Love the place and atomosphere. The food was delicious.
Mallorca is the best! Great food, great service and affordable! Worth every penny! Been going there for years! Love it!
Staff was shorthanded that night but was throughly enjoyable evening.
Had steak special and paella, delicious
If I could rate this place 6/5 stars, I would. This restaurant continues to be one the best spots for fine dining in Pittsburgh. Also, you can't beat free next-door parking.
Went on a Sunday with my girlfriend at 5pm. Restaurant was empty and quiet. Our waiter was fantastic as well as everyone else we encountered on the wait staff. One waiter even said he was excited to come over to talk to us because we were “ very nice people “.
We ordered the oysters to start which were excellent and abundant in portion.
We then ordered our dinners which came out in a well suited amount of time between our appetizer and drinks.
She got the double 7 oz. stuffed lobster tail.
I got one of the specials which was half a 2lb whole lobster with scallops, mussels ,clams, shrimp, and salmon.
The wait staff insisted on serving us beyond just dropping the food off at the table. Two gentlemen removed the lobster meat from the shells of both of our dinners.
Food was fantastic and the manager who checked in with us throughout our dinner gave us a delightful liqueur to cap off our dining experience.
I will certainly be coming back to Mallorca.
Everything was wonderful. Wonderful food, amazing service, beautiful restaurant. It was our first visit but definitely not the last.
I will never go back again!! The food was tasteless!!
Old school service , lots of character, felt like we were in New York, lots of atmosphere
The food and service were outstanding. Huge portions of paella. Loved it and will definitely return soon.
Overall the meal was good. I would recommend it to everyone and I would go back. One of the downfalls I saw was that my steak knife was about as sharp as a butter knife.
Great food and service. Nice quiet table for 2 in the corner away from the rest of the room. Really enjoyed ourselves!
The arroz con pollo was delicious! The portions were huge, with enough to take home for another meal.
Waiters were so very attentive. Things I might change would be the side vegetables. Basically, they were just steamed and no real flavor. Overall, I would go back the next time I was in town.
I really enjoy the time there, quiet and comfortable. The food is amazing and I highly recommend the scallop. So delicious!
Noisy but very good food and wine list
I came with a group of friends. We were seated on the patio which was so nice. However, we waited a half hour just to get a drink order taken. Once we placed our order for food we then had to wait an hour and a half for our meals. Once we finished eating the waiters kept looking at us funny and whispering. They couldn’t remember if we got a check or not. We waited another hour to get our check and they tried to give us free shots as an apology. All in all we were there for close to 4 hours!! They didn’t even offer to knock off anything from our bill for the horrendous wait. The food was good but our experience was not. We will never come back to this restaurant.
This place is and always has been top notch. So many good items on the menu. Fantastic. Casual, good atmosphere.
The food was delicious and the atmosphere was authentic. Our group enjoyed speaking Spanish with the staff. The seafood paella was the best
Excellent service. Stuffed rainbow trout was delicious. Filet delmonico was perfectly prepared. Will definitely be back.
Mallorca never fails to deliver great food, great service, and an overall wonderful experience. All the new Pittsburgh restaurants should follow Mallorca’s business model. Serve great food that is also a great value. So many of today’s new restaurants serve small portions yet charge high prices. We do not mind high prices, but we want the food to be worth it. Superior Motors should take note! Love SM but leave hungry.
This visit was slightly down from previous visits. One of the soups had been distinctly over salted but this was replaced quickly without question. Being a Monday it was a little more laid back than some times we've been there but still one of the best spots to eat in Pittsburgh for that special occasion or to impress.
Great food and excellent service, would definitely go back
We ordered a meatball appetizer that had no flavor. We ordered $35 of food total, and when the check came they tried to charge us $68. And it feels like the waiters are hovering because there's three of them that just stand in the dining room.
Service was great. Everyone was friendly. Food was pretty bad. Salads were overdressed and limp. Soup was way too salty, like it had reduced for too long. Main entrees has very little seasoning. Prices were high for the quality of food. Although the noise level was fine, atmosphere felt like my grandma’s porch in 1988, complete with the green “lawn-like” carpet. Will not be back.
i’ve been here 4-5 times over the years and it always surprises me with new specials and an extensive but exciting menu. again, i had goat - was a special. tender and fantastic as usual.
i’ll be back!
I haven’t eaten here in 4 years so when I had friends who love seafood come into town, I thought it would be a great place to take them. Well let’s just say I was embarrassed. The Server was rushed, so much so my friend said she wanted to take a Xanax for him. He receited the specials so fast and with his accent it was hard to understand any of them. It took over 20 minutes to get a drink and about 2 hours to get our entrees. I doubt if I will ever return.
Excellent food, service and ambience. The sea bass was the best fish I have had in the Pittsburgh area.
Beautiful room with an excellent wait staff! My wife & I were visiting from out of state and wanted a nice lunch (w/paella). However, ordering from the lunch menu, we had 2 entrees, no drinks (water only) & 2 desserts w/coffee--with tax & tip lunch was $75. Food was good, but not THAT good.
The food is authentic and as good as I’ve had in the US
We sat outside and it was pretty loud I guess that’s to be expected considering the location. The service was subpar long wait for drinks, rude server. I ordered a filet medium and it was way over cooked and the mashed potatoes tasted instant. My husband had the goat, ox tails and a seafood dish that he enjoyed. I personally will not go back I was so excited to try this place and it was a let down.
Always good food and generous portions. We are always too full from our entree to eat the rice and vegetables they bring to the table.
My husband and I have been going to Mallorca for over 15yrs. It’s a restaurant we had one of our first dates and just fell in love with the place. From the moment you arrive you’ll feel welcome by the incredible wait staff and beautiful decor. The food is incomparable to anything you will have in Pgh restaurants. My husband and i most recently celebrated my 39th birthday, and my having celiac disease is always a concern. The wait staff once again went out of their way to accommodate and I had one of the best meals. They even made me a special gluten free/dairy free dessert. Love Mallorca! a restaurant that feeds the soul.
Still one of Pittsburgh’s best restaurants. It has everything. Great food. Outstanding service.
Brought my sister here to celebrate her birthday. Everything was fantastic. Food and service we're excellent. Will return for sure. Highly recommended!
Very wonderful experience with exceptional food. Each dish presented with culinary skilll. Family style sides could be served hotter. Too many servers per table, but better that than not enough service given. Seafood is best in the city! Treat yourself!
Saying goodbye to a friend is never easy but having a tasty meal as a touchstone is always a nice way to do so. The wait staff were very patient as we tried to make up our minds on which of the delicious meals to choose. The food arrived steaming hot and delicious. As always when we eat there, part of it came home with us and was eaten with a great deal of joy the next day. The portions are very generous and the presentation was very smart. I make it a point to bring visiting dignitaries form out of town her whether it is for a nice lunch or a sumptuous dinner. Many of these guests are well travelled and all walk away satisfied that they found not on ly the best place on the South Side of Pittsburgh but a restaurant that could rival any in the many cities around the world they have visited. Thanks for always giving us a great memory.
Overall service was exceptional. Food other than the cold homemade soda bread and wilted salad with no choice of dressing-came with French dressing and overly wripened tomatoes was excellent and extremely filling with the family style sides. Decor inside very dated but clean. Our table unfortunately was next to the floor air conditioning cooling vents and extremely cold. The restaurant could definitely benefit with an updated decor and serve hot buns and either skip the salad or make sure it is fresh or replace with a relish tray etc. overall a great dinner for price and quantity of food.
I took my girlfriend for our anniversary and it was fantastic
Hand an amazing birthday dinner! I had never had Spanish cuisine before and the waiter was attentive and explained things wonderfully. Amazing sangria amazing food and they gave me a shot+ piece of cake for my birthday. One of the best birthdays I’ve had in awhile!
The restaurant is beautifully appointed with hints of Spanish decor. The wait staff is attentive and thorough. The menu is large and varied. The waiter will then add about 10 house specials of the day from duck to wild boar to other exotic main dishes. We went in the early evening on a Saturday in late summer. Although the food, by and large, was exquisitely prepared and extremely tasty, the management would be well-serve (pardon the pun) to remove four tables from the dining room we were in as it was way too congested, with people bumping into one another with their chairs, and waiters attempting to negotiate the serpentine narrow paths between tables. Moreover, it was clear that they were either short of help or not on their game because we had to wait long intervals between finding anyone who would bus or wait on us, plus one dish came out a full 10 minutes after the rest of our plates - for which they graciously comped us a dessert and coffee.) It is also a very noisy place, so if you are inside and the place is packed - as it was - you will have difficulty hearing one another. In short, between the staff and noise, the dining experience seemed harried and frenetic, not casual or intimate. Otherwise, if you're a foodie, you will not be disappointed. All dishes we ordered were delicious, beautifully seasoned, nicely plated, and true to form - right down to the flan for dessert. Again, if they sacrifice at least four tables and gather their wits, it will be a lovely dining experience for you.
Service usually world-class. Not as good this time. Food excellent as usual.
