Fun place for drinks and small plates to share. Pricey for small portion sizes.
Just know that this isn't going to be a fast meal. Service was exceptionally slow.
Everything was fabulous, tasty and fresh. Would just like restaurants to take steps to reduce the noise level with insulation or tiles. Group of 6 and we were shouting to one another
Amazing food. My absolute new favorite spot to eat in the city
Price to high lol
The food was very good it was somewhat crowded tables to close together and very noisy not a place to go if you want to talk once again five stars for the food excellent
Great from beginning to end. Food was fab and service was terrific.
Great food coupled with outstanding attentive service -- really fun evening with out of town friends
Tables too close, very loud, very expensive for small amounts of food. Upside was stellar service and great ambience other than noise levels. Food was well presented but average in taste.
The food was very good, however despite making a reservation in advance they did not have a table to accommodate our group. We unfortunately had to sit at a cramped table, and they were not veey accommodating.
Noisiest, most crowded restaurant in SF with only passable Mexican food. Relatively quick service so perhaps I would recommend it for an early and quick snack, but no lingering.
Great tacos. Interior is so loud that you really can't easily talk. Outside tables looked the best
Mexican not Tex-Mex and not your usual Mexican. Approaches foodie Mexican.
A bit loud but conversation is easy. Filled up by 7:30 on a weeknight. Usual SF parking problem.
Good stuff. Carnitas are perfect. A bit crispy but totally moist.
Always great food. The wind was excellent , and the service was impeccable.
Dined here with a group of 7 for my dad's birthday. We ordered just about every craft cocktail on their menu and loved all of them; special shout out to the cucumber gimlet and the jamaica sour. The food was excellent. We visit Padrecito a lot and there are some similarities, but Mamacita's menu offers great variety. We tried a bunch of different things across the menu. My personal favorites: Jicama salad, Rancheras, Carnitas tacos and the esquite.
Terrible appropriation of my culture. I have Never paid that much for three tacos and never will again. I've worked in the restaurant industry for almost a decade, left sincerely disappointed in the food.
Far better than expected! Our server was excellent which helped too. My friend order the chicken tortilla soup which was delicious although a bit too spicy for me. Wish they mentioned that on the menu. The Hickam a salad it was fantastic. Different than we thought it would be – like a chopped salad with delicious dressing. The shrimp tacos were amazing – two big shrimp on each taco with wonderful fruity salsa. Cocktails were fantastic. Didn't know how good this place was and we will definitely return !
Fantastic! Great margaritas, apps, service. Highly recommend.
We went just for drinks and appetizers. The guac was excellent along with the tamales we had. Refilling water could have been better. The plates are 20+ dollars so expect it to be closer to a $$.
Mamacita's is a terrific neighborhood find, great service, and delighfult flavors. The carnitas are crispy, tasty, and ample portions. Cannot go wrong with the huge variety of selections.
Upbeat enviroment and young scene. Food was fresh and tastfully prepared. The Margarita pricey and not up to speed what we expected for this tag. We had table in far back right by kitchen entrance, not ideal if you want to have a romantic conversation.
Waitress was little snippy as we did not order more than drinks and appetizers, still a $60 tab.
Local eatery and bar. It's delish every time! We come here when friends/ family are in town or just to grab really great Mexican food. Everything on the menu is great. I love the tacos and enchiladas.
Good drinks, good food, good service.
I traveled a long way for this restaurant to celebrate our anniversary, and it was disappointing. I had written on OpenTable that it was a special event, and they forgot. The manager, Luther, argued with me and blamed me for not telling them! The tables are so close to each other, that the couple to our right asked to be moved. The couple to our left put $3 on the table and left after being served water. I measured the distance; it's one full hand distance from table to table. We even felt that they were more interested in patrons leaving quickly to make room for other customers! It was awful!
I apologized to my wife for the restaurant. I had four other restaurants to pick from, and I chose poorly. Both of us left portions of food on our plates. I'm of Hispanic heritage and there are many taco trucks that do a much better job than Mamacita. The restaurant ended up putting a family with unruly kids next to us, and they kept drawing on the table with crayons and sneezing. I have kids and I'm very patient and I understand, but this restaurant represents itself as a higher caliber establishment for elegant dining. This is not a 4 or 5-star restaurant. That is deceiving.
Great Resto, great food and incredible margs. Great place to meet up with friends :)
Amazing. My favorite restaurant in San Francisco, hands down. Chilaquiles.
Awesome service awesome food the micheladas were great tacos were great guacamole and chips were so delicious customer service was awesome
Would be better if you could order a variety of tacos rather than get 3 of one kind. The beauty of the taco's bite-size ness is to be able to sample a variety.
A great new interpretation of Mexican cooking with a very good wine selection and exceptional competent and attentive service.
We were a group of 4 from out of town in San Fran for a Conference. Mamacita was recommended by a local. We loved it! We happen to be there during happy hour and let me tell you, best happy hour EVER! Full portions for a fraction of the price. The food was excellent, we share a punch of taco's and one was even better than the next. I can't pick a favorite because they were all outstanding!
