This new spots was pretty crowded and bustling with activity the night we dined there. The service was excellent being attentive to our needs, but not overly intrusive. My meal buccaretti carbonara was way too salty but my two friends enjoyed their dishes of chicken limone and eggplant parm. We ended up paying $50 a person with one appetizer four drinks and dinners without side dishes.
Absolutely amazing food! Loved everything.
Loved our time at Mama's Boy! Food was great, service was amazing. My boyfriend felt extra special on his birthday thanks to the amazing staff.
Lovely spot. Manager and everyone else could not have been nicer. We’ll be back!
My family was visiting from out of town and wanted to take them to one of my favorite places since the food and service are always amazing. The staff is incredibly attentive and the chef puts so much care into the dishes. Amazing!
Incredible food and incredible service! A little bit pricey but it’s all worth it. We will be back!
Great Italian restaurant, great service and they pay very close attention to details. They ensure customers are very happy.
First time there, will return for sure. Service was probably the best I ever had!!
An excellent way to end our Chicago 3-day adventure! Our meal was outstanding - even our hard to please kids enjoyed every bite. In addition, our waiter was outstanding - professional, polite, and friendly. If we travel to Chicago again, we’ll definitely be back to Mama’s Boy!
Very friendly service. Enjoyed joking with our server and his suggestions for food and wine.
It was great as usual.
The food and service were excellent. Our server was incredibly professional and helpful with wonderful suggestions. Management was very friendly and continually made sure all was going well yet we’re not intrusive. Really a special place.
I love everything about this restaurant, I have had drinks at the bar, dined a couple times now in the bar and restaurant.
The service was amazing and I’m still dreaming about my linguine with clams!
Fantastic food and service!
Mama's Boy is part of Rosebud Restaurants. We've eaten at other Rosebud locations but hadn't tried Mama's Boy previously. We LOVE the sausage and peppers appetizer. Otherwise good Italian food, reasonably priced for downtown Chicago. Service was fine. Main courses of seafood risotto and chicken parmesan were excellent.
Best service and best pasta I have ever had!!
Absolutely phenomenal !!! The service was spectacular. So happy we came here. Will definitely be visiting every time I return to Chicago. Will recommend to all family / friends.
The general manager at Mamas Boy is great! I called 15 min before our reservation and had to increase our party of 6 to 12 on a Saturday night. Eddie said it was no problem, and was able to accommodate our large party on short notice. The food is outstanding and inventive. The service is superb. I am a raving fan of Mamas Boy
This is a MUST! The menu and food was outstanding. The presentation of the food was gorgeous. We ordered the Burrata special, which was one of the best burrata I've had. I also loved the cheese wheel and being able to go into the kitchen to see it. Will definitely go back!!
great place for lunch. great menu choices for lite fare of for chowing. best Minestrone soup i have ever had.
What a special treat! We went here for my daughter‘s birthday… And we received extra special service. We had to wait a few minutes for our reservation… No big deal. The manager could not have been more gracious and he sent over a pizza for our children to start snacking on. It was delicious. The cocktails were made fresh in front of us and really tasty, and the bartender very knowledgeable and personable. Every single thing we ordered was awesome… From the best Caesar salad my daughter said she ever had, to the ravioli they made special for her, to the spicy chicken that was divine. For a special birthday treat they brought out something that was so decadent I don’t even know how to explain it except to say that it was like a chocolatey marshmallow a dream. We will come back again and again! ❤️
Our family of four had a very nice meal at Mama's Boy restaurant. Our waiter answered all of our questions regarding the menu which was in Italian. Thank you for a nice family dinner.
This was our first time here as we were looking for a diverse option. The service was good and everyone in the house is truly friendly. My wife had whitefish which was really fresh and tasty, I had the carbonara which was rich and incredible. The menu is pretty diverse, so it was hard to choose. I suppose we’ll need to return and try other options. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive.
We had one issue that had nothing to do with the food, or even the restaurant. The valet service left much to be desired, I had to find him when we arrived, and he was then no where to be found upon our departure. I only mention it due to the fact that the manger was embarrassed by it, and was awesome in trying to find the porter and get us on our way to our appointment. Thanks!
This was a very good and authentic Italian meal experience.
Really great food. Service is top notch! Have he meatball.
Hadn't been back in about 6 months, but we definitely wont stay away that long this time! We got the usual giant meatball on polenta, always to die for, but also tried a spicy cauliflower plate, lightly breaded, on the daily menu. I had eggplant parm, not your typical plate, it's like the entire eggplant in thick slices, perfectly light flour breading. Hubby had a cheese bowl risotto special, that said chicken, but it was more like a baked half Cornish hen on the top - such a beautiful presentation. I wish we took pics, but we were on a phone-free date! Along with phenomenal service, again, Steve picked a lovely bottle of Prisoner wine for us. He introduced us to Ashley, the queen of the kitchen, which we now know first hand to be true! And he so kindly treated us to cannelloni while we enjoyed taking our time to finish the bottle after dinner. Thanks again everyone at Mama's boy! See you soon!
Waited 30 plus minutes to sit down with a reservation. Disappointing. Food is not special. Basic Italian cuisine.
Absolutely fabulous food! We were shocked that we secured a reservation on short notice. Amazing gnocchi and Risotto!!!
I had a problem with my meal. It was handled professionally and with class. A+ management and service.
Great service, excellent food. The cauliflower appetiser was the BOMB.
This is a great, traditional Italian restaurant. Delicious food including desserts.
We enjoyed our meal so much, that the next night we went back to enjoy another outstanding meal with our sales staff.
I would highly recommend Mama's Boy to everyone. We are looking forward to going back
to Mama's Boy on our return to Chicago.
Good appetizer. Fish prepared well as were veggies. Potatoes (side) were not fully cooked nor browned. Service was spotty and got a “C” from us. Likely not a return when so many similarly priced restaurants are superior.
The server made excellent recommendations and they got everything done in enough time where we were not rushing to make our play. Very good southern Italian food. Reasonably priced. Very attentive service
What a wonderful experience! The food was amazing with all of those flavors balanced so perfectly.
Wonderful food and fun service. Great fresh made pasta and huge desserts. Ask for the "Wisconsin" latte.
I know that this address has a lot of turnover and caters to tourists and suburbanites. Definitely the best part about this restaurant was the genuinely kind and warm host staff.
We selected an interesting Super Tuscan which kept us delighted on our valentine’s date.
Unfortunately, the restaurant is crammed and the cozy red sofa simply takes up too much space. They seated us at a very uncomfortable table that was jostled by wait staff on numerous occasions; we nearly lost our bottle of wine!
Now the food: maybe the worst Caprese salad in the city that should have never been served given the nature of the tomatoes. The polenta/prawn was very rich and buttery, perhaps too decadent.
The plates barely fit the tiny table but I appreciate the large hot pasta bowls.
It took a particularly lengthy time for the table to get turned down but I was in too much of a good mood to mention it.
Ultimately, I’m fairly certain I will not be returning as there are a number of Italian restaurants in the city with better ambience and execution. We may return when It’s yet again a different restaurant. Sorry.
The service is outstanding. This is my third time at the restaurant and I have enjoyed all of my times at the restaurant. The food is great but what I really like about the restaurant is the excellent service from the second you walk in. I will go back every time I am in Chicago.
Very good food and service. Best happy hour in the city.
Went for lunch, place was beautiful but the service was okay. Felt off being there for lunch, place was dead and only one waitress. Seemed like dinner would have been a much different experience. Owner walked around and asked if we needed anything which was very nice. The waitress was not very helpful when asked for suggestions. Food was authentic Italian and ingredients were very fresh. Probably would not go back for lunch again, dinner we would try.
Eggplant salad so yummy!!! Food was super fresh and tasty.
