   We had a wonderful time at Mama Shelter! The food was as delicious as the atmosphere was fun!! Highly recommend!! This will be marked as one of our favorite places to dine at either before or after seeing a performance at The Pantages

   First time customer - food was fantastic! Large portions - so you should share. Service was excellent and the decor is very cool. Can’t wait to go back when we can sit up on the rooftop.

    We tried downstairs restaurant. Music volume was super high and we were barely hearing each other. We decided to move corner table for quieter spot but we had to sit next to boxes and staff were sitting and chatting near us. We ate quickly and decided to check upstairs for drinks. Even though it was late and many tables were empty a server told us that we can not sit unless we order food. There weren’t any spot at bar and we didn’t wanna lie down on mattresses and we left. We tried Dream Hotel roof top it was great. Besides that restaurant server was very friendly. She always wanted make sure if everything was okay. Food also was good.

    EXTREMELY LOUD, POOR SERVICE, NOT WORTH THE MONEY... From the moment we walked in our service was poor. We waited in line to check in only to have the greeter take someone pushy who just walked in the door. We had a reservation for four, confirmed at check in that we have a reservation for four but she took us to our table with only three menus. The same person came back with water and proceeded to spill it all our two of the three menus on the table, not offering to help clean it up or returning. Our server didn't offer to explain the menu, wasn't aware of what specialty cocktails or beers that were listed we out of stock. Had no recommendations for the menu, and constantly returned to the table to try and remove our appetizers because "main were almost ready". She didn't one time come back to check on the food, or refill water, or ask if we wanted another drink. Food was just okay, chicken was over cooked, the burger was DRIPPING with grease, and the pasta was far from al dente. NOT WORTH THE MONEY there is much better in the area.

    The waiter stole my sunglasses for 700$. Never come again. Already checked with lost and found they don’t have them.

    Not sure if it’s because it’s a hotel or what… but 49.00 for a hamburger is straight extortion. Call it a “wagyu melt” to make yourselves feel better. It’s a hamburger. 28.00 for roasted cauliflower. Nope. Never again.

    I arrived at the place and waited in line for 10 minutes. There was nobody to greet guests and everyone in line had reservations. They were 2 servers down, or so we were told. The service was awful. The food order was wrong and the food wasn't anything to write home about. I had to practically scream to hear over the music. I decided to eat here because it was reviewed by google as one of the top 10 places for brunch in the Hollywood area. Unless your in your 20s, or enjoy "trendy" spots where quality is not their forte, I would look elsewhere for a decent Brunch experience. The entire experience felt like I was at a glorified Denny's.

    The food was okay, not great. The selection was limited. The prices were high for mediocre food. I wouldn't consider it somewhere I feel I need to go back to. The ambiance was cool but the booths with the blankets look REALLY dirty. Two different staff members spilled water on the tables and one patron. I thought that was odd. They charge 18% gratuity automatically for only 4 people, which was also odd. We ordered the breakfast burritos, french toast and the Huevos Rancheros. All was kind of bland. Staff was friendly, which was nice. All in all it was a nice experience but wouldn't return for the price or the flavor.

    Mama Shelter is a very nice hotel with fun bars, downstairs and rooftop. Spend your money there. The downstairs restaurant featured good service but very ordinary food for very high prices. Wife struggled to find the lobster in her lobster pasta dish, she wasn’t concerned about the small portion because we’re not big eaters. Others might complain. My wagyu patty melt ($36) ordered medium was basically raw and didn’t taste any better than grocery store burger. The house made potato chips were the highlight.

    Service was terribly slow. Drip coffee had coffee grounds floating at the top of the cup. Other tables that arrived after ours received their food before us. Food was not impressive.

    From reservation to arriving early was met with extraordinary service experience. While my salmon meal was good, the salmon did have a day to two day best by date. I ate every bite and loved the crispy skin. In the future, I hope that the waitress could disclose when the salmon was purchased so customers can make a different decision. My husband’s meal roasted half chicken was also excellent according to him. He actually referred to it as a 1/4 chicken. He was missing a thigh. Lol. Lol. We also had the Butter Cake. Exquisite. The cocktail was not worth the empty glass, but loved the candy covered ginger. The rosemary and garlic rolls were my favorite too. If I would change one thing out it would be the upholstery fabric seating. It looked and felt dirty. This could easily be an investment to install colorful leather seating. I had a sweater so I sat on it. I didn’t even want to touch it. This is a great dining experience, just some small fixes and investments would put this place as a must experience. I also loved that the gratuity was included with our order. I’ll be back, but it may be a minute.

    This is a very fun place and our food was delicious. The service could have been a lot better. The host took a phone call instead of seating us. The server came right away but then took close to 10 minutes before returning. We ordered our drinks and entrees all together because we were afraid he wasn't coming back. Lots of wait staff just standing around. The food was delicious and reasonably priced.

    Drinks were good and most of the food was good as well. Fries were great. Chicken wasn’t our favorite. They were deep fried chicken wings with too much sauce. Just expected something different. Staff was friendly.

    The staff was unfortunately running around and didn’t have enough people working.After an angry customer threw down a glass and purposely shattered it and one of the pieces flew up and hit my brother, the staff tried to be as accommodating as possible but it was not a great experience over all

    Food and drinks were very good in the restaurant but service timing was off. We ordered a set of appetizers and received no plates. Appetizers cooled before plates arrived. Entres were again very good. Ordered deserts to share and again no plates. Had drinks on the rooftop, fun atmosphere and service was attentive.

    This was the first time we ate here and we loved it. The ambiance was hip and cool, the service was great and the food was amazing. We shared two starters, Peaches and Cream and Asparagus and then each had the scallops starter. I’m glad we didn’t share that dish as I ate every last bit. Then we shared the Chocolate Budino. Everything tasted great and we will definitely be back

    A wonderful hidden gem in Hollywood very deserving of at least a first visit which will turn into a second very quickly! My first visit on a Thursday soon brought me back on Monday to introduce my significant other! Both visits were simply delicious, from Salmon Salad to Shrimp Sandwhich the food presentation and taste was on point, the salad has rich greens with a perfectly prepared salmon! The shrimp sandwhich was so tender and sweet with just enough sauce and tomato to shrimp ratio, and the home made milk bread bun was outstanding! Everyone working in this place was beyond kind and engaging, very helpful and yet gave us plenty of room for conversation with our meal. Have only visited for lunch so far, will be making plans for dinner. The restaurant is attached to a hotel, must be a huge hit with hotel guests, such good food and great environment. We stopped upstairs to check out the rooftop, that might be a next meal location with remarkable views of LA/Hollywood! Just do it, a wonderful and talented staff with great food!

    I have to say Mama Shelter is a fabulous place to go to, the food wow it’s good, not overly done and not too much that you can’t finish your meal, perfectly just enough. The one thing that stands out the most is they are very accommodating and understanding. I was very late for my reservation due to traffic and stress closures. Yet they seated my guest without me being there. They even told me how to get to the restaurant. Super service and very accommodating people, what else can I say.

    Everything from the drinks and food to the service and hospitality were on point. Must have the tuna carpaccio- it was perfection!! I would have ordered 3 if I knew it how good it was. Their housemade bread was the best also- melts In your mouth. Compliments to their chef for putting together a great menu ❤️
