About Maloney & Porcelli
Maloney & Porcelli is a clubby new American restaurant that draws inspiration from a simpler time when three martini lunches were alive and well, steak was for dinner, and servers anticipated guests’ every need, even completing dishes tableside. Begin meals at Maloney & Porcelli with a selection of shellfish, salads or favorites such as Scallops, Peekytoe Crabcake, or Steak Carpaccio that is finished tableside. For the main course, there is a choice of steaks and shanks, including the famed Crackling Pork Shank with Firecracker Applesauce, lobsters and composed options such as Chicken Under a Brick, Pan-Seared Atlantic Salmon, or Sunday Lasagna. An array of inventive sides complete the meal, like Gruyere Soufflé, Fried Herb Tater Tots, Hash Browns. The desserts inspire nostalgia with an individual red velvet cake served, Sunday Jubilee, and a selection of house-made sorbets, sherbets and ice creams.

Maloney & Porcelli Ratings and Reviews
Wine Dinner is a great value. Disappointed the only white was a cheap Pinot Grigio versus a higher quality Chardonnay last year. Service was good except it was was my wife's bday (noted on the reservation) and it was never acknowledged. I even said it was her bday when we ordered desserts and the waiter didn't pick up on my hint for a candle. We will be back but doubtful for one of our special occasions again.
We had a giftcard from a friend for this restaurant group. After several amazing trips to Quality Italian, we thought we would use our giftcard at another Quality location.
Living within walking distance of Maloney & Porcelli, I looked at their menu and reviews. Got excited about the Bronson Pinchot steak - I love au poivre!
However, the great reviews I read online must have been from tourists who don’t know any better; this place wouldn’t crack the top 25 on my list of places to find steak in NYC.
Sure, the tableside sauce for the Bronson Pinchot was an experience and the sauce tasted good. But, the steak itself was underwhelming, as was the service. Get the tater tots, not the home fries. Wine severely overpriced.
From the moment we were seated, we experienced poor service - waiter was hurried, took our drink orders before even bringing us water (we had to ask three times for water), not very personable or even treated us like we were actual guests (more like an inconvenience).
My recommendation is to either shape up and give New Yorkers a real steakhouse experience or keep trying to draw in tourists with what you’re doing. Highly disappointed.
When we arrived we were seated promptly in the area we had requested. Interior was beautiful however our service was awful. We had a 5:30 reservation as we had an 8:00 show to attend. After being seated we ordered appetizers and drinks immediately to begin our dinner. I asked where our dinners were at 6:30/6:40, and was told they would be right out. Long story short we never received our dinners until 7:10 which made us late for our show. We were planning a wonderful evening in the city to have it ruined by poor management and timing for our service. $400 bill for four of us and our evening was completely stressful and unenjoyable. Would not recommend this restaurant.
A little disappointed this time. Have always loved this restaurant and the wine dinner but this time was noticeably different. A family member's appetizer came out a solid 10 minutes after everyone else's. Overall we waited 90 minutes for our appetizers (yeah, 90 minutes), with no refill on bread. The wine for the wine dinner seemed to be of a lower quality overall. The prosecco was served warm. The waitress didn't even tell us what we were drinking, and we had to ask. The bathrooms were dirty, and no one had restocked the toilet paper. Other times at Maloney & Porcelli's I have always been impressed with the quality of the restaurant and service. This time I felt like we were dining at a frat house. Food was still very good, but everything else was a miss. I hope this was just an off night.
This is my favorite restaurant. It is always fabulous. It is such joy to introduce family and friends to it. The food is terrific, the variety is so much fun, and the service is outstanding. Lois has served my party several times, as she did Wednesday evening, and she is great. I don't know what else to say -- I love you!
The steaks were fabulous and when paired with a great wine it made for a fabulous night. Only downside we had was the table was right at the top of the stairs and was probably the worst table in the restaurant. As people would get up to leave they would stand and talk while putting on their coats. Not the most romantic of settings !! Shame really as the food was terrific.
Good quality food but limited menu. Excellent filet and lamb. Sides are a mix of creative and traditional. Super loud on Thursday nights. Service could have been better for the price. Definitely not a terribly welcoming environment unless your a guy wearing a suit.
You can always count on M&P for a terrific steak meal. Steaks are always perfectly cooked and wait staff is spot on. Wine list is solid with enough available by the glass. Most likely there will not be any room for desert, they are just "ok" any way. Great atmosphere.
Always a big fan of the MP wine dinner,
This visit was a bit of a disappointment.
Despite fantastic service from our waitstaff, the meal lacked it’s usually luster due to the wines served this weekend.
Why was the wine so inferior? Is the wine Dinner just an opportunity to get rid of stuff that doesn’t sell?
Note: Park Avenue Autumn now serves a Wine Dinner with far superior pours.
We had a delightful anniversary dinner - the crispy pork shank put a huge smile on my husband's face and my perfectly medium rare steak was divine. We passed on all the tempting salads and appetizers to save room for dessert and I'm glad we did as I still had to take some of my steak home (boo hoo - best day after lunch evah!). The manager sent us champagne to help us celebrate our anniversary and top off a special evening. I look forward to my next visit.
