LOVE the food here. exxy, but worth it. Slow drinks service tends to let the place down. Would love to see Jim Barry Assyrtiko on the drinks list - or even some Retsina. Have been twice now and will return.

Wonderful food and ambience. Service could be more attentive - clear plates quicker, check on drink levels better. But as a past restauranter, that's a bug of mine and perhaps I'm a little picky with those two service requirements.

Excellent service. The food was overpriced for what we got. A small amount when sharing with a table. Should make servings applicable for number of people. Eg - 3 prawns good for 3 people. Not for 5.

Told the waitress that I was anaphylactic to nuts only to find almonds in the lamb. She apologised and offered me some hayfever medication (seriously????) and offered to discount the dish. $300 later we’ve paid for the most overpriced food that resulted in an allergic reaction. No wonder they’re going bankrupt…

I love Maman - the design of the place is cool. You feel like you’ve been transported to the Med. The food is clean, modern and simply delicious. The service is great but could be a little better in that they need to remember extra forks, spoons etc for shared serving but otherwise it’s a fantastic restaurant. They don’t rush you either.

Service was really poor, not attentive at all. We sat at the front and felt forgotten about. When the food came, we had 3 breads and one dip, obviously we needed guidance from our waitress which we did not receive. The pita bread was hard and stale for 8$? Would have been better from the grocery store. Food was way over priced. The drinks were good as was a few of the plates. Overall, just disappointed in the lack of attention and guidance given to us to help us understand the menu. The waitress was lovely and obviously busy but it was good enough for the price you pay to dine here.

The service was good and the decor is lovely. The first dish was decent but the mains weren’t great. We had the lamb tagine and it was too sweet. then we had the chicken and it was too tough or over cooked. There were only 2 other couples so it felt quite dead in there. if it was packed and the food was better we would go back.

Great dining spot in Burleigh Heads, lovely atmosphere and great food. Quite intimate, which did make it feel a bit busy/noisy at times but definitely recommend for a unique, delicious dinner on the GC.

Apart from the taramasalata, which was just tasteless, the rest of the food was very good. I wonder if the chef had actually tasted the taramasalata? It was very disappointing. The staff were excellent, very attentive.

We were disappointed with this place. Value for money was poor. We got some dips and flat bread to start with and the flat bread serving came with one piece of flatbread only. The dips at $10 each were such small servings that they were equivalent to about 3 tablespoons of dip. The tomato medley at $12 was a tiny bowl of cherry tomatoes of which half were a bit off - soft and squishy - so couldn’t eat them all. Main meals tasted good but all of them sat on lots of lettuce so there wasn’t a whole lot to eat once you removed the lettuce; for $30-40 for these small dishes, it felt overpriced. The service was a bit chaotic but didn’t impact our experience, the waiters were apologetic for the issues and we appreciated them. The food and portion sizes really let us down.

Really love Maman. This visit we tried the pita crisps with beetroot dip. and the delish tuna carpaccio. We were recommended to try the eggplant dip which my husband wasn't too keen on however the little tasting sample was demolished in a heartbeat so guess what's the go to next visit! The staff are lovely and happy to help, advise, and cater in any way they can. Since it was a bit cool we choose the lamb and date dish to share as well 1 as our favourites the moorish apple tarte. We sat in the outer area and I felt this visit we were a tiny bit forgotten as far as drinks went but I understand there was a brand new staff member on so we've all been there at some stage. The mamas cook with love and the food tells their story.
