After enjoying a hike up the mountain from Bridge 5 to 1, we stopped for a hot chocolate and chili bowl. Everything was amazing and the staff were great. They inquired as to our food preferences and suggested their dinner menu which included a meat platter to be shared by 2 people.
We quickly booked a reservation for dinner, hiked back down the mountain and returned for dinner! (Driving this time)
Our dinner experience was even better than the lunch. The portion size for the price was unbeatable and again the staff were amazing.
Thank you! We will be back next season.
Great value for the Wilderness platter for 2! The amount of food we received for the price was absolutely outstanding! Our server was very friendly & attentive. They also had a special wine list with Canadian wines for only $40/bottle (some on the list were regularly $85!). Overall it was a great experience & we will be returning again next time we are in Jasper!
Had a delicious meal (the platter) to share. Desert was amazing, the only issue was cool coffee, but they made it right and didn’t charge us. Loved it and would definitely go again.
Food was awesome and atmosphere amazing. Really enjoyed the platter, great value.
Great experience!
Went for a date night.
Our server was knowledgeable, and friendly. Smoked brisket was top notch. Don’t have any complaints.
Looking forward to eating here again
Servers were very friendly and accomadating as we had a young baby (2 months). Food was very good especially the French onion soup.
Very cold. Slow service. Apparently staff gas no control of the heat and all the patrons had coats on.
Had made reservations for lunch at the Wilderness Kitchen. When we arrived, we had to wait a few minutes for the hostess to greet us. We were originally seated at a table away from the window. Shortly after we sat down, a window table became available, and I asked the hostess if we could move there. She said that she would come get us once she had sanitized the table.
My husband and I decided to both get French onion soup, and share a pulled pork sandwich. The soup and the sandwich were brought out at the same time. The kitchen had split the pulled pork sandwich onto separate plates for us - which I really appreciated. The food was very good (the best French onion soup I have had in a long time), and the service was excellent.
Would like to come back again in the summer when a person could sit outside.
Went for Thanksgiving dinner and had the special dinner there. This was our first visit there. Really enjoyed the meal. Service was excellent. The only complaint was the dessert menu offered for the Thanksgiving dinner. Would have been nice to have something more holiday related.
Thanksgiving
Fantastic! A hidden gem in Jasper and one of the best restaurants anywhere. The food is unbelievable and the setting is spectacular. This is a must stop in Jasper!
We had a delicious Thanksgiving meal with excellent service in a beautiful setting. Can't wait to return again!
Such great food and perfect place to arrive after a stunning hike!
We had a fantastic meal at the Wilderness Kitchen! Having not been before this was a great first experience - we recommend it highly and will be back. The food was incredible and large portions, we actually could not finish our meal. Don’t miss the wilderness platter! Thank you to the staff and especially the manager Kaylee for making this stop on our honeymoon memorable
Friendly service & tasty foods
It was a nice and cozy restaurant. Driving there at night is not the easiest as there are no street lights but it's not difficult to find. We had a reservation at 8.30pm and arrived 10 mins late due to this. Then we were told that we needed to order quickly as kitchen was closing. The lady who served us Maria was very nice and professional and food was quite quick although we were late. Also gave my wife a free sorbet since we were celebrating her birthday. The food portion was also huge and good value for money.
Food was amazing. Area is beautiful too. Great service
Food was very tasty and worth the drive from Jasper to visit.
A nice atmosphere. Excellent value.
Beautiful restaurant located just around the corner of Maligne Canyon. Excellent cuisine served hot and perfectly balanced. Food was eceptionally delicious with large quanitities. Staff were friendly, warm and engaging. Highly recommend this beautiful place.
Beautiful lunch
Henrietta was our server and she was excellent, the food was excellent, had the brisket sandwich. The only draw back was the coffee, an Americano, good beans, but too much water.
Fantastic food. The cornbread is to die for. We were seated at a table by the fire pits which was so relaxing and cozy.
Food was great.
We were celebrating my birthday in Jasper and really wanted to explore some new places. This restaurant was amazing from beginning to end, we love everything about it and can’t wait to come back. If I had one criticism it would be that the menu is quite small so if you’re a picky eater you may have a tough time. Definitely recommend though!! LOVED IT!
So wonderful. Can’t say enough about the patio experience and the good. Will definitely go again.
10/10!! We ate a late lunch at Maligne Canyon Wilderness Kitchen on Sept 29. We started with the cigar pulls which were unique and delicious. For the main course my husband and I shared the bison burger and beef brisket prepared with their own unique methods, both being extraordinary. I would recommend the mac and cheese as a side - it will melt in your mouth! We were left absolutely stuffed. We did however find our "second stomach" when our server brought us a light and fluffy raspberry pie to help us celebrate our anniversary. Our server, Henriett was exceptional, giving excellent recommendations, being enthusiastic and engaging throughout our meal.
Food was really good. Restaurant was clean and staff was friendly. I enjoyed the Canyon Pale Ale. Would go back again.
Great food and great service! Jesse made the experience great!
Love the decor - rustic and cozy yet clean and modern. Servers were very attentive and food was delicious - served on wooden platters. Brought my aunt and uncle from out of town who were both very impressed with both the food and the setting. Thank you again for a wonderful evening!
Amazing lunch menus and cozy atmosphere on the patio. Listening to the river as you eat and relax. Service was the best I’ve had in years! 10/10 will be retiring every time we can
This was an amazing place to stop and eat. Had a mix of deli to pub to upscale dining sections in this restaurant. Even a very cool patio overlooking the waterfalls. The food was delicious and the wait staff were attentive and friendly. Has a gift shop and an outdoor sitting section with a fire pit. If I come back, I will definitely be dining here again! Highly recommend!
This was our first trip here. It was a quite Friday night but the service and food was excellent. We look forward to a return visit.
Was highly disappointed in this meal. We got the wilderness platter and the chicken and ribs were both overcooked and dry. The mac n cheese and fries sides were both cold. Service could’ve been a bit better as well. Did not live up our expectations sadly.
Wonderful spot. Enjoyed dinner here, outside around a fire table. Great food, great service.
Wow!, what a wonderful surprise this place was. Food was good, service was excellent and what a setting. This is a hidden gem for sure.
Beautiful setting, excellent quality food. I will definitely go back on my next trip to Jasper.
Our server was fantastic... very friendly & seemed sincere. She provided honest opinions & recommendations as well.
Additionally, the tables were spacious & well-spaces apart from each other, so we felt very safe & comfortable even during this pandemic.
All the drinks & food were delicious & well-sized, with reasonable prices.
Would definitely go back here!
What a fantastic restaurant. It was a nice mix of fancy or casual. Whatever you chose to wear, you fit right in.
We sat on their deck for our 5 year wedding anniversary, our waitress was Henrietta. She truly loves her job! I would go back just because of her. She was so friendly, funny and attentive.
Beyond the amazing service, the food was outstanding and very reasonable.
This will be a regular stop on our trips through Jasper
Incredible meats, super cute patio, rustic vibe, friendly servers, tasty cocktails. What’s not to like?
