The paella was amazing! Best seafood paella ever! Even more fantastic than that I ate in Barcelona!
My family and I love coming to Mallorca. The staff is always top notch!!! They are all about giving you a great dining experience.
We had reservations and didn't think we needed them, but the restaurant was almost full at 6 PM. On Wednesday. So don't go without reservations! What characterizes this restaurant most, is it old world feel. The waiters were just lovely. Treat you like you are an honored guest in their home. The fish was really good, as were the appetizers. The sides that came with the dinner were unremarkable. Overall nice experience.
We love to try new and different cuisines when traveling. We enjoyed the meal as we have nothing in our area comparable. We had an enjoyable evening.
Our family's go-to celebration place. Great food, great Portugese and Spanish wines, great waiters ambience and waiters!
This was a fabulous experience . The staff made you feel like you were visiting their home. The food was phenomenal and interesting, but also kind of a classic menu. Perfect for my friends 30th dinner with our spouses. Could not have been better!
I really enjoyed the vegetarian paella and the fact that the meals come family style with Rice and chips that you serve yourself. Would not recommend the lobster tails as they were unfortunately chewy. Another diner got one of the shrimp dishes and found it perfectly tasty but felt it was overpriced The ambience is of a grand small old fashioned restaurant- it’s great! Service is crazy-good. There’s a fantastic dark-haired female server. (all the rest were men with that faux-obsequious air eg calling us 3 over 50/years old women “Señorita”). We also had peppers stuffed with cheese, raisins pine my s (these are available as both an appetizer and a vegetarian entree). And creamed spinach which was beautiful fresh spinach lightly cooked/I hadn’t had it this way before /in a white cream. Let me tell you : mix it with some of those stuffed peppers and you are in heaven. Flan dessert was-you know-flan, very good flan in that delicious brown sauce. BTW the bread is kind of a bore. All dinners came with a salad in a “Russian” dressing. So eat up senors and senoras
It was our first time there! everyone who has ever been there told us how good it was! - so we went there to celebrate my husband's birthday! it was the best choice we could have made. Food was great! The service was excellent!
I LOVED THE ATMOSPHERE THE STAFF WAS VERY ATTENTIVENESS KNOWLEDGEABLE OF THE MENU AND EVERYONE WAS HELPFUL I FELT WELCOMED AND PAMPERED
It was wonderful as usual one of our favorite places
Dinner was absolutely delicious and the staff was very welcoming and friendly. We got the paella and was not let down.
Best dinner I have had in Pittsburgh. Service was excellent.
Staffing and food was amazing!! Can’t wait to bring my family
Impeccable service. Great food. Really a great dining experience.
Went with Oscar, my Spanish soon to be brother in law, my sister, my mom and my 8 year old boy. Had 5 appetizers and tapas and then 5 different entrees... All tasted great, were delivered with zest and on time. Great wait staff, great food and the Spainard Oscar said that it's an authentic taste of Spain. I'll return, for sure.
Mallorca has been one of our favorites for over 20 years. The wait-staff are all fantastic, charming, attentive without being intrusive and quick to recognize you even after long absences. If you order an appetizer, be forewarned, they are substantial. The food is always delightful and plentiful. We shared the Paella , which was enough for 2 with lots of mussels, clams, shrimp, sausage and chicken. Our son ordered Boar Osso Bucco, which was incredibly tender, covered with a garlic laden sauce and lima or butter beans, which had soaked up the sauce and were as good as the meat! In addition they serve a family style dish of steamed mixed fresh vegetables, which can be a bit boring, but we requested they be tossed with some garlic butter...yum!!! In addition to all this, a dish of home style potato chips. Because they brought out birthday cake for the 3 of us, we did not order our usual flan..which is the best in the city! An espresso for me and cappuccino for the birthday boy finished us nicely...until they brought a wonderful after dinner liqueur. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!!!
Food was delicious, not one note of dislike from my friend, who complains about everything! Service was very friendly without being intrusive. Would definitely recommend going here for any occasion
The Mallorca is a very pricey restaurant, but the food and service are exceptional. While the meals are pricey you receive extremely generous amount of food. We had appetizers, sangria, and desert with our main meal. The six of us were happily stuffed. Beyond the menu there was an extensive verbal menu. My son and his wife had the 3 pound stuffed lobster. It was amazing to the eye and amazing to enjoy watching them enjoy this feast. The prime rib was about a pound of delicious perfectly cooked meat. The pallella was enough for 3 or 4. We yummed our way through ever course. Highly recommend the Mallorca for a very special occasion, but it does get a little noisy.
The restaurant was very quaint, and the ambiance was fantastic. Service was exceptional and friendly. Meal was excellent and generous proportions. A little noisy, but not a problem. Had a great nite.
Excellent food, fantastic service
The best thing about the restaurant was the service. Particularly the waiter who brought us the dessert tray. Extremely knowledgeable! The mixed seafood was incredible, as was my shrimp and wine sauce
Visiting Pittsburgh decided to try this and we were not disappointed at all!!! Great food and service.
We've been there about five times and each time the food has been excellent and the service has been spotless. We've tried a number of different items from the menu and have never been disappointed. Wonderful restaurant!
We made reservations to celebrate my aunt's birthday. We scheduled an early lunch because some guests had plans for later in the afternoon. Food and service were excellent and all enjoyed their meals. Cocktails were great. After eating they brought a cake to celebrate aunt's birthday - a pleasant surprise. Have had many fine meals here and recommend to everyone. A great afternoon.
Great food and a lot of it. The list of specials was impressive although I couldn't remember half of it by the time the server was done. The goat was excellent and so was the paella. The chorizo delicious.we barely made a dent to our food and had no room for dessert.Did not like our seating and felt very cramped on the side table. But I Would definitely come again to try out some more food!!
We went to Mallorca for our anniversary. When we walked in, right on time for our reservation, the front room was very chaotic. The hostess seemed very overwhelmed and was not able to seat us at the time of our reservation. The presentation of the food was very lacking and unprofessional. Our waiter was inattentive and seemed to hand us off to some kind of assistant for the night. We very much enjoyed the atmosphere and ambiance of the dining room. The food was decent and plentiful.
Great food, great service but a very loud Saturday night. However, still one of our Burgh favorites. Never fails to please.
Food was good. Service was slow. Very very loud !! Tables are right on top of one another. Couldn't even here my boyfriend talk. We were celebrating our first year of dating. Asked for a out of the way table when I made my reservations but was put right in the middle of the room next to large parties. Very disappointing evening 😞
Very crowded. Best waiters in Pittsburgh.
The food was tremendous The service is very good although at times it seemed like they could not wait to take our plates away. I had blackened swordfish and it was tasty. The 2 dirty martinis I had were terrific
Excellent service, Food was excellent staff very attentive !!
The food, service and atmosphere was GREAT. Can't wait to go back....
Fantastic lobster dishes, but also a bit pricy!! I would probably come again to try other featured courses
GREAT OCTOPUS! We had a lovely evening; helpful and welcoming staff, delicious food, huge portions, an altogether pleasant experience.
This is an excellent pioneering restaurant. The food is excellent, the staff, choices and the added touch on this Valentines Day date. The only drawback was poor table location. I will go again while being careful in choosing table location. Best of luck to the new owner ,Alex, who was most gracious when we talked with him before leaving. This is a great and original Pittsburgh meets Portugal and Spain culinary experience. A tribute to the ingenuity of our city and her culture.
The ambiance, service at Mallorca is always spectacular. We have been here many times. This time was no different. Our lobster tail was a little tougher than we would have liked but the sangria, shrimp in garlic sauce and flan were all wonderful!
great food and excellent off the menu specials
The quail is one of the best
Good food and service
We went to Mallorca for a late, leisurely birthday lunch. It was perfect, as always. We were seated at our requested table and began with a pitcher of their excellent red sangria, followed by the octopus appetizer. My entree was Shrimp in White Wine Sauce, while my husband had Paella - both were wonderful, including the salad, papas fritas, rice, and vegetables. We completed our meals with Mallorca coffee and complimentary glasses of almond liquor. Perfection!
When we were seated, we asked for slowly paced service, so as to enjoy our experience, and were not disappointed. The waiters are elegant and obviously highly trained. Mallorca is not your typical restaurant, and we love it.
