Maloney & Porcelli is a clubby new American restaurant that draws inspiration from a simpler time when three martini lunches were alive and well, steak was for dinner, and servers anticipated guests’ every need, even completing dishes tableside.View Private Dining Details
Maloney & Porcelli is my favorite steak house in New York City. As expected, our steaks were prepared perfectly, all the sides were great, and the service was impeccable. Our entire experience met or exceeded our high expectations.
Waiter was very accommodating given the crazy compressed schedule my dining partner and I were on. He was SUPER. Please acknowledge his excellent service.
Food and service were both very good. We shared a porterhouse for two which was very good. I would definitely go back.
Fantastic food and service. The beef Wellington was the best I’ve had. This spot is great in that it is casual and formal at the same time. Outstanding quality with a relaxed yet upscale atmosphere.
Gaetano, The GM of the Restaurant is a true professional and an exceptional host. The food is amazing Especially the classic filet and the staff service is excellent. Can’t say enough good things about this restaurant Great venue for business meetings and dinners with the family.
A meal at Maloney & Porcelli never disappoints. Food is fabulous and the ambiance is perfect. A must go to restaurant in Manhattan.
We are in the city for a week. This has been our best dining experience yet. We had lobster bisque, lump crab cocktail, and Filet Oscar. It was all very good. The service was excellent as well. We would definitely come back here on future trips.
This is my favorite restaurant. Being vegetarian/pescatarian, I usually have an assortment of sides, but this time I decided to try the salmon chop. It was very good, and the presentation was lovely, but I didn't realize that getting salmon in chop form meant I would get bones. If I had known that, I would not have ordered it.
Our overall experience was wonderful, as always, and I look forward to returning soon.
Enjoy the food and the location makes it very convenient. That said, prices are a bit much for things like a salad for lunch
Cracking pork shank...what more can I say!!!
Maloney&Porcelli is an ideal spot for business lunch. The food is good, the waiters, especially Marco, are great, the ambiance lively but not too loud. All in all this is the best buy in the neighborhood.
Caring attentive staff. Delicious food
Wonderful Friday after work dinner with my husband, everyone was very attentive and the food and drink were perfection.
All about drinkers - diners sparse. Needs a renovation and different crowd
Wonderful birthday celebration with family! Great food and excellent service. This was our first visit but won't be our last!
Bartender was a bit surly so got seated soon after. Our waiter Otto was outstanding, very helpful with wine list and appetizer suggestions.
I always choose M&P when I have a business lunch scheduled in the neighborhood. Service is professional, and the ambiance is most suitable for a productive business meeting.
Quiet night. Fun place and good food- it a special steak house. Lovely old New York but a little frayed round the edges...
My girlfriend and I went for the "Nightly Wine Dinner" and it was DEFINITELY worth it. For our appetizers we ordered the scallops and crab cake . Both were cooked perfectly, and was a good potion size. For our entrees we picked the lobster ravioli and the Dry-Aged Prime Rib Steak. Arguably, the steak was one of the best I have had in the city. Ordered medium rare and it was cooked to perfection with a beautiful crust. This sucker was HUGE too. Then lastly for desert we shared the Banana Cream Pie and the $100,000 Bar. Both great. Also great house wines, and the flow never stopped!
The only reason I did not give this a perfect 5 star was because of our waiter. He would cut us off, rush us to order, and then move along quickly. I honestly just think it was this one waiter though, and not the core of servers. Everyone else seemed to speak formally, add suggestions, and guide their customers (Eventually someone else helped us because she could tell our server was not attentive).
I would 100% recommend Maloney & Porcelli to anyone, and will be going back again.
The music playing on a Friday evening at 7pm was a strange choice (rap). It did not fit the ambience of the restaurant. My husband throughly enjoyed his Bronson Pinchot filet. My lobster ravioli fell short. Service was attentive.
Our server was great & knowledgable about the wine selection. We shared the porterhouse for two and the steak was truly incredible. The crust on it was amazing! Definitely a great choice for Vday
Old favorite, great waitstaff.
Went for Restaurant Week which I feel always leads to a meal that just isn't quite the same as the normal experience. Our food was fine, but it felt like if we had ordered from the regular dinner menu instead of the Restaurant Week menu it would have been much better.
We chose restaurant for restaurant week.
All the food was tasty. However all but one of us had some issues. Two in our party ordered the cavatelli with shrimp. It was flavorful but each got a portion that was at most 3 tablespoons and minuscule amount of shrimp.
One of the filet ordered medium was very rare.
The waiter forgot a salad that he recommended but when brought to his attention did offer a complimentary desserts.
We had a nice evening and would try again.
Went for restaurant week menu. Ordered the filet medium rare. Came medium . Was dry. Waitress forgot our tea. Desert was stale
Food was excellent! Very noisy.. loud crowd... most seating is close to bar. Surrounding tables were very loud to exceed bar volume. very loud all around.
Seated promptly -- up in balcony. A little less noisy. Went for Restaurant week. Service sluggish (but in defense it also was very busy). Wine a little outrageous -- $16 a glass for Montepulciano. Pretzel breadstick was OK, mustard butter was weird. Scallop app not bursting, meatball app OK, filet cooked correctly, tender. Sautéed mushrooms could have been cooked a little more to release additional flavor. Banana ice cream was delish, brownie underneath (or whatever it was) needed to be cut with a jackhammer. Chocolate icebox cake was delish ... a perfect accompaniment to the ice cream actually. My dining partner and I split the apps, the mushrooms, and the desserts ... that's why it looks like I ate so much. :)
Came here last night for a dinner doing the RW menu. The appetizers of the scallops and steak tartar was delicious but the filet mignon was absolutely disgusting. There was barely any salt on the steak and the texture of it was so odd that we questioned whether it was actually a filet mignon cut. Desserts of the chocolate cake and banana cream pie ice cream were good. Service was pretty much non-existant. Only one server who came for the second half of our meal with grayish hair and glasses was very lovely and sweet but our main server was practically mute and she barely came to our table. First and last time going here.
The food was good and the atmosphere was as well. The service was on point. However, I can’t say I was “blown away” in any way by this restaurant. I understand it’s midtown Manhattan so it’s going to be expensive but I’ve been to other places in the city that were less expensive and far better.
Food was good, but overpriced. We had the Porter House for two, good meat and well prepared. The highlight was the King Crab, the appetizer. The thing that I really desliked was the temperature. Not sure if the heat was broken, but everyone was having dinner with their jackets on. I asked probably 3 times to have it turned up a little, the waiter kept saying ‘of course, I’ll fix it right away’, but he never did. That made us leave quickly and skip dessert. To cold to hang out.
Very disappointing. While the Filet was good the Pork Osso Buco was terrible. Overcooked , very low quality of meat, not at all tender, hard and almost inedible. Portion size was also skimpy but given the quality it really didn't matter. Restaurant was freezing cold. Would not recommend.
We always love MP But was also great taking our friends there for restaurant week. Now they want to come back for the pork shank. Drinks are great and even when the bartender made a mistake he came to us and mixed it correctly for the lady in our party. Always love and recommend this place.
The restaurant was very busy. It took quite some time until our order was taken. And quite some time until the first course was served. The vegetable for the table did not come with our entrees. After asking about it the server apologized. About 5 min later (app 15 min after the entrees arrived) the server brought 2 vegetables (no charge).
The food was very good.
It was extremely cold where I was sitting. Service was very slow- waited close to an hour for the check. Granted we were chatting and finishing up wine for part of the hour by server never came by to ask if we wanted the check and we had trouble flagging her down when we decided we really wanted to leave. Restaurant week menu was okay. Had the meatball salad appetizer it was nothing special and came out only moderately warm. Filet was very good, but my friends wasn’t medium rare as she ordered it so she didn’t enjoy hers as much. Dessert was a cookie plate, it was awful. The cookies were in no way fresh it tasted like they were store brand junk from Duane Reade that they picked up around the corner. Overall the experience was disappointing I wouldn’t go back.
Great service, delicious food, full wine, alcohol and cocktail list.
The food and service here is fantastic. Steak was cooked perfectly. The tater tots are amazing.
The whole meal was fantastic. Everything was just the right portion and the staff here was so polite. If there was an empty glass, they filled it. If there was a crumb, they had a brush to brush it off. If I had a question, they were quick to offer an answer. The only thing I thought was strange was the timing. We didn’t spend more than an hour there. Everything came out so fast! Almost too fast. My date and I barely had time to talk. I would 100% eat here again, but would slowly eat so I could spend more time there.
Food was delicious and the restaurant week menu was a bargain.
Outstanding filet--huge 10 oz, and done just right. Osso buco not so generous or flavorful. M&P needs some wines in the lower range--$40's. Choc cake was good but not outstanding. For such a good (expensive) restaurant the premier dessert should be OUTSTANDING. A good experience for NYC Restaurant Week. A bit expensive for regular dinner out with family member.
Lovely atmosphere, white glove service, professional staff and great food.
