From intimate date nights to private group functions, Mama Mulan will welcome you with her style, warmth and character, creating an unforgettable dining experience.
Very expensive, food was average and not enough of it, 1 scallop each, 1 spring roll 1 dumpling etc 4 adults 2 small children $445
Crab was awesome! the truffle didnt do well on the siumai it was good on its own.. the downside was the hedgehog custard it was only appealing
Every dish satisfies the craving! (See photo descriptions)
Our only issue was they do not have timber chopsticks and had to use the regular slippery plastic chopsticks and spoon/fork.
Special thank you to David at the front desk for organising the birthday treat for my daughter.
Fantastic service and explained well the popular dishes. Highlight was the lamb ribs, the dim sum platter was very good too. Serving portions were generous. Will be back
Great for a family dinner over the Chinese New Year festive season.
minimum consume $1000 per room, crazy, only few waitress to serve you. the taste of the seafood is bad, the fish is over steam cooked, and the lobster is too sweat.
The food is very good but a bit pricey.
The staff are very nice but they must keep looking at tables too ee if anyone needs service.
Food was pretty good.
Service was a bit slow. Seems like the kitchen wanted to send out a dish at a time.
Food were less qualified than usual. We ordered fried pork rib and a sort of fried lamb cutlets, felt a little disappointed as we they were all too fat, causing us sick after. Dumpling platter is fabulous.
The vibe and services are great but the food is a little bit sweet for me. Overall, it's a nice place to enjoy some chinese fusion with friends.
Loved the ambience and the food was delicious, definitely coming back again.
Faultless food, service and ambiance- this is the reason keep coming back.
Great Food and Good Service We had a table booked for 7 for Sunday lunch. Service was fast and friendly.
The food and drinks were excellent, however the service was lacking. It took ages for a waiter to come and ask if we were ready to order and once the food was served no one came to check if we were enjoying the food or if we needed anything else. There was hardly anyone else in the restaurant by the time we asked for the bill and it still took almost 10 minutes for someone to come and process payment (we had to flag them down). I would still come back because I was happy with the food, but hopefully next time the service is better.
Food was ok, not original flavours but done nicely. Seems to be trying to jump on the trendy Asian fusion food scene. Wait staff were good, polite and attentive. Food service was odd, a lot of things at once or long wait, however presentation was lovely. Good to try but unsure we'd return.
Don’t like the fish ...... too old and doesn’t taste like live fish but charge $138/kg... doesn’t like black pepper wagyu too much black pepper and too salty .... red bean cake very very yummy , scallops with sort of grass thing very yummy .. dim sim very yummy ..
Always a good experience. Shame they don’t do the handmade noodles anymore.
Fabulous as always - customer service is amazing
Good food but mediocre service which the manager subsequently apologized for
We had an amazing night. The food was spectacular, service excellent and I would recommend this place to anyone. Brilliant experience.
Excellent service - our waiter gave us a champagne , on the house , to celebrate our 59th wedding anniversary.
Very good experience. Food are made with elaborate material and creativity.
Mama Mulan is a great place to eat. The restaurant is beautiful and very classy. The food is delicious- the best Chinese I’ve tried! Would have given full marks but for the service. I’ve been quite a number of times now and it’s always really difficult to flag someone down when you need them!
Great restaurant with well spaced tables and very tasty food.
A great new premium asian restaurant in Chatswood! We had the crab and it was perfectly cooked!
Food was nice but bit expensive especially for dumplings
Will recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves Chinese food with a twist in a non traditional Chinese restaurant setting with adequate yet attentive service.
Staff @ Mama Mulan were very attentive, friendly & courteous. They looked after us very well.
The food (especially the fried rice) was authentic & delicious.
Not nearly good enough for the prices they charge. Food was ok but nothing special.
A very disappointing experience with food that was barely edible. We selected a range of dishes but overall the calamari was tough and tasteless, the pot stickers filled with tasteless imported prawns and the duck pancakes, while the best of the three dishes, lacked taste and presentation.
Overall a terrible experience food wise.
This is a real gem, beautifully presented clean and light. The food is delicious, and the service is attentive without being overbearing. My only comment would be to add some more spicy dishes to the menu. It’s a great spot for a working lunch or a date.
All meals we ordered are very tasty, service is excellent.
Just a bit noisy as a group people sit next to our table are loud.
This is a newer restaurant on the scene but quickly gaining popularity. The menu is relatively uncluttered but offers some interesting variations on a Chinese theme with a more modern approach. Worth the visit.
Love the vibes and decor of the restaurant. The cocktails were absolutely stunning and we all ordered another round! The food wasn’t as spectacular as I had hoped. The sweet and sour pork was extremely chewy and lacklustre. The dumplings were pretty nice though and I enjoyed the sides. Our salted caramel deep fried ice cream dessert was pretty nice too. Overall not a bad experience and I may go again if I am in the area.
Great restaurant! Great Food! Great services! Will visit next time.
Went to Mama Mulan for a birthday dinner on a Friday evening. The place was buzzing with people so, prior reservation would be a good idea on Fridays/ weekends. Food was excellent on taste, quantity and spice levels though the show stopper for the evening was their signature cocktail - Mama Mulan!! Staff was courteous, was pretty patient as we took few minutes to decide on where to sit (inside gets noisy if you are there for an intimate dinner). Over all nice experience!
This is my second visit to Mama Mulan. My first visit was amazing food and service was excellent. The second time round was awful, it was my mum’s birthday, service was poor and we got desserts for her which they just plopped on our table in its bag and did not provide plates or cutlery. They rushed to remove the plates despite us not having finished eating. Very disappointed
Service staff need some fine-tuning - they accidentally poured water into my gin & tonic (but replaced it), no chopsticks set on the table before our food arrived, waiter leaned across us to clear our plates. However, the food was delicious - Chinese with a modern and interesting twist. Beautiful fit-out and the maitre de was so friendly and delightful - a real pleasure to deal with.
Great twist to Asian cuisine. Something for the younger folk.
We were returning to this restaurant as the first time we had eaten here proved to be a pleasant experience which we commended to friends. So this time we booked for six on a Thursday evening. Specifically requested a balcony table. Three emails sent to me reminding me of the booking. Arrived to find the balcony closed. Maitre'd said it was closed as 'they were very busy', a pathetic excuse for any restaurant. At no time was it mentioned in any of the myriad emails that the balcony was closed. Instead of a relaxing time on the balcony then, we were ushered to a table in a corner and spent the whole night trying to hear each other over the excessive din and noise level. Had to ask to have the chairs at the table changed as they were so uncomfortable. Service was very inconsistent at best and the $59.00 'banquet' was hardly good value. And the whole experience cost us approximately $550.00. Not good enough and we will not be returning.
