   Mama's on Main is one of my favorite restaurants, the atmosphere is always great and the staff is so friendly everytime we come back. The servers/waiters are super knowledgeable and always go the extra mile to explain things and give their opinions. Will be going back again in 6 mo like i always do!!

   What a delightful find on Main Straus in Covington! It’s a very cute restaurant with extra tables on the sidewalk. The staff was quick to check on food sensitivities and made great suggestions for alternatives. I ordered the eggplant Parmesan, it was served hot with just enough pasta and sauce. It was a wonderful visit,can’t wait to go back and try something else!!

    I really like it overall, but we were there on a busy Friday and you could tell the bar was slow and the kitchen was running fast. Usually, that would be a good thing but we ordered Drinks, apps, salads, and entrees, and the salads and apps came out before the drinks. And then our app came out right before the entrees. I think they just need to get their pacing down a bit better. Otherwise, our server was really kind. I didn't think the prices matched the food. Lobster Ravioli was delicious and I think it matched its price point. But the calamari was full of more banana pepper rings than actual calamari. We really enjoyed the decor and inspiration behind the whole place. Also a very nice wine selection.

    The server was attentive and did not rush us. The wine was a bit overpriced for the quantity and the quality. Would not order again. The Focaccia was very good but bread should be included with the meal and the whipped Ricotta should be an option for a charge. The Calamari was excellent as were the chicken Parm and the linguine with clam sauce. Overall a wonderful evening.

    Overall pretty good experience. Happy to sit outside on a beautiful evening. Server was great. Nice bottle of wine, and appetizers were fabulous (olives and focaccia with whipped ricotta) but entrees fell a little flat (chicken parm and spaghetti with clam sauce)

    We sat outside and had a great time. Arancini were delicious, so was the mushroom pasta. Great place for a date night. Big portions and very reasonably priced. We will be back.

    I was excited to try this place but I’m not sure we’ll be back. Dinner felt very rushed; not welcoming. It was a Monday, and not crowded, but we felt like we were rushed through to order all of drinks and courses. Our whole meal, with 4 people, including drinks, appetizer, main course and dessert/coffee took less than an hour. All in all I call it just ok.

    We ordered calamari as appetizer but it came already with lemon on it. My son likes that, but I don't. That should be served separately to be poured if needed/wanted. The Ricota gnocci was fantastic (little portion though) and the Tiramisu was to die for!

    Came for Mother’s Day and our order came out incorrect. Unfortunately it was my mom’s pasta that came out wrong, was a total different dish than she ordered. I know mistakes happen, but we waited 20-25 minutes for the corrected pasta to arrive. This completely ruined our Mother’s Day meal as everyone else was done with their food when her’s arrived. Our waitress was not apologetic and a manager eventually comped the dish but they were truly acting as if they were not in the wrong. This was my favorite restaurant before I had this experience, food is so yummy but will not be returning any time soon due to this negative experience on such an important day.

    We had a fabulous and delicious meal. We were fortunate to get a table outside and the weather was perfect. The pastas were yummy. The snap pea salad was a unique and tasty dish. We also had a half liter of red wine. Our server was also cheerful and great. I highly recommend this place and will be coming back.

    The inside of the restaurant had a very unappealing odor, like a backed up sewer drain or something equally as unpleasant. We were seated upstairs. For a small room it was quite loud which make conversation between the 3 of us a little difficult but manageable. The food was truly quite good overall however the evening was ruined by the presence of a MOUSE in our dining room. We brought it to the attention of our server who replied “oh yeah we know. Found it yesterday and we are trying to handle it humanely”. While these things do happen in old buildings, it was handled very poorly as if it wasn’t a big deal. We were looking forward to dessert as we were celebrating a birthday, but as the mouse ran right under our table it was time to go.

    One of the best Italian restaurants ever! So fresh and delicious, from the best ever focaccia bread, calamari, gnocchi, pork chop, dessert. All 10 out of 10 plus amazing ambiance and service. Wish I lived closer I would visit regularly.

    Mama’s on Main is a nice eclectic restaurant with welcoming staff. Our first time there. Chose this restaurant to celebrate my wife’s birthday, so our group had 2 adults and 2 teens. For starters we enjoyed the focaccia bread and whipped ricotta. Our server John was very nice, kept up on table water, kept the table clean and was attentive to our needs. We did have to ask for soda refills, but not a big inconvenience. I wanted the pasta with vodka sauce and the menu noted you could add roasted chicken for an additional fee. I asked John if the kitchen could sub with blackened chicken (grilled or fried), but kitchen couldn’t accommodate the request. John advised that chicken is prepared ahead of dinner service, so chefs can’t cook to order. If you have dietary restrictions you may want to call in advance to see if they can accommodate you. I opted for Chicken Parmigiana, which my wife ordered as well. Spaghetti was perfectly al dente. The chicken seemed to have a panko breading. It was topped with fresh basil, sauce and melted mozzarella. For me, it lacked flavor on its own and would have liked more Italian seasoning. I’m also the guy who wanted my chicken blackened so it’s just my personal taste. My younger son is very picky, so he came for the Cacio e pepe, and was bummed to find out its offered as a seasonal dish only. We asked John if there was something similar, but what was offered had mushrooms. He settled on spaghetti & meatballs. My wife ate the meatballs and liked them. My other son loved the Caesar salad and the calamari appetizer as his main meal. We all passed on deserts because of fullness and brought home leftover chicken parm. When I made the reservation on Open Table, I noted that we were celebrating a birthday. I don’t know if that information was excluded or not when it was forwarded to the restaurant, but they didn’t acknowledge it. My only complaint is the chef’s inability to make food accommodations. Otherwise, good food and experience.

    We had a great time sitting outside. I would recommend the bread service, fried Calamari, Cezar Salad and the spaghetti with clam sauce. The tiramisu was also outstanding. Drinks were delicious and the service great. We will be back.

    If you are wondering why it's so hard to get a reservation at Mama's on Main, then try harder, go earlier, and enjoy this wonderful dining experience. I have gone there to fuel before the Flying Pig, and while they don't have a menu with everything on it, they have wonderful, fresh pasta dishes and a killer chicken parmigiana. The calamari is also very good, and we are harsh critics of this dish. The service is impeccable, and the décor, like all their restaurants, is worth a visit alone. I can't recommend this place any higher.
