They call themselves an Italian Restaurant. There is NO veal parm on the menu. You could order a chop, but I didn't want that. What Italian restaurant doesn't serve veal parm cutlet? None that I know of.
Terrible! I would not recommend going here. It used to be very good but has gone way down hill! The waitress was very sweet and nice but food And ambiance was horrific!
I have been going here for 30 years or more . I decided to go with my family for My Moms Birthday. Great place. Love it
As vacationing visitors in the South Florida area, we rely on Open Table and other similar sites for restaurant recommendations. Mama Mia caught my attention and we decided to give it a try and were not disappointed. Great Italian dishes at a fair price. Very attentive waiter, although he didn't have much choice. We arrived early and were the only diners in a spacious establishment.
The old Hollywood Mama Mia’s has gotten a new look and a new owner. The food was delicious but the server we had that evening was nice but inexperienced. Additionally, there were very few tables at the time but one was a large party. The kitchen could not handle it and we waited exactly one hour for our meals. No one on the staff had the sense to send something to the table but the server did repeatedly tell us that he was sorry but the kitchen was backed up. The pizza was good as were the pastas. The salmon was excellent. Dessert was good but nothing exceptional
Waiting time and services were very bad. We were waiting for more than 64 minutes for the food.
Music way to loud and waiter “confused”!
Food was just okay! We knew something was wrong when there were ONLY three tables of people eating there at 6:30 on a Friday night!!!
Terrible service had to leave to put more $ in meter food took 1 1/2 hour for spagetti & meatballs took 25 min after bringing food to get grated cheese & bread by then almost done eating overated & expensive will never return!
Service was great, the staff was so attentive and welcoming. Food was delicious!
Thank you so much hope to see you again soon
Server said she was new and didn’t have any training. While this may have been true, there are certain things that you shouldn’t need training on like noticing glasses are empty and need refilled or once you have finished eating and you’re a member of the clean plate club, those dirty dishes need taken away to maybe serve dessert. By the time we got to dessert, all six people in our party just wanted to leave.
Dear Clay, You are absolutely right and i do apologize for this , hope to see you soon again and promise to improve the service Best regards
All you can eat lobster now at 65$ per personn.....
Restaurant was full a month ago at 50$, and almost empty this time.
Clam showder: without clam!! But broth was good
Lobster: unfrozen but good
Too extenpensive for what we got!
Dear Mel, Sorry you had not the best experience, regarding our price we have to align ourselves with market price , Lobster, specially fresh , is an expensive dish we always try to get the best prices for our customers, in Miami area you would pay more than 110 dollars for all you can eat , 65 is not that bad hope to see you again soon
One of our party’s meal was cold; probably waiting for pizza to be done.
Hi, sorry you were not completely satisfied We always try to do our best to serve our guests quickly but our Pizza are made to order and need a certain time to cook my sincere apology your server should have mentioned that to you hope to see you soon regards
What a wonderful dinner and dining experience.
Thank you so much Dianne hope to see you soon
Been going to this restaurant for 20 years. Love the Food and I love the new decor Will be going back when I am down in Florida next. !
Dan was an awesome waiter and the bartender and host were awesome too had a wonderful time lobster night was great
We've been to Mama Mia's many times over the past 14 years. The food is usually good, however the service is consistently terrible. We like drawn butter with our lobster. To have a lobster served when you have no drawn butter is not what we expect. When you eventually get some drawn butter, it should not be cold, as it was on our recent visit.
Because the service is so bad, it really ruins the meal. We will not return to Mama Mia's.
Dear Barry, thanks for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry your experience didn’t match your expectations. It was an uncommon instance and we’ll do better. Please feel free reach out to 954 923 0555 with any further comments, concerns, or suggestions you wish to share. We would love to make things right if you give us another chance. Thanks
Worst eggplant parmesan ever!!! Tastes like a soggy sponge. There were four of us. They didn’t bring my meal. I had to reorder. They forgot about our two salads that were ordered, also. Not a good experience!!
Dear Lauren, thanks for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry your experience didn’t match your expectations. It was an uncommon instance and we’ll do better. The quality of the food could have been better , the corn was old.
No lunch menu despite it being listed online. No sandwiches, no wraps, no burgers. Food was cold and way over salted. Poor service. I wouldn’t go back and I wouldn’t recommend. New owners are not ready. Our table was sloped toward the window as if we were on a listing boat. Interior paint job was amateur and highlighted structural issues. Our meals were not worth the price. If I had known there was no lunch menu I would have gone to ANY other restaurant in town. Lunch for two was $55 - a complete rip off. No apps, soups, or dessert - just two entrees and iced tea.
Lobster Wednesday is a blast. The food is good and all the diners have bibs. Expect to spend a couple of hours there if you want to eat at least 4 lobsters as they take some time to come out
Sauce sans goût pas de personnalité pâte trop cuite
Great food. Lobster Wednesday’s is spectacular. All you can eat lobsters.
Amazing food and service will come back
Had a wonderful night at the restaurant. The service was good and the lobsters were served hot.
Mama Mia had a reputation of being one of the finer restaurants in So Flo. Food quality was excellent and a great place to bring a friend or friends. I was really disappointed in the look and condition of the restaurant's interior. The restaurant's interior condition is in need of a major make over. The use of the inferior place settings(silverware) and bare tables leave you wondering if you are not in one of the local fast food places. I was very disappointed overall.
All you can eat lobster night was great. Food was excellent and quickly replenished as we fulfilled our Lobster mania! Service was very friendly and focused on taking care of us throughout the evening. Well done.
Tonie the server/bartender was awesome!
W went in for the unlimited king crab and after one refill they ran out!!! We didn’t get our value on the meal at all and they didn’t offer to just charge us one order knowing it’s $50 and we didn’t get enough crab.
The Wednesday lobster special to second to none! Make your reservations early as they tend to fill up. Alas, the secret is out. The food was excellent as always! Go, enjoy, you won't be sorry.
We had Horrible food and service
Will never go back.
I feel like the food has gone downhill since I last went six months ago. Ordered the fried calamari appetizer and some of the calamari had shell on it. Fettuccine alfredo was very good but was charged extra $9 for four or five small shrimp, also had a Groupon that they said they randomly no longer took which was very disappointing. Server was very friendly and professional
In one word- big disappointment! It is extremly noisy, overpriced and not cosy place.
We ordered appetizer Italian plate, it was written it is with burrata, Parmesan, olives and assorted ham. We get plate with cheapest hard mozzarella, little ham and lot of cabbages. When we complain, the waitress just answered it can be different than elsewhere and didn’t care anymore.
For some bread you have to ask more times.
The final bill for 2 wines, one appetizer and 2 mains was over 110$. It was absolute not worth it.
Go dine in any of the other nice place nearby, you do better.
I use to go to Mama Mia’s a few times every season. It had been one of my favorite restaurants in the area. However, this past visit was my last. I immediately noticed that everything had changed. The atmosphere was loud. Formerly subdued lighting was now bright and harsh. The food that had been excellent was now mediocre. I found out from the waiter that there are new owners and a new chef. I hope they get their act together, but they have lost my business for good.
We ordered the lobster Mac and cheese. The food wasn’t very good, very bland and the lobster had no taste, the lobster claw and tail they put on the pasta had little meat and the meat that was there was stuck to the shell.
I would have given this review a 1 star however the service was incredible and we spoke with the head chef who apologized and asked for feedback. The new chef has been there for only a week and they are doing a brand new menu in another week or 2.
I would go back and give it a second chance once the menu was changed but won’t get he chance to as we live out of the country
It was not the same as I remembered from past years. We came early and it seemed that they weren’t fully ready. The wait staff was nice. The food was ok. I likely won’t return.
Portion to big
The veal cannelloni was cold inside
Reduce the portion and cook better
i have eaten there for 30 years
this was the worst experience ever
15 minutes for the waitress to come over
meals came wrong... the returned meal never came out
the drinks were slow to come out
This was by far one of the WORST dining experiences I've had in a while. The restaurant had about 3 other tables in it when we arrived at 6:45 on a Friday night...so not busy at all. Our server was pleasant enough, but not what I would call attentive considering the lack of other business.
FOOD: We ordered an Italian Wedge Salad to share as a starter for $14.95. We were presented with 1/4 of a head of iceberg lettuce topped with an oddly flavored Italian dressing, a few gorgonzola crumbles, four slices of prosciutto & about 4 grape tomatoes halved. The dressing was sparse & the prosciutto tasted off (after one bite, we suspected it might be spoiled so did not eat any more). We ordered an overpriced Rigatoni Pomodoro and Chicken Parmesan as our entrees. The waiter returned after taking our order saying he had forgotten to ask what pasta we wanted with the Chicken Parmesan. He offered a few options, including Penne. My husband opted for the penne. However, when it came out, it was accompanied by rigatoni. This was no big deal--but why offer an option if you're just going to serve what you want anyway. The Rigatoni Pomodoro was topped with 3-4 meatballs. The meatballs were the WORST I've ever tasted. I removed all the meatballs and put them on my bread plate. The waiter did not ask once if there was something wrong with the meatballs--neither during the meal nor when he cleared our plates. Note to owners & servers--if someone removes half their entree and puts it aside, something is amok. Find out what it is.
AMBIANCE: We asked our waiter if there were any specials. His response was to point around the restaurant to show us that they were currently under renovation so what was on the menu was what was available. The tables looked like cheap plywood painted with one coat of white paint. There were exposed wires in the ceiling, there were no decorations on any walls and the bathroom was dark & dingy.
I wish I could give this place ZERO stars!
the new owners serve half cooked lobsters, the atmosphere is worse than in a school cafeteria, the service is very disappointing and the managers are not listening to their customers.
Our only complaint as a group of 6 were some of the lobsters were under cooked. They quickly fixed the situation. The clam chowder was very good. I'll definitely be back to try some other food and all you can eat lobster again.
