Rosewood Miramar Beach - Malibu Farm
Food was good but took a while once we got seated to get served.
The view was beautiful, the food (hummus appetizer & burger) were delicious, the service could have been better: Unfortunately, I kept having to ask to have my water glass filled. Other than that, all was good.
Upscale but chill place for casual dining - anything from burgers to beautifully prepared fish-nearly all locally sourced. Which I like.
Best service in town and such friendly waiters.
Food was delicious and ambiance was delightful, highly recommend.
It was good!
Delicious meal - we shared a salad and salmon given we were eating early and coming off a late lunch. Beautiful setting with sunset and trains.
A remarkable and beautiful spot, a 1,000% improvement over the old Miramar Hotel. The service, the food, and the romantic ambiance make for a new favorite spot to go for a getaway or just for a day.
While pricy, Malibu Farm is a gem. Delicious food. Great drinks (we loved the "Lime") and wonderful service. Jessica is our new BFF. Look forward to returning.
We are so pleased to hear that you enjoyed your experience with us Snooks! We hope to see you back soon! Thank you for writing the 5 star review. O'Neill H. General Manager Malibu Farm
My guest was 2 hours late and the servers were totally understanding because of holiday traffic. Had a lovely time once she arrived. It is a beautiful venue.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review for us here at Malibu Farm FLossie17! We have one of the best teams in the business. We will share your feed back with them. Please join us again soon! O'Neill H. General Manager Malibu Farm
The newness has a slight feel of a "Mcmansion". So many staff hanging around the entrance is off-putting. Our server was not attentive. Eggs Benedict with crab with spicy hollandaise had not evidence of spice and the crab was none too fresh and shredded instead of chunks. Eggs perfectly poached, though so a B+ for that dish. No ice in lemonade which came right of a bottle
Average food and service at 5 star prices. With so many better options close by it’s hard to find a compelling reason to want to return
The best food and the best service! I read so many reviews online about how bad the service was but it was excellent! I would definitely go back.
Beautiful day dining in outdoor setting. Great service... Fish Tacos just ok. Fried chicken sandwich very food.
Beautiful surroundings. Excellent service. Very limited menu of uninspired and unremarkable food. Much too expensive for what you get. Three of four of us were disappointed with the food.
While the setting of the property is incredible, the service doesn’t live up to the 5* luxury resort property. Took us 10 minutes just for the host to check us in. Then our table was smack in the sun. When I asked to move, they offered me a sun hat. While that helped my head, I left there with burnt shoulders, an overheated body & ringing ears. The table was just behind the kids pool... The service at the Miramar Beach bar was worse. 5x to get the proper order (we only ordered a Pimm’s and a lemonade). At least they comped the drinks! The least they could do.
My halibut was horrible, her steak was good. Our waitress Rita was stuck up and patronizing. As far as overpriced hotel food goes, you get far more substance at any Four Seasons.
Beautiful resort. Service was excellent and people were lovely. Food was expensive but very good wonderful spot. We’ll go back again.
For breakfast or brunch absolutely yes! For dinner , no.
The kale dinner salad was so thick and not cut but in wide leaf thick pieces , I almost choked ! Too many different servants , and even got served the wrong food .
Portions ridiculously too small (salmon) and sour sauce . The table view and scenery was very nice tho.
Beautiful spot. Service a total miss. Apps and entrees came out together. Kids ice cream was $17 a piece. Wine was forgotten about. Needs to work out their kinks
Lovely setting, delicious food, excellent attentive service.
Met hotess bit of an attitude. Understaffed. Came early had a reservation, waited half an hour at dirty blue couches with previous used coffee. Not bussed. Empty tables in restaurant, staff running around unorganized. Waiter took order never offered more water had to ask twice. Really this is rosewood resort! Burger was delicious. Staff needs to work together as a team. Hotess needs a better attitude...
Finally a fantastic, local plant-based menu. Really delish. Attentive waitstaff. We’ll be back!
It took twenty minutes for the server to come to our table. It wasn't very busy. Also, Malibu Farm had me down as a no show after telling them I had a reservation and sitting at the bar waiting for my dinner companion. Food is excellent and the location is spectacular. David Caruso and his team did an amazing job with the property.
Wonderful surprise at the conclusion of our dinner.
I treated my friend to a birthday lunch and we were both extremely happy with the experience. The resort is relaxing, the staff is very friendly and our meal was fantastic. We sat outside under an umbrella. My vegan salad was the freshest I've ever eaten. It's the only restaurant that served the cream for my coffee warmed in a small ceramic pitcher. My friend was given a special sponge cake with fresh berries on the side and a little piece of chocolate that said "Happy Birthday." We enjoyed everything about this experience.
Lovely place to dine and enjoy the ambiance. I have been there about 5 times and service has been excellent except for the last visit. Poor service, had to ask or remind him for the breadbasket, water and coffee not refilled, long wait to order and did not appear happy. Food great as usual. Maybe he was just having a bad day, but if this was my first visit, I would not return. The first visit was perfect with great service and that is the reason why I kept returning.
Birthday - Delightful venue delicious food
Enjoyable locale. Had a business lunch there at the recommendation of my wife and it was great for that. Sat inside but outside was nicer... Food was very good. Expensive but worth it.
Our group of four enjoyed our lunch at Malibu Farm. Fish tacos - halibut - and we each had a glass of wine. Food was good but not outstanding. We decided to walk over to the bar area across the train tracks for dessert and coffee and experienced terrible service. Coffee came but dessert never came. I had to get up three times and ask the bartender if he knew what was going on. Finally dessert showed up, after coffee was done. One of us ordered ice cream and they brought the wrong flavor in a paper cup with a lid (that you get a local drug store) and it looked like someone had taken a bit out of it. Our waiter left in the middle of service to go to a meeting, but never told us. My advice is to have your main meal and dessert at Malibu Farm and only have cocktails at the bar area.
If you hadn't asked I wouldn't be likely to contact you, but since you did, I'd like to tell you that
first of all I could barely understand the waiter. He certainly lacked charm and friendliness.
We asked about unsweetened plain black iced tea. He said yours had juice in it. We asked if he could
make a pot of black tea and give a glass of ice. He seemed like that was unheard of, and discouraged it.
Finally we ended up with your regular unsweetened iced tea. It was good and we enjoyed it. But I could
not recommend the waiter in any area. Very disappointing.
Team was amazing, property and view were stunning - get an outside table and it will enhance your experience.
Loved everything about this whole property. Grew up in Santa Barbara and have watched the construction of the mirimar develop into the most beautiful place here. Both restaurants on property are incredibly delicious. The customer service was great also. I’ll be back!!
The Rosewood Miramar Beach is a gorgeous hotel. The Beach Bar and the Manor Bar are outstanding in ambiance and service. Food quality at Manor Bar was excellent. However, our experience at Malibu Farm (the focus of this review) was less than stellar in food quality and service. Perhaps it was just an "off" day, but we feel the staff could use some additional training and that the kitchen needs to work on their execution of the menu. Food quality was not in line with pricing as compared to restaurants at the Four Seasons Santa Barbara.
Great spot for some family time. Delicious food and outstanding service.
Hostess didn’t try at all to give us a table outside even though we had a reservation and there was availability
This was irritating
And didn’t ask our preference for best table inside.
Food was good
Tie a blindfold onto an out-of-town friend and walk them into the Rosewood lobby or the Malibu Farm restaurant and ask them where they are? The correct answer? ANYWHERE. The architectural anonymity of the new, expensive resort leeches into every aspect of the experience. The building is faux ... well, something? Connecticut? Hilton Head? Dallas? Any suburban industrial hotel grounds? The lobby is white and beige with art and furnishings chosen to make NO statement about ... anything. It ignores the funk old Miramar that stood there. It ignores the beach culture. It ignores our beach and surf tradition. It's chosen so men in blue blazers can walk through and not have to react to ... anything. This is precisely how the food is served at Malibu Farms. The room could be anything, anywhere, at any hotel, airport or college. From over-sized bathroom style mirrors to chairs that are neither particularly comfortable nor design-forward. The servers was very congenial. (Everyone is friendly. Do not worry about the staff; they're all ebullient! Worry about who pays them!) But the food came out both slow and un-paced. 'Loaded potatoes' that could be from a Mall food court came out tepid. 'Peas & carrots' were so bland they could've ben from a 'can o'farm to table' from Jolly Green giant. But preposterous and disastrous was the 'half roasted chicken' which tasted and looked like the kind of bright alabaster meat one gets at a Country Comfort Buffet. Rather than go on, I'll just conclude this way: it's a pretty LOCATION. So drinks by the beach bar would be nice for a mid-day stop with guests. (Though just 2 drinks with tips set us back $60.) But my main feeling leaving the Rosewood was to root for the Four Seasons (with its spectacular historical lobby and lovely grounds), the Hotel Californian with its million Moorish tiles, the Boathouse (on our nonpareil dog beach), Convivo ... any OTHER Santa Barbara restaurant near the beach. The Rosewood is part of the homogenizing of life.
Service was terrible 45 mins before my food came . The food was good ,the service was just unacceptable, especially with the price point .
