   It started off on the wrong foot. We had a reservation and that was good! 12 ish identical open tables on the patio. 11 with umbrellas. Every single one was empty when we arrived. They stuck us on the one without an umbrella and directly in sunlight. Ok no big deal we’ll ask to move to one with an umbrella. Her response was “I’m sorry we have all these booked on reservations.” I responded that we’d have to go if they couldn’t move us (we have twin one year old’s and it was a hot Mother’s Day!) I also may have said it felt like they were treating their other reservations as more important as each table was identical besides the ONE without an umbrella. Either way, a manager or someone equivalent came out to help. She straightened it out right away and completely understood the concern. The rest of the meal was good! They had an all you can eat pastry and fruit area. That was very good. The meals were great. Each one of us enjoyed them a lot and had a good amount of food leftover. Will I be back? Absolutely. Mallards is one of my favorite twin cities restaurants. Looking forward to the next time.

   Lobster roll and fish and chips were delicious. Dry rub ribs were very very spicy for us. Austin did a fabulous job as our server. Thank you.

   Another wonderful experience - on the patio, this time. Best lobster roll … reminds me of trip to east coast.

   Juan did an excellent job of service. Food was delicious. Menu is changing tomorrow so did not have all the choices listed on the menu. But we were able to find delicious entrees.

   Our server, Matt, was amazing. On top of it, super friendly, knowledgeable, the whole nine. Great value for the quality. Surprisingly small dining area and it gets incredibly loud. Read somewhere that someone was “uncomfortable” with how close tables get and I could see how that might be an issue for some. It felt very much like cruise ship seating, and our neighbors definitely kept an interest in our conversation for some reason 😂. Parking is a problem if you have mobility issues or just don’t want to walk. The restaurant doesn’t seem to “fit” the area of worn out downtown Shakopee so I think a lot of people miss it. I know we did.

   Was celebrating 2 Birthdays (ages 78 and 71). We all loved the food! Service was great and the place looked clean and nicely decorated. Just happened to find it while searching for a restaurant for my birthday. It was definitely worth the drive from Mound and Waconia. Will definitely go again. Can’t wait to go back 😀

   Our server was very attentive and the food was great! We are sad that you are getting rid of the pecan crusted walleye with cajun cream and sweet potato casserole. it is our favorite!

    First time at Mallards. Was not disappointed. Food excellent. Friendly and prompt service. We had Tuscan Pappardelle and the Lobster roll. The Tuscan had savory sausage with fresh pasta and had an incredible cream sauce. Best pasta dish I’ve had in a while. My wife reports the Lobster Roll was very good as well. Kudos to you all
