bit overrated but good food nonetheless.
Staff was very pleasant, food quality very good, very fresh and delicious
Went for lunch while hosting some out of town coworkers. We had an early reservation at 1130 and were seated immediately. I've been here before and its as good as remembered. Service was great. Food was great. I got the shrimp salad, without the roll and the portion was huge. Everyone's portions were very large. We also got oysters because you dont go to Mama's and not get oysters. Always a good time. Reasonably priced, good food and great service.
The grilled oysters were excellent; the grilled fish, not so much. I ordered the grilled halibut and wondered why it was served with a side of drawn butter. After the first bite I realized the fish was not marinated or seasoned at all and it was also little overcooked. If ordering a fish other than salmon you will likely want to go with blackened, if you would like flavor other than drawn butter. My wife got the bouillabaisse and it was very delicious and had lots of seafood in it. Service was prompt for everything including staff dedicated to refilling waters which is always a plus.
Nice people working there but the food was very overpriced.
Great dining experience on a Saturday afternoon. Fabulous food and attentive staff. We sat at a hightop in the bar area. A little noisy but not distracting. Seafood selections were tasty. Cannot beat the Orange Crush.
Another great experience at Mama's on the Half Shell. My favorite place for Maryland Crab soup.
Simply the best of B’more and its seafood bounty. Has a “crush” and enjoy the food, hon!
My Boyfriend & I had such a lovely time. He really enjoyed the mussles as our appetizer, as well as I. He had the stuffed shrimp that looked devine. I had the crab stuffed salmon which was so delicious and flavorful. The service was promp, polite and attentive. The atmosphere was cozy and conversational appropriate. The manager Steven was very courteous with his table rounds as he made sure each customer was satisfied with food and services. My Love & I will definitely be returning.
We came here while on vacation, after I had done a bunch of research on great local eats. We agreed on Mama's and boy are we glad we did! The food, atmosphere, staff...all amazing! I wish we lived locally ourselves so we could make this a regular place we dined. Food was fresh and delicious. Our server, Katie, was awesome. She gave great suggestions and was sure we were taken care of from start to finish. Definitely recommend!!
The best seafood chowder, oysters and crab cakes! I stop here every time I pass Baltimore!
Overall a solid dining experience. Everyone enjoyed their meal.We would return. The day had been hot and even at 7:30pm, at least 80 degrees, but wow the air conditioning was blasting on the upper level more than necessary. My usual test for the bartender is to order a New York Sour; passed the test!
This is by far my new favorite place! If I could have ordered the entire menu I would have. Everything was fantastic, Eleni was extremely knowledgeable about each and every single dish. We will most certainly be back!!
Had high hopes for this place, with it being among the Top 5 rated places to go for seafood in BALTIMORE. We had a questionable feeling from the start since the place was virtually empty on a Saturday night, with only several patrons in the bar area and virtually no one in the upstairs area except for two other couples. Somehow we got seated directly beside another couple, in a corner with a big wall obstruction that blocked any sort of view to the left, which felt like childhood punishment over again. Ordered fries as an appetizer and they came out cold. The second batch was hard as if they were cooked twice but we dealt with it, as the expectations were low at this point. Ordered the Chesapeake Chicken and it was drenched in "imperial" sauce, had little crab meat and no vegetables($26)..3/10 dish. My GF ordered the seafood special which is all fried shrimp, scallops and fish w/a side of vegetables. She only got one shrimp and the rest looked like a "Hip Hop Chicken" meal($38), which is where we should've went if we knew how bad this place was. I usually pick off of her plate but I objected because it didn't have the slightest appeal of stimulating my tastebuds. I can accept a swing and a miss on a new food spot but what bothers me the most are the ridiculous and unworthy prices of the meals at this place. Not sure if the management has changed or if the people of Baltimore have poor taste but this place isn't 4.5/5 tier and certainly doesn't meet up to the pricing of the menu. Thanks for reminding me to follow my initial intuition about a spot so I don't waste my time, money on one like this, it means so much.
