   Honestly, I felt disappointed with my experience. It stated online that there was going to be Mariachi up until 9:45pm. We made reservations for 10 people at 8:30pm we did not get seated until aprox 8:50pm. Our whole party was on time. Early even. The server Javier was nice, he was just a little awkward (couldn’t really hear what he asked us, would ask him to repeat himself), could be his first day working there (so we cut him some slack). But, no one in my party was satisfied with their food. The only good food was the agua chiles verde. Also, they don’t enforce the dress code. I thought this was gonna be a fun and exciting experience for my mom. It just turned out to be average. So, my two cents, don’t waste your time coming here. We should’ve asked for a refund.

   Coming with a party of 12 and having only one waiter was something they need to work on . Appetizer plates or menus were never picked up , order was taken 45 minutes into sitting down . Not by choice. We asked many times for refills of WATER and had to wait way too long . Being a higher end restaurant this is a disappointment especially on mother’s day. The LA location was a great experience which is why I chose here but here I would never come back. The waiter was more set on letting us know our time to eat was up but forgot to know he just gave our last plate 10 minutes before asking. Very disappointing spending 1k on dinner.

   Don't go on a holiday. THey were disorganized, took too many reservations for Mother's day. Our 1:30pm reservation had us sitting down at 2:45pm, missing the brunch menu. THey were overwhelmed, not enough bartenders. Drinks took longer than the appetizers to come out. BUT, the food is AMAZING! Very unique, down to the plates etc the details are well thought out. Will go back again, but NEVER on a specail day.

   We had a 12:15 reservation. I showed up at noon. They so overbooked themselves that we waited two hours to be seated. We were the last group to be allowed to order brunch. Had they not allowed us to order brunch? It would’ve been a 45 minute wait to get food because they had to change the kitchen over to the dinner menu. The tables next to us were only given the opportunity to order appetizers until the kitchen switched over. There was only three of us and we agreed if by 2 PM we had not been placed at a table. We were going to cancel the reservation and leave. I witnessed other people being seated that came in after us and it was probably because they’ve been waiting too long as well and it gone to the manager. Me being polite I just kept waiting until I couldn’t handle it anymore. Not sure if I would ever go back there because of that experience.

   I honestly don’t understand the point of having a reservation if it means nothing. I had a reservation for 9 PM, but still had to wait over an hour just to be seated. After finally getting a table, it took nearly another hour for the food to arrive. Meanwhile, if I hadn’t shown up, I would’ve been charged a fee. It feels completely unfair and one-sided. The whole experience was frustrating and not worth the hassle. I won’t be returning.

   Disappointed Birthday Dinner at Mama Por Dios We made an 8:30 PM reservation to celebrate my birthday, but unfortunately, the experience fell far short of expectations. Despite arriving on time, we weren't seated until nearly 9 PM. Even worse, we didn’t receive our food until 10 PM. It left us wondering—what’s the point of making a reservation if you still have to wait that long? We specifically chose Mama Por Dios for the atmosphere and the octopus dish, which was good. However, the rest of the experience was lacking. Service was chaotic and disorganized from the hosts to the servers. It felt like no one knew what was going on. The ceviche was underwhelming—especially at $20 for three crackers. Definitely not worth it. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place for a special occasion or group celebration. The ambiance may be nice, but the poor service and long wait times made it a frustrating experience. I won’t be returning.

   Made a reservation for 7:15 and didnt get seated til 8:02. Whats the point in having a reservation? The waiter i had made up for the wait. She was very attentive, patient, and on top of her game. Jess P. Awesome service!

   The place took 2hrs to get our food, not only that but when I reserved days agooo they made me and my partner sit outside in the patio …. What’s the point of reserving a table when they are gonna make us sit where all the walk ins get taken .

    Terrible Experience – Avoid at All Costs Our visit to Mama Por Dios in Rancho was a disaster from start to finish. We were a group of three, and one of the servers spilled a drink across our table, soaking my mother’s phone, glasses, and clothing — everything was sticky and uncomfortable. Worse, glass shards ended up on our plates. It was shocking how poorly the situation was handled. The food was bland and ridiculously overpriced. They also sneak in a credit card surcharge — a clear nickel-and-dime tactic. Our server, Julian, initially said he would take care of our drinks to make up for the spill, but only removed the one that was spilled. If I had known that, we wouldn’t have stayed. When I raised the issue with the manager, Alondra Pina, and suggested the least they could do was comp our three drinks, she refused. I informed her I would be sending them the bill for a new phone and dry cleaning — she said that would be fine. So now, I’ll likely have to pursue it in small claims court, since I highly doubt they’ll take responsibility. The negative reviews are absolutely right — the music is deafening, and the whole place feels like it was designed for Instagram photos, not quality food or service. Save yourself the time, money, and frustration. We won’t be back.
