About Maloney & Porcelli
Maloney & Porcelli is a clubby new American restaurant that draws inspiration from a simpler time when three martini lunches were alive and well, steak was for dinner, and servers anticipated guests’ every need, even completing dishes tableside. Begin meals at Maloney & Porcelli with a selection of shellfish, salads or favorites such as Scallops, Peekytoe Crabcake, or Steak Carpaccio that is finished tableside. For the main course, there is a choice of steaks and shanks, including the famed Crackling Pork Shank with Firecracker Applesauce, lobsters and composed options such as Chicken Under a Brick, Pan-Seared Atlantic Salmon, or Sunday Lasagna. An array of inventive sides complete the meal, like Gruyere Soufflé, Fried Herb Tater Tots, Hash Browns. The desserts inspire nostalgia with an individual red velvet cake served, Sunday Jubilee, and a selection of house-made sorbets, sherbets and ice creams.

Maloney & Porcelli Ratings and Reviews
The restaurant is great, we have been there before and the food is excellent. Our server was short and didnt really take time. When we had questions he just walked away in the middle of a sentence and came back. overall didnt seem interested to help us out. We had another server that helped him a little bit which was much nicer and more welcoming.
We have been here many times over the last 15 years. It's always on our "must visit", list when we come to NYC.
This time was disappointing, so we might take a break and try another steak house. My steak was cold and the noise level almost intolerable. Maybe because we sat upstairs???
Me & my partner visited Maloney's on our second night in New York after it was recommended by a friend. The wait staff where very pleasant and attentive and couldn't do enough for you, the wine deal was brilliant bottomless prosecco and red wine and the food was delicious, I would definitely visit again if I'm ever in New York. I was also provided a complimentary chocolate cake due to me being in New York for my 30th Birthday celebrations which is always a bonus.
We went during restaurant week and the food was very good. We had the shrimp, cocktail and the short ribs BBQ ribs which were delicious. Entrees we had were the scallops and the pork loin chop, both good but loved the pork. Dessert was coconut cake which was good too.
I really wanted to love my meal. Restaurant week and portions were big. The waitress was very good. Chef came over to chat which was very nice. My issue? My scallops were almost raw. Hate sending back cause they always return over cooked. My friends steak was raw but she said was cooked well. I brought home leftovers and recooked both and I know what I'm doing. Both proteins were heated for awhile and STILL were not overdone.
Also felt desserts just missed being good.
Would I return? Probably not but sometimes they don't try as hard with the restaurant week menu. Which we had to ask for.
It was the worst deal for the restaurant week. The meatball appetizer was so dry and awful, the main course scallops are also overlooked and the worst scallops I ever had in my life. The pork chop was also dried and not tasty at all. How can they expect people to come back, if they can't serve decent good for restaurant week? I don't want to go back there ever again. The runner was the only one person nice to make up this place. But the host to our waiter were not pleasant to celebrate my birthday. I reserved for my birthday and not once they wished my birthday. I don't recommend this place for anyone for special occasions!!!!!!!
M&P is an excellent meat and fish restaurant. My friends' pork shank with sauerkraut and jalapeno (which they shared) was crispy and juicy at the same time, and my whole baked branzino was delicious. Oysters were fresh and briny. The service was attentive and kept us on schedule. Cocktails were perfectly made and generous. Wine list is extensive, but expensive.
Went for Restaurant Week. Appetizer and entree were very good but the desserts seemed off. The sauce for the icebox cake tasted a little burnt and the vanilla panna cotta didn't taste anything like vanilla and was sour. The orange sherbet was the best part. Service was polite and friendly. Also the stairs down to the basement smells musty and moldy. The ambience of the main dining room is nice.
