Crispy calamari served with a spicy tomato sauce and paprika aioli
Hand-breaded & lightly fried & served with a spicy tomato-basil sauce & smoked paprika aioli
Butternut Squash Ravs were sitting in oil. She may not have read the entree correctly, but kind of gross.
Excellent service. The food quality was a solid 4 stars.
Mama Mia was a wonderful experience when you consider it is located in downtown Portland...we felt safe (it was still daylight)...the restaraunt has done a nice job of adapting to covid restrictions...always loved the ambience but based on the restrictions it is a little less...not the restaraunt's fault though! Prices seemed to have gone up a little but I am sure that is covid related also. So any somewhat negative feedback is directed at our Governor and not the restaraunt. Highly encourage a visit to Mam Mia...
Nothing about my first experience at this restaurant could have been better. An amazingly extensive menu. The food was fantastic and seemed very authentic. I can’t wait to go back.
The food was fine, but it was better before the shutdowns. Overpriced for the quality, in my opinion. It also felt very empty! I understand social distancing and whatnot, however, it was semi-depressing there. Maybe because of the dark decor inside. Anyway, I would not choose to go back myself; I'd go with a friend if they insisted.
Food and service were excellent. Partner had a great gluten free pasta which is hard to find.
The staff was good the vibe was good the food was fantastic can’t wait to go back!
This place has become the favorite of mine and my wife. We dont get into Portland much but will make a special trip to eat here.
Delish and great service!
As always great food and service. Their gluten free pasta was excellent! It tasted fresh, and had a great texture. It wasn’t that old, crumbly gluten free pasta you can sometimes get at other places.
Food was amazing and tasted very authentic. Service was great except my mozzarella board was mistaken for fried mozzarella Everything was great but the floors and tables were a bit musky and could use a thorough cleaning, otherwise it was fantastic.
The food and service were good. It is especially family friendly. We had a very nice bottle of wine.
Food & service was good. Ambience was a good. A little spacious/empty, but it's limited seating because of COVID.
Great place. They did a very nice job of adapting for the pandemic. Good food overall.
Excellent service with helpful staff, everything was super fast & neat. Italian bread was yummy, and Fried Calamari was a good choice among starters. Classic Beef Lasagna and Tiramisu were both extremely large and tasty! Expect Italian goodies with American-size/large portions and order accordingly. Definitely great value with reasonable prices.
Even with few people in there, is a bit loud, but over all excellent place!! Highly recommend
My partner and I always saw this restaurant when crossing the Morisson Bridge and had wanted to check it out. I am so glad we did, it is now one of my favorite restaurants in Downtown Portland! The food was excellent, the environment is lovely, and the staff are so kind! :) The pomodoro sauce was delicious and so fresh! We will definitely be eating there again!
We have eaten here many times. Always get the best food and service.
Excellent food! Restaurant and waitress were operating in a very Covid-careful mode.
The garlic bread is deliciously garilcy and buttery. The pasta was perfect. It tasted made fresh and was cooked just right. The tables were far apart, so it felt safe to dine in. The service was great.
Terrific, authentic italian dinner. Tables were well spaced out and service was excellent.
The food was absolutely fantastic!! But it was too bright. Kinda felt like dining in a rite aid. It’s such a sexy space that it just needs the lights lowered. Thank you so much for everything!
This place is much quieter with more than half of the tables removed. I felt bad for the waitstaff- capacity limits are really hurting their income.
Food was over priced. Was not very good. The best thing we are was the fried zucchini.
This was our first time. COVID obviously made the dining experience less intimate and enjoyable. Wait staff was nice; but very slow considering only 8 tables being serviced. The Ceasar salad was subpar at best, presentation nice. Minestrone soup not very tasty and served Luke warm. The entrees were good; but a bit pricey considering. The Bolognese sauce was tasty; but a little on the chunky side which wasn’t my favorite thing; but the pasta portion was hefty. Chicken Marsala was tasty but small portion and no vegetable side. Chicken Parmesan was also tasty with a side of pasta. Kids pizza portioned nicely for a kids meal. I am not sure if I’d go back or not. Although it was an “ok” dining experience, I have had better.
Amazing old school classic Italian!
What an awesome experience! Great service, great food, would recommend! Have the tiramisu!!
Great night out with my wife and two kids. Waitress took excellent care of us. Food was tasty and also hot. Salads were crisp and chilled. Waitress even brought us a slice of cheesecake to share. It was the best “restaurant” cheesecake I have had. Overall excellent experience.
Food was just not tasty. I know they’re trying
G but from beginning to end - the bread, the clams, the fettuccini, spaghetti meatballs and chicken were just “off.”
Wonderful service and wonderful food!
Everything was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal.
Great food and service I would say the man who helped us was kind and friendly
The atmosphere was perfect and overall everything was excellent
The food was very good. Tables were spaced safely. The place used to have heavy curtains which added to the ambiance. Our waitress was very pleasant and attentive. Cheesecake desert was amazing. Thanks for a wonderful anniversary dinner !
Out for dinner during our vacation to Portland. My kids wanted Italian and this place was highly rated so we made a reservation. I’m so glad we did! Service was amazing. Food was delicious, cocktails were great and the wine list was fantastic. My kids loved their pasta. The Brussels sprouts starter was so good but we could only get thru half. It could easily feed a family of 6! I had the lasagna which was delicious but the portion was also huge! I wanted to take it home but we were in a hotel so sadly that was not an option. My mother had the fettuccine Alfredo which she loved. She also had the hazelnut cheesecake for dessert which was amazing (I had to taste it!). Highly recommend this restaurant! My kids kept asking if we could go back which says a lot because they are so picky
The food was not enjoyable. It was not the quality that I would expect from an Italian restaurant. However, the wait staff was very friendly.
We were in town for a ladies-only wine tasting weekend. We were hoping to find good food and good wine in a place we could raise a few glasses in celebration. Instead, we found excellent food and exceptional wine served by a very caring and conscientious staff! Many glasses were raised! Bravo!
**visit was 10/9/20 for dinner.
Server did not want to chat and was very transactional. Food was not the greatest for the price we paid. Wasn’t the right setting for date night. Personally was not the best experience.
Great staff and wonderful food. They didn’t rush us and spaced out our food perfectly. Definitely recommend
We loved our server, were welcomed warmly. Food was great. The social distancing of tables was quite extreme and it felt very, very empty in there even though every table was full.
