Great? Not quite, but very good overall. Why do I say not quite.? My wife and I have recently relocated to Chattanooga from Dallas, TX. We have date night every Saturday night, usually with dinner out. This is a tradition that goes back 21 years. We decided to celebrate out 21st Anniversary with dinner at Malone's. I'll set this up by saying we have dined at many different restaurants in the Chattanooga area since arriving here in August, ranging from top-end to mom & pop hole in the wall restaurants. Starting with entering Malone's, we were greeted by friendly staff. We had reservations and were seated within 5 minutes of our arrival. The restaurant was very busy. If you didn't have a reservation, you weren't getting in on this particular Saturday night. We were seated in a so-so location, a little too close to the wait stand where they enter their tickets. No problem. Restaurant ambience was nice, clean and a mixed kind of crowd from very casual to nicely dressed. Our server was quick to come to the table with water and to take our drink order. Let me tell you ....Malone's bourbon list is second to none. Once we ordered our drinks and appetizers, the experience started to deteriorate. The server was lost or over-burdened. There were too many long periods of time where he vanished. We received our appetizers and drinks quickly enough, but after that, we had extremely long waits for the salad, and a ridiculous amount of wait time on our entrees. I suspected that our server forgot to place the order until he saw that we were finished with the salad. He made a point to state that our steaks should be out soon. "Soon" was 20 minutes later. My wife and I still had a very good time enjoying each other's company, but it shouldn't be like this. Not with a restaurant that prides itself as being top-shelf. Still an overall 4 star, but the 5 star restaurants are known for timing. We'll give it another shot someday, but no rush to go back.

Thomas was a great waiter. Very prompt and patient. Food was delicious. Overall service excellent. We love using the app for discounts. Favorite Chattanooga restaurant.

We had a wonderful experience and our server Ethan was outstanding, I ordered a drink called Paper Plane and he made a paper airplane to go with it. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was amazing, we even got dessert which we never do. We highly recommend!

Small hiccup to start with a missed reservation in the system but the staff got a table quickly ready for our party of 10. Excellent food and great ambiance.

We have started going to Malone’s as our steak restaurant of choice. Food is consistent and fairly priced. We used to go to Ruth Chris’s but feel that they have gone overboard with everything a la carte.

My previous experience at Malone’s was awesome food and service. Sunday’s experience was disappointing. I hope it was just a one time mistake. I want to give it another shot. For the money, overcooked steaks and forgetting appetizers is not acceptable.
