Maloney & Porcelli is a clubby new American restaurant that draws inspiration from a simpler time when three martini lunches were alive and well, steak was for dinner, and servers anticipated guests’ every need, even completing dishes tableside. Begin meals at Maloney & Porcelli with a selection of shellfish, salads or favorites such as Scallops, Peekytoe Crabcake, or Steak Carpaccio that is finished tableside. For the main course, there is a choice of steaks and shanks, including the famed Crackling Pork Shank with Firecracker Applesauce, lobsters and composed options such as Chicken Under a Brick, Pan-Seared Atlantic Salmon, or Sunday Lasagna. An array of inventive sides complete the meal, like Gruyere Soufflé, Fried Herb Tater Tots, Hash Browns. The desserts inspire nostalgia with an individual red velvet cake served, Sunday Jubilee, and a selection of house-made sorbets, sherbets and ice creams.

The space was loud, two of the three starters we had were "eh." We split a filet which was great, strong good drinks too. Two people, two drinks each, 3 apps, 1 main, side, 250 including tip.

Maloney and Porcelli is an excellent restaurant with a New York character and very good food and very good service. It is not a tourist restaurant, happy hours around the bar serve as a gathering of authentic New Yorkers after office.

We always stay at the Palace and we always have one of our dinners at Maloney. There service is always excellent, Food is always very good. A little dark for some and possibly a little loud for some but the overall experience is always very good and worth the dollars you pay. Mind you it is not cheap but it is worth it.

My husband’s steak was good but very expensive. The creamed spinach dude, another charge wS delicious. I had the lamb shank. It was bland, very disappointing. I ordered the fresh asparagus as a die but never got it. Had to remind our waiter to bring me a glass of wine I had ordered, the hostess wore so much perfume it filled our space every time she walked by. We were not happy. Looks like business people take clients there and don’t really care about quality food and service.

My favorite meal at M&P is the Crackling Pork Shank over the years. Indeed it is a bit of a pricy meal. I have been there twice in the last month and each time the pork has been extremely overdone. In the old days you could open the cracking and the pork the juice pork would melt in your mouth.

They need to crank it back up a notch.

Service was terrible. Table of six squeezed into a table too small for six men. Waiter was serving too many tables. Could never get his attention. Asked for extra salad dressing. He said he would get it but never did. Restaurant was overbooked for the number of wait staff.

This place is over priced, even for NY, and desperately needs improved service. There were not enough waiters to serve everyone. The martini was $18 and it was one of the worst I ever had at a restaurant. I expect a good martini in Manhattan and this was a major disappointment. Another diner took some of our tater tots while they were waiting to be delivered. Frankly, it was really disgusting. We have been to this restaurant many times, however, this time the service and food were very disappointing. We will go elsewhere in the future.

Wedding anniversary, not many patrons in the restaurant, but sat us at a table next to 4 other parties, plenty of other tables available. Meal started off well, excellent service initially. After the server took our main course order, we didn’t see him again until we were walking out. No one came to check on the steaks or ask us how we were doing. No water refills, at all. We sat with empty glasses both wine and water for almost 20 minutes. I asked for coffee after the meal from another server, who never brought it. Overall it was a fine evening, we will come back at some point due to the amazing steaks and great wine selection. But being a special occasion and how slow the restaurant was that night, I would have preferred a table away from others. And I was very disheartened by how inattentive the staff was to us once we ordered.

Unfortunately the lunch time service was extremely slow in both delivery of food and in trying to get and pay for the check. A lot of waiters / bus boys running around but not sure what they were doing. Also I had the Burrata 2 weeks ago and today it was very good - however the "prosciutto" was not the same "prosciutto" as 2 weeks ago which was real. The prosciutto today was either cut the wrong way or it wasn't prosciutto.

With a business colleague from Europe, we had the Porterhouse steak for 2, the most expensive item on the menu. It was very disappointing- poor quality meat, and not cooked evenly. I have eaten there before, and it has been OK, without being outstanding. This was more like 'food chain' eating than a proper dining experience.

I was disappointed. Usually the service and food is superior. While I understand the place was busy, it seemed the wait staff were neglecting us. Had to ask for water and bread twice. Before we were done with our salad, the food was put on the table. They even took my wife's salad before she had finished. The pork crackling was overdone and tough.

A usually mature clientele was interrupted by a group of foul mouthed individuals that ruined our evening. A new chef that in my opinion was not an improvement . We have been dining at Maloney&Porcelli for more than 30 years and it saddens me to see it loosing ground. The staff has held up as to notch old world tremendous service. Management should be re-evaluated

Lovely evening, all staff attentive and friendly especially the gentleman serving our table( wish I could recall his name). Opted for the Wine dinner offer and was not disappointed, wine was particularly pleasant and plentiful. All of our party opted for steaks and they were all tender and flavoursome, will return when back in the big apple.
