   We arrived around 830 (one of the last seatings) and had a really nice time at Mama Shelter. Beautiful decor in the downstairs area, good food and drinks. Service was a little slow in checking in with us if we needed additional drinks (maybe because they were just trying to close up things) but other than that the food came out super fast and was really good!

   Excellent restaurant! We dined on the rib special and the polenta gnocchi. It was delicious and the perfect amount of food. I especially loved the wine by the glass selection that had great variety. Most of all, the service was superb. From the friendly hostess who seated us to our amazing server and the runners who helped out through the night, this restaurant clearly knows what it’s doing. Can’t wait to return!

   First time eating at Mama Shelter, our server Ricky was very accommodating. Also he gave me the heads up that everything on the menu was served family style which really helped in choosing our dishes. Great environment, overall staff was great and the rooftop was the cherry on top. I've been to Mama Shelter before, but it had been sometime. Will definitely come back!!

   It took 15 to 20 min to get greeted by a server. I had to ask two people to send someone over… ordered bottomless mimosas to only be filled up once in a span of an hour and 30 min. The food was average. &I was still hungry when I left. I don’t recommend.

   Our waitress was very pleasant, excellent service. I ordered the fried chicken it was amazing, our waitress highly recommended it and I took her up on her recommendation. Afterwards we went up to the rooftop bar, great views and really happening.

    Came here for brunch based on the brunch menu online. They weren’t using the online menu but had a completely different menu. It took about 8 minutes for the hostess to return to the hostess bay to seat us, and then 7 minutes to get a cocktail menu. The watermelon/mezcal cocktail was neither balanced nor tasty. We had to send it back. The food was aight. It was disappointing.

    Staff was extremely courteous and very friendly. Our waiter made the best food recommendations. Ambiance was great. Rooftop was a good vibe also. Would definitely recommend as well as go back again.

    Overall a great experience. The food was delicious. We went on a Saturday night. Which is is nice. But, the music got a little too loud as the night went on. Our waitress was fantastic. The grilled asparagus was quite delicious! The only negative aspect of the evening was the host took his time acknowledging our presence when we arrived.

    My friends came to visit from WA and i took them to Mama Shelter’s. Out reservation was at 7 but we also wanted to check out the roof top. We got there early and had the time of our lives! The bar manager was sooo sweet and the staff was spectacular! The food was on point and the drinks were strong. Brian (i hope that was his name), the bar manager, even made a special virgin drink for my bestie who doesn’t drink. 10/10 experience. Thank you for everything!

    This was the worst dining experience we have ever had… the waiter knew absolutely nothing about anything on the brunch menu (there’s only 8 items on the entire menu), he forgot our drinks and one of our entrees (and never remembered it we had to ask him to take it off the bill), he told us the burger came with fries but came with a salad, i asked him how the eggs came on the breakfast sandwich and he said “honestly i have no idea”, i asked him what pastries they had and he stared at them for a few seconds and said “they’re right there but i don’t know what they are”. We literally thought we were being punked…. Will not be visiting again.

    Food is horrible. Go to mcdonalds instead. You cant order sides. Salad is just lettuce with olive oil. Tuna tartar doesn't come with anything to eat it with. Tons of better places around.

    Ordered salad, app, and meals and they all came out basically at once. So while we’re having salad our mains were getting cold. I told them to slow it down but food kept coming out. And then my waitress stopped talking to me until she bought out the bill. They automatically added 18% tip which I don’t think they deserved this time. Food itself was pretty good. Just a weird service experience.

    The waiters and hostess were so nice down stairs but the manager or whoever was running things was very cold and mean and it was my friends bday. The food had no vegan options besides a salad.

    The wait staff was amazing and very informative about the food, Stephanie was awesome and also a gentlemen cleaning the tables answers my questions about the wonderful table side bread. We were on an anniversary date and got sited at naturally a table of two, which was a row of table of twos... by the front door .... next to the hostess stand. I could with minimal effort reach out and drink the girls drink that was next to me. Not COVID concerns for me but it was a little too tight for any circumstance even twenty years ago. My boyfriend and I didn't really talk because both tables on either side of us were talking, it was too much. Music was loud and bumping at 7PM. Seriously don't get me wrong it's a great night life vibe but I felt sandwiched in and for about 200.00 in a very fast to your table 40 min experience, I would expect a little distance from your "neighbors". The menu, our dishes were very rich but thoughtful and nice combinations. very through in cleaning down the tables and prepping for the next guest. They were very efficient. So if you are looking to wrap up dinner in 40 minutes with only time to order one drink per person, no concerns to closeness, it's a cute place.

    Great food and excellent service. It was a nice quiet Friday night, so the four of us got to talk without screaming over the crowd noise. The music is a little "hip hop" for a dinner crowd.

    One of the individuals dining has a dairy allergy. We checked the menu online ahead of time to make sure there were options available. However, when we got there, there was a completely different menu, which they said was in use for a few weeks now. For this new menu, there were only 2-4 options on the entire menu that could be done dairy free. While the waiter was very accommodating (we loved him), this was still a huge disappointment. We really like to have options to choose from. The food we did order though was great but we were looking forward to what was posted online. On a separate note, no one was at the check in station when we arrived. We had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated (even though we had a reservation for right when they opened for dinner), and they did not check us in for the open table reservation.

    We came here before our show. What a beautiful ambiance! Love the color and lighting! The food was excellent. We had tuna tartar, roasted Brussel sprouts with an avocado sauce, and the beet salad! Perfect amount for 2 people and so fresh! The service was impeccable! I say Yes!

    Loved this rooftop. The cocktails were truly the highlight here. We had friends from out of town and they wanted to have that LA experience and they definitely did here. It was super busy because it was Super Bowl weekend but we still got in and had a nice table

    Service was stellar but 18% gratuity plus 3-4% health fee added to bill for 3 people wasn't. Spent over $200 then wanted to enjoy a drink upstairs but was shocked at having to wait 30min so we didn't. Food was unique and really good, but just be aware the menu rotates and the upstairs menu is different from downstairs. Over all it was a good experience just overpriced and we were disappointed not to get access to the roof after dinner.

    The entire place had great service! There were three of us and 2 of the 3 meals were good. My Swordfish was too dry and overcooked. The server did ask how our meals were and I was reluctant to say anything because I'm not a complainer but I did end up saying anything. I was a little disappointed nobody came to talk to me or ask if I wanted anything else. I didn't ask them to take if off the check but again, I was a little disappointed they didn't. It was obvious I didn't eat much. I didn't say anything, I just paid. Probably won't go back, unfortunately. I really wanted to like this place.

    We made 5:30 reservations on dec 23, and when we got there, they said their restaurant was closed until dec 27. We drove over an hour and a half in the rain from oc to eat here. We were extremely disappointed. Not sure if that was an open table mistake or the restaurant.
